Emma's POV
~ December 25th ~

An alarm quietly jolts me awake as I feel Killian behind me moving towards the clock to turn it off. I was very movement constricted as our son had decided to stay put an extra 5 days and has given me no braxton hicks and no signs of labour starting any time soon. It was giving Killian more anxiety than me as he believes that the baby could come at any given moment and hasn't let me leave the house without him.

I was determined to not let the day be ruined with both our worrying as I wanted it to be our first normal Christmas together as a family. Last year Killian was in hospital and it was Sophie's first Christmas, so this year really was our first Christmas together as a whole. Killian was way too excited and we had hoped to have our son with us too but of course he was taking his time.

Me and Killian woke up before the kids and took the remaining presents down underneath the tree. Killian made us both some coffee as we sat in the kitchen cuddled together.

"How you feeling?"

"Tired, it's too early in the morning."

"No, I mean how are you....and the baby?"

"Oh Killian we talked about this."

"I know we did but you can't blame me for being worried."

"But it's Christmas and I want to spend one day without worrying or getting worked up about how the baby is overdue."

"I'm sorry love."

"It's okay, you're just excited."

"Come on, let's wake up the kids."

We set down our coffees and walked hand in hand up to Sophie's room first. We switched on the light and her little head shot up and she struggled to keep her eyes open.

"Hey baby girl! Merry Christmas!"

Killian lifted Sophie out of her bed as I wasn't fully capable of bending over and lifting things anymore and we both kissed her on the cheek. We then went on to wake up Henry and Liam and then slowly went downstairs, and by slowly I mean I walked slowly and everyone walked on. Because the baby had obviously gotten bigger, it made the pain stronger regarding the fact that the cyst was also growing. That's why I has taking it easy and not moving too fast.

Sophie immediately tucked into her presents as wrapping paper went flying everywhere. Every present she unwrapped she wanted to open and play with straight away, but we tried to encourage her to open the rest of her gifts first.

After opening some presents Killian went to make breakfast as I sat with Sophie and the boys to open their presents from them.

"Mama Mama! This is yourss."

Sophie handed me a very badly wrapped gift with a huge smile on her face. I giggled as I began to tear the wrapping paper. Eventually I unwrapped the messy paper and lifted out a cute jumper for me and a matching onesie for the baby.

"Daddy helped me."

She whispered into my ear and then very cutely covered her mouth and giggled.

"Thank you so much sweetie I love it."

"We wrap it last night, because one was for baby but baby isn't here yet."

"Yeah, but baby brother will be here soon!"

I gave her a gentle hug and she kissed my bump and smiled to herself. It was at this time Killian called us for breakfast as we all entered the kitchen for some food.

"You look amazing love."

"Why thank you!"

I had decided to put a little effort into my outfit. Although I was full term and literally ready to give birth I still wanted to look good for Christmas. I had been getting mild contractions since this morning and a lot of pain in my stomach, but I didn't want to go to the hospital because I would probably get sent home after a few hours because I wasn't ready.

Killian met me halfway up the staircase and 'gave me a hand' walking down the stairs. I haven't stopped nagging him all day, telling him I was fully capable to do things myself, but he doesn't seem to listen quite frankly. He walked into the living room with me and watched me sit down.

"I can sit down by myself!"

"I'm just being cautious."

"Okay whatever."

I laughed as he walked into the kitchen to set out the dinner. He was keen on making the dinner himself and that's an offer I wasn't going to turn down. Not cooking on Christmas pregnant or not was the best present, I hated stuffing the turkey and having to check on multiple items. To be honest I did have to help with a few things but eventually everything was done.

"Okay everyone, dinner is ready come to the dining room!"

I helped Sophie get up into her chair as Killian began to place all the food onto the table. Henry and Liam came running down and sat in their usual seats. After everything was done, I sat down as Killian went to feed Leia, Scarlet and Ella. He quickly washed his hands and came back into the dining room and sat down.

It was a nice atmosphere. Henry and Liam were still excited about their presents and Sophie was talking to Killian about how I loved my present. Finally, we were all together, Celebrating the holidays as a whole family and having nothing to worry about. No threats, no sadness, no problems.

Well I had a problem, an overdue baby.

As everyone finished up their meal, I helped Killian clean up as there was a lot of plates, pots and pans to cleaned and the dishwasher wasn't big enough to do it all. It was still rather early, it was only 4pm. We usually had early dinner in Christmas anyways. I was still slowed down however by the excruciating shocks of pain in my stomach and thought I would never get the cleaning down at the rate I was going.

"Killian, I'm just gonna go to the bathroom I'll be back."

"Okay love."

I walked into the bathroom which was conveniently across from the kitchen. I took some deep breaths before getting hit with another shock of pain. I knew that something wasn't right and I sat on the toilet in case my waters decided to break. But they didn't.

"Killian!! Killian get in here!"

I screamed for Killian, he of course heard me and I could hear him running towards the bathroom and pulling down the handle.

"Emma! Are you alright?"

"No, no I'm not."

"What's wrong? Emma?"

"There's blood."

"Blood?"

"I'm bleeding Killian."

"Oh god okay I'll get the car ready."

"Killian I can't get in the car, I can't move."

I began crying as the pain began to become more unbearable. Killian helped me clean myself up before trying to get me to walk into the living room, but I ended up almost falling and he placed me gently on the bathroom floor.

"I'm going to phone an ambulance Emma, Okay?"

I nodded my head and asked him to close the bathroom door as I didn't want the kids to see me. I heard Killian talking to the responder on the phone and he sounded very shaken. The last thing I wanted was for him to get upset and worried.

"Okay Emma, an ambulance is on its way. Just hold tight for me baby okay?"

I nodded again as he kissed me. I began feeling faint and heavy headed. It was at this point that my waters decided to break.

The contractions started almost immediately and I was on the floor in a pool of my own tears. I could hear sirens as the ambulance arrived and Killian ushered them inside and guided them to the bathroom. I tried to calm down as I knew I was going to be asked questions.

They gave me an oxygen mask and a shot of a pain relief before bringing in a wheelchair and helping me into it. As contraction after contraction hit, Killian was left explaining to the paramedics about my condition and that i was overdue. They agreed I had to get to the hospital immediately before a cyst exploded or the baby went into distress.

Killian told the boys what was happening and asked them to look after Sophie until Lily, who was coming over today anyways, arrived. He then followed me into the ambulance were they started hooking me and the bump up to machines.

"Hey hey, you're gonna be fine. Don't be worrying love, everything's gonna be fine."

"But.. but what if it's not."

"It will still work out okay? I love you and you will be all happy in a few hours when our baby arrives."

"Okay."

"Let's just have some faith. Do you trust me?"

"Of course I do."

"Then lets go."

I know I said there was only two chapters left but I didn't want to have one big chapter so there's two chapters left after this one 😂
