Rain In March
As I sat beside the cooking fire outside
The wind swept the compound
The fire flickering
The fire flickering
Tiny flashes of lightning
Reminding one of something
I looked upwards and I saw got me thinking
Gone are the hot days
Gone are the cold and dusty harmattan days
Gone are those days
Here we are now
In the month of March
Welcoming abundant rain
Yes
Plenty of rain
The rain that brings the dead back to life
The life of all green
The life of all green
Everywhere
Throughout the length and breath of Nigeria
This poem was written almost five years ago. Tell me what you think. I was in senior secondary school (SS 1) when I wrote it 🤗🤗
