~ Five years later ~

9 years ago, a tall, dark haired man walked into my bakery on his way to work. He was late and was in such a rush I never got a chance to catch his name. For the next 4 months I couldn't form the words to ask him his name before finally getting out of my comfort zone. Doing so was the best decision I have ever made in my life. If I didn't ask for his name, then I never would've married and had kids with him.

Speaking of kids, they've all grown up now. Henry and Liam left for college a few years ago and they visit regularly as promised. It broke me and Killian's heart to see them leaving home, it only seems like yesterday they turned 13.

Sophie is 7 and loves reading. It only took two weeks in pre-school for her to be able to read from books and form long descriptive sentences. She's definitely more of a daddy's girl and at every opportunity she finds a way for him to read her a book at night.

Matthew is 5 and is the most precious little boy ever. He had it rough the first couple of months after we left the hospital, getting sick every other week and spending a few nights there but now he's healthy and thriving.

We also moved back to New York. We missed it way too much and couldn't help ourselves. The kids are happier there, Killian can work in the studio again and I can work in the bakery..it's a win for us all.

Me and Killian also got remarried on our '3rd wedding anniversary' and we just completely forget that we ever got divorced in the first place. To us, we've been married for  7 years. The wedding was a small courthouse wedding, nothing too big and there wasn't many guests. However Killian wanted to have a huge reception party which was the highlight of the day.

One of the best outcomes of the past five years is the fact that we were a family together. No separations, no fights, no worries. It was perfect.

But after 9 years, I still can't comprehend my luck. I have three beautiful kids, an amazing brother in law and the best husband a girl could ask for. But none of it was expected...

I didn't expect to have any more kids

I didn't expect to fall in love again

And I definitely didn't expect to ever meet a guy as amazing as Killian.

I don't know exactly what I did to deserve the life that I got, I started off with the worst situation that a child could go through to having a beautiful family. It was so surreal.

But if I went back I wouldn't change a thing, none of it. Everything that's happened in my life had lead to all the happiness that I ended up receiving.

Love isn't easy, you have to work for it. It's messy and tiring, but worth it. With love comes so many unexpected memories.

I guess Killian was right after all these years, love is unexpected, and we have to expect the unexpected.
