Sprinting morning
"Lance no!" A voice screamed as a seventeen year old boy cackled springing down the halls of the second story of the house and slammed a door shut as a fourteen year old girl banged her fist on the door.
"I'm going to kill you!" She roared.
"First showers mine bitch!" Lance laughed from inside the bathroom.
"Tough luck kid, early bird gets the worm," a woman with long white hair knocked on the door smiling as her wet hair trailed down her pink tank top against her dark skin.
"I take offense to the pun," the girl looked up at her unamused as they heard the water begin to run.
"Don't use all the hot water!" The light haired brunette snapped as she stormed away to her room up the stairs to the attic of the small farm house.
"Pidge stop yelling in the house, it's to early," a teen whined walking out as he tied his head band around his forehead yawning.
"Lance took the shower," Pidge grumbled up the stairs.
"Hunks right, plus we only have one shower and it's nothing new," Allura shrugged as she went down stairs with hunk.
"Keith still sleeping?" Allura raised an eye brow going to the kitchen as she saw a older man sipping coffee in his large mug and reading on the couch with ear buds in.
"I got breakfast," hunk waved. "Morning Shiro," he smiled.
"Good morning hunk," Shiro offered him a smile back. He had short black hair with an under cut and white bangs as he had a large scar across his nose and his right arm was replaced with a robotic one.
"We where planning on going in the woods today, Shiro wanna come with?" Hunk asked from the kitchen as Allura poured herself some coffee.
"I swear you kids live back there by now," Allura giggled as she heard yelling upstairs from Pidge and Lance and a door slam shut. Pidge got the bathroom back.
"She is a devil child," Lance laughed walking down the stairs pulling a blue shirt over his head as he was barefoot with shorts on and his hair was still wet.
"Go get Keith up, he can't keep going late at night and sleeping all day," Shiro sighed walking over as hunk was making bacon and eggs.
"If I get stabbed again by him I'm blaming you," Lance warned groaning as he went back upstairs.
He walked down the hall to the end to the room he and Keith shared as there was only three rooms in the house and Pidge had the attic for her tech and science. Lance went into his room and saw the bunk bed as Keith was sprawled out on his stomach on the bottom bunk with his shirt off and laid in his boxers.
But from between Keiths pale shoulders where dark brown and black wings that between the two it almost looked gold mixed with all the dark colors, 13ft of wings draped onto the floor as Keiths other wing was folded so it didn't hit the wall.
"Rosy~ wake the fuck up," Lance sung knelling down to his friend as Keith opened one eye and glared at the familiar face.
"Let me sleep," Keith hit him with his large wing as he rolled over.
"Rude," Lance said flatly. He poked Keiths shoulder sitting on the ground only to be slapped away everytime.
"Well, if you can't fight them, join em," Lance shrugged crawling into Keiths bed happily and laid with him.
"Lance... What the actual fuck are you doing," Keiths face was muffled into the old pillow that he refused to give up.
"Going to bed," Lance shuffled his shoulders happily.
"Your wet hair is soaking my pillow and me, get off," Keith pushed him but Lance grabbed him and made Keith fall with him.
"Lance!" Keith roared looking down at him as Keith landed on top.
"I got you out of bed sleeping head," Lance ruffled his hair as he escaped from the older boy running down the halls. Keith growled grabbing his jeans and chased after Lance as he grabbed his black hoodie from the door running after him.
"Asshole!" He kicked lance in the shoulder but Lance smirked blocking the kick and pushed Keith back onto to be tripped by him.
"Take it outside you two!" Allura and Shiro yelled up at them and Lance laughed brightly running down the stairs grabbing Keiths hand ignoring his refusing threats as they stole some toast and bacon running down.
Lance ran into the open yard as they lived in the middle of no where only a couple miles from the Grand Canyon of Arizona and mead lake. He ran happily barefoot as he stretched out his arms in the free air as no one knew they lived here nor existed in general, only two miles down the road of emptiness and a thick forest was a small town barely on the map of a population of 6,000. It was so small but they loved it cause it means no one would bother with them living so far. Lance slowly stopped in front of a large oak tree in the middle of the field and looked at it softly under the shade as Keith ran over to him.
Here lies Coran Smythe
Loving friend
Best uncle
Always will be loved no matter where
"Yea I miss the crazy bastard too," Keith leaned against his shoulder despite the high difference.
"I'm just glad he got to go in a normal way," Lance smiled gently at the grave stone with flowers, every Sunday they all go to the flower store to get new flowers for their dear friend.
Only four months ago, the only true adult of the team, coran, died from a heart attack driving home from the grocery store and crashed into the tree they decided to honor him. Doctor said that his heart stopped beating before he hit the tree. They just prayed that was true.
Coran was a close friend of the first adult they trusted in the world, Jeb, coran was never a scientist but he was a vet at the town here as he knew the horrors of the school and the empire but here was safe... So they stayed knowing it was true. Allura was his god daughter as she once was a scientist of the school, she was the reason they escaped, not Jeb, he disappeared four years ago without ever saying goodbye but Lance and Keith held a grudge on Jeb. He promised them freedom, Allura was the one that fulfilled it, she's known coran longer than Jeb.
"He was crazy, wasn't he," Lance laughed softly. He plucked a daisy that grew near the tree and placed it on the stone next to the other flowers.
"We'll see each other some day," Lance nodded as Keith looked away feeling as if he was invading.
Everyone had a partner it felt like with the team, Keith and Lance had each other since the beginning, Pidge and hunk shared their intelligence and bonded over that, Allura and Shiro have known each other forever before they even escaped.
But coran and Lance held a special bond as many years before coran lost his son... And Lance always craved a parental figure, and when Jeb left Lance clung onto the little things like Keith.
"Come on idiot, hunk said he wanted to go in the woods again, might find something," Keith placed a hand on his shoulder.
"I knew you weren't asleep!" Lance accused.
"Y'all are loud as fuck," Keith waved him off taking off in a sprint back to the house.
