What is Omegaverse?

Omegaverse is a special universe/genre for Boys Love or Yaoi that are classified into three types of roles: the Alpha, Beta, and Omega.

Originally in science fictions, omegaverse depicts romantic or sexual relationships between male werewolfs, and from here, a hierarchy system is formed in humans. This reached the world of manga and fanfiction with different arrangements and versions, and it is up to the creator to make the omegaverse more interesting.

What is Alpha (α), Beta (β), and Omega (Ω)?

In reality, there only exist biological sexual characteristics, Male and Female.

But in an Omegaverse, there exist six genders: Alpha male, Alpha female, Beta male, Beta female, Omega male, and Omega female.

I. ALPHA (α)

Alphas stand above Betas and Omegas, making up 20% of the population. They have a high chance of reproduction with Omegas, and have increased sperm count. They carry pheromones that differentiate them by class.

1. School
They have exclusive schools for Alphas which have courses only for them. Alphas are more talented and capable than Betas and Omegas, making them the highest level in a school standard.

2. Work
Presidents and executive positions in the government and family-run companies are mostly ocuppied by Alphas. They have strong connections that give them advantage into the corporate world.

3. Marriage
Alphas tend to marry within their class to preserve their elite bloodline. It depends on the Alpha family to accept an Omega based on the belief in the urban legends that some Alphas and Omegas are destined to becoming mates or bonds, their partner in a lifetime.

Alpha parents can highly produce pure Alpha children, but they can also have a very rare chance of producing Beta and Omega children.

4. Sex and Pregnancy
Male Alphas develop knots, a gland that swells during the so-called "heat" when they ejaculate, so that it will be locked inside and won't be able to withdraw from their partner's sex organ when penetrated.

It lasts to 20-30 minutes expelling 20mL of semen with a 100% rate of impregnation. During normal times, they expell 10mL of semen which is still more than average for Betas and Omegas (2mL).

They also experience "rut", an intense desire to mate that leads to sexual frustration if not attended. When Alphas smell an Omega's sex pheromones, they instantly go into random heats and possibly lose reason and consciousness. Sanity could be abandoned due to this animalistic tendecies that may lead to agressiveness.

II. BETA (β)

Betas make up the majority of the population by 70%. Due to their hard work, they can also reach ranks the same as Alphas although they are normal people of the society that don't carry pheromones. As a partner to Alphas and Omegas, they do get turned on but are able to maintain control.

2. Marriage
Betas marry each other of the same class but some of them marry Alphas or Omegas if they fall in love with them. They don't follow mates or bonds since they have nothing special in them. They do sense Alpha and Omega pheromones, but they don't get affected by it.

3. Sex and Pregnancy
Sex and pregnancy between an Alpha and Beta can be possible. Meanwhile sex between a Beta and Omega can be pleasurable but unsatisfactory.

Betas can also get pregnant by Alphas with a chance of having Alpha children. It is also possible in Beta families to have Omega children, but it is unlikely possible for an Omega family to get Alpha children.

III. OMEGA (Ω)

Omegas have the lowest rank in the society being only 10% of the population. Omegas, regardless of being Male or Female, can get pregnant and experience estrus, a biological heat cycle. An estrus starts at twelve to eighteen years old, and lasts five to seven days which occurs every month. They carry strong pheromones that attract Alphas.

1. School
In some Omegaverse, the roles aren't determined yet through birth, so when children enter middle school, they take tests to determine whether they are an Omega, Beta, or Alpha.

Out of ten students, there is one omega. They appear to be weak and less intelligent, but some Omegas defy these beliefs and do excel in studies and sports.

2. Work
They hold a lower position in the workplace below Alphas and Betas. It is due to the fact that Omegas go through heat cycles that largely affect their jobs, causing them to take abscences from work so they can take care of it at home.

Because of the advancement of the world, special drugs in the form of pills or injections called heat suppressants are invented. The medicine suppresses heat and hides pheromones by taking it three times a day, or injecting the drug into their arm or thigh whenever an unexpected estrus occurs. The heat subsides within five minutes but side effects such as dizziness and headache is expected.

4. Marriage
In some Omegaverse, Alphas marry Omegas that come from elite Alpha families to produce Alpha children. Omegas can sometimes be hopes for Alphas, especially if that Alpha family is in need of an heir. According to urban legend, it is also believed that Omega and Alpha have special bonds which are considered written pair or soulmates, that is why marriage between them happens.

Meanwhile in the ancient Omegaverse, Omegas are forced to marry Alphas in payment by the Omega parents for their debt to the Alphas. They work as sex slaves or breeding tool. But in a modern Omegaverse setting, it doesn't exist anymore. Alphas and Omegas can be binded together through love and marriage.

4. Sex and Pregnancy
Omega males are highly capable of pregnancy. Their anus have tubes connected to their wombs which carries sperms to make them pregnant. The only differences between a male and a female Omega is their outward appearance and genitals.

During a heat cycle, Omegas release sex pheromones in their sweat and body fluid called "omega pheromones". Male omegas produce natural slicks or excess wetness through their anus to prepare for sex. The Alpha can highly impregnate the Omega unless protection is used. Sex outside of heat is considered safe from pregnancy. But when an Omega and Alpha have sex within a heat cycle, pregnancy is highly possible especially if the Alpha knotted the Omega.

When an Alpha and Omega engage into sexual intercourse, the Alpha bites the neck of the Omega during penetration.

