You waited in the line to the haunted house, while Chen went to get you some cotton candy.

The November Festival was always your favorite time of year. All the kids dressed up as a character from a TV show or mythical creature. Usually the adults didn't dress up, but the festival was always full of adults wishing to relive their childhood.

Chen came back just as it became your turn to go. All the people who had been in front of you had either run out screaming or walked out looking traumatized. You were curious as to what they had put into it this year. Last year there had been actual (harmless) spiders and insects brought in.

"Are you ready?" Chen looked at you, smiling adorably. He was just as excited as you.

"I can't wait! I wonder what they brought in this year..."

A man with thick glasses and purple hair appeared before you. He looked almost sinister in the lighting, but really he was bored out of his mind.

He spoke monotonously, "Remember to not break anything. You will have to pay for any broken or damaged items. Blah blah blah. I'm sure you know the rest. Have fun, kids." The fact he called you kids really struck you as strange. He looked about the same age. Maybe even younger.

You became one with Elsa and let it go. Grasping Chen's hand tightly, you both walked in fearlessly.

The first thing that you noticed was darkness. There were no lights on, but you could see a faint flickering of a flame not too far ahead.

You tugged on Chen's sleeve. "Up ahead." He smiled and nodded. You were slightly frustrated as he didn't seem remotely nervous or scared.

You sincerely hoped that he would have fun on the trip. Currently he was grinning childishly at all the props you two passed by in an effort to get to the flickering light.

Upon reaching the candle, a gust of wind blew all the light out. Loud screams echoed through the house, causing you to jump back into Chen. He wrapped his arms around you and reassured that everything was fine.

You two continued to walk forward. You were cautious as you looked around suspiciously at your surroundings. You were almost too distracted to notice Chen's hand wind it's way around yours. You blushed slightly and looked at him, he also had a tint of pink in his cheeks.

At that moment, a large object blocked your path, growling in your face. Both of you jumped slightly and started to run. The terror was short lived because as soon as you were 10 ft away, laughter Perseus.

"Aww you got frightened!" You laughed, nudging Chen. You were actually glad that the haunted house had scared him-- even if it was a little.

Chen just rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out. You both walked out of the haunted house giggling, hand-in-hand.

The guy who had given them all the instructions looked at them warily. He looked away and whispered to himself, "I ship it."
