Birthday

Oslo, Norway
Samuel Friedrich. A name I will always keep dear to me. My little boy has grown to be six years old today. He has much energy to use all day and is always very happy. I would do anything to make him happy. Even if it means being allies with the Americans against that wretched Hitler. My boy was never spoiled and never asked for anything at all, except to see his mother again. He begged and begged to see her, but they took her away just like the rest of the Jews. I miss my love. I miss her so very much. Sam does as well. It is early morning and Sam is all tucked up in his bed. I wonder if he'll like his birthday present. I must be off to wake up my boy. I shall continue soon.
JULIAN, FRIEDRICH

Sam woke to his father lightly shaking him. Julian had drawn the curtains from the windows to brighten the room, a small lick of sunshine brushing against Sam's cheek. "Sam," his father called, "guess what day it is." Sam's eyelids were drooped from sleep but he did not hesitate to answer the question. "My Birthday!" Sam chirped sleepily and hugged his father lovingly. Sam was never greedy and never asked for anything he had a desire for. He did have a list of many things he wanted to have, but never begged or asked, as he was understanding of how they did not have very much. He also did not want to make a bad image for his father. Julian broke the embrace and asked his son, "Are you ready for your party?" Sam's beautiful blue eyes widened, "A PARTY?!" he exclaimed as a wide smile playing his face. "I never asked-," "No arguing." Julian cut off, "I felt you should have your own party. You are six after all." Sam hugged his father again, even tighter. "Thank You!" Sam exclaimed. "Thank You Thank You Thank You!" Julian smiled and played with Sam's beautiful light blonde hair. "We have quite the surprise for you Samuel." Julian said and Sam tilted his head in confusion to the word 'we'. "Who is going to be there?" Sam asked. "You'll see for yourself lemon." Lemon was Sam's nickname, referring to his golden hair. Julian's spouse had picked the name and stuck with it, as it was a name that reminded him of not only Sam, but his wife as well.

"Should I wash?" Sam inquired. Julian nodded and Sam ran off to wash up. Sam had bathed, brushed his teeth, and dressed himself for the day. Sam decided to dress formally as it was a special day. He called the outfit his Birthday Tuxedo instead of his Birthday Suit. (By suit I mean an actual suit men wear on special  occasions.) He brushed his hair in a cute sway to the left of his forehead, something he never does. "Hmmm," Sam hummed, "I kinda like it! I should do this more!" He ran out of the bathroom and down stairs to the kitchen. He saw his father cooking something on the stove that smelled of blueberries. Sam approached his father and stood next to him staring at the gooey substance mixed with the blueberries. "Are those pancakes with blueberries in them?" Sam asked his father. Julian smiled and flipped the pancake, the previously cooked side a golden tan. "But how!?" Sam asked with absolute shock of how they had the resources to make anything that delicious. "I thought we didn't have enough." Julian did not answer and placed the fresh pancake on top of the other four and started to make another. Sam didn't ask any more questions and took a pancake from the stack and bit in to the fluffy cake. He swallowed and smiled excitedly, "These are amazing!" Sam chirped and gobbled up the rest of the cake. "Enjoy the breakfast cake?" Julian asked and Sam nodded his head vigorously. He then paused to ponder something. "Father?" He called. "Yes Lemon?" Julian asked. "When will my bump be taken away?" Sam asked, referring to the mass of fat cells under the skin that made it appear as a bump on Sam's right leg. Julian sighed and smiled lightly at the young boy. "September little Lemon." No further was said on the matter and Sam ran off to his father's study. He eyed the many pencils and paper sitting on his father's desk. The paper and pencils were the only things he could touch in the room, nothing else was to be touched. He grabbed a pencil and paper and he was off to the dining room to draw. He sat at the table and was doodling on the page.

By the time Julian was finished with the blueberry pancakes, Sam was adding a backround to his picture. It seemed to be Sam and Julian in a bookstore with many children's fairytales. Julian appeared to be reading to Sam like he always does before bed. The only time Julian does not read, was if he was very sick. That was when Sam would take over the reading. "Is that pencil from my study?" Julian asked kindly. "Mmhmm." Sam nodded and wrote the initials "SF" at the bottom right corner of the page. "Done!" Sam sang and held up his masterpiece. Julian gasped in surprise. In all of his years working in the Children's Mental Institute of Oslo, he never thought a six year old could draw such detailed works of art. Sam was quite the artist, drawing any realistic figures in front of his blue eyes. "This is your present Father!" Sam chirped, handing the drawing to Julian. "It is your birthday though, Sam," Julian argued, "shouldn't it be you who gets presents today?" Sam giggled slight and hopped from the table, "I drew a picture for each of my friends. I hope they like them." Julian smiled at the boy, "You sound like a girl Sam." Sam shot his father a look, "No!" he shouted, "I'm a boy! Not a girl! They're too floofy, except for Eva though. She always dresses like a boy and is nice to me." Julian chuckled and motioned for Sam to sit at the table. Sam did so and sat at the table. Julian stood and placed a plate of the breakfast in front of the boy. He then sat down at his own plate and began to eat. Sam did the same and began to eat the delicious cakes.

What did you think of the story? Should I continue it? Let me know in the comments. I wanna know your opinion. I'm gonna play minecraft now. Bye and as always LOVE da Muffins.