It can be the place at the right, left, or back of the neck of the Omega. The circular teeth bite or mark made by the Alpha will never fade from the Omega's neck forever.

5. Mating System Between Alphas and Omegas
Mating is the process of claiming and owning an individual for their whole life, unabling them to have sex with other people except from their mates. If they have sex with other people when they are already mated, they experience withdrawal symptoms such as vomitting, headache, and dizziness.

Mating is only possible between Alphas and Omegas. Mating between Betas and Alphas, or Betas and Omegas doesn't exist, but pregnancy do.

After being mated, Omegas who undergo estrus can only trigger their mated Alpha's pheromones. Their heat can no longer affect any other Alphas.

Unmated Omegas protect themselves from unwanted Alphas through wearing a brace collar to cover their necks. They can have sex with any Alphas but they can't be mated as long as they are not bitten, and as long as they wear their collars around their necks.

Chanyeol is an Alpha who fell in love with his childhood friend Baekhyun despite knowing he is an Omega. His family want him to marry an Alpha partner when he grows up so he can continue their bloodline. Chanyeol follows his parents and forgets about Baekhyun. Ten years later, Baekhyun comes to work in his company. Chanyeol realizes he is soulmates with Baekhyun because of the unexplainable pheromones Baekhyun emits when he caught him at the office struggling with his heat.

2. Romance, Smut, University!au

Baekhyun thinks he is born an Alpha just like his best friend, Chanyeol. So he is very disappointed to find out he is an Omega after taking the test. Chanyeol promises that he will marry Baekhyun and that they will be mates when they become adults. Alphas come hitting on Baekhyun as they grow older, so Chanyeol wishes to completely mark Baekhyun as his own so his pheromones won't attract other Alphas anymore. Problem is that, Chanyeol isn't sure if Baekhyun loves him like he does.

3. Romance, Smut, Angst, Soulmates!au

Baekhyun and Chanyeol are fuck buddies although they are both Alphas. Baekhyun, who only tops Alpha females, Omegas and Betas before, agrees to bottom for Chanyeol. Though he doesn't produce natural slicks like an Omega does during sex, it's fine with him because he is secretly in love with Chanyeol. Baekhyun worries when an Omega who proclaimed himself to be Chanyeol's soulmate comes. He doesn't know if he should continue fighting for Chanyeol or he should find an Omega partner of his own.

4. Romance, Smut, Angst, Family

Being born as a Beta, Chanyeol is nothing special. He admires his twin brother, Loey who is born a pure Alpha. Baekhyun is their friend who is an Omega but has a strong personality just like his brother. Loey studies in abroad, leaving him and Baekhyun to grow up together. Chanyeol realizes his feelings for Baekhyun, and plans to confess his love, when Loey comes back to their lives. Baekhyun and Loey are drawn to each other because of their pheromones, and Chanyeol, who is only a Beta, is torn apart because of his feelings towards Baekhyun and his insecurities towards his brother.

5. Fluff, Comedy, Neighbors!au

Baekhyun an Alpha-hater, is an Omega who lives next door to a newly-moved in tenant, Chanyeol, who lied to the landlord that he is a Beta because of family reasons. Baekhyun keeps getting irregular heats because of the unknown Alpha pheromones troubling him. Baekhyun become friends with Chanyeol and shares him his hatred towards Alphas who abused their family when he was young. Chanyeol finds it hard to keep lying, because he's starting to fall in love with his neighbor. He can't tell Baekhyun his secret that he is actually an Alpha who is a soon-to-be heir who ran away from home.

6. Fluff, Smut, Domestic!au

When he was a teenager, Baekhyun, who is an Omega, got drunk and got pregnant by an Alpha whom he only met one night. He didn't plan letting the guy know what happened, so he became a single Dad at an early age and grew up the Alpha baby on his own. Five years later, Baekhyun's son enters kindergarten. Baekhyun is surprised when he meets Chanyeol, the father of his child, waiting outside the school. Looking familiar, Chanyeol asks Baekhyun out on a date. He is surprised when he sees a little boy running to Baekhyun, who looks exactly just like him.

7. Fluff, Comedy, Smut

Baekhyun is an Omega, and Chanyeol is an Alpha. Their first encounter is at SM Entertainment's audition. They eventually end up debuting together in one idol group. It's already perfect, aside from the fact that they hate each other's guts. After their overseas concert, Baekhyun forgets to bring his heat suppressants with him, so he has no choice but to deal with it himself at the dressing room. Chanyeol helps him through his heat and becomes his fuck buddy since then. Baekhyun realizes that Chanyeol is a nice guy after at all.

8. Fluff, Smut, Comedy, Office!au

Chanyeol, a Beta who works as a Secretary, has hidden feelings for his CEO, Baekhyun, an Alpha. He cleans after his boss whenever Baekhyun plays around with Omegas. Chanyeol does his job well and never leaves his boss' side, that is why Baekhyun trusts him so much. Chanyeol catches Baekhyun fucking himself with a dildo at the office and hears him call his name in a very lewd way. Baekhyun gets shocked and embarrassed being caught by his Secretary. Chanyeol is surprised as well. Does his Alpha boss wants a Beta to fuck his ass?

9. Romance, Comedy, Domestic!au,

Baekhyun, an Omega, and Chanyeol an Alpha, are arranged married for the sake of the company. They don't love each other before marriage, but after living together and becoming husbands, they learn to slowly appreciate and fall for each other. Chanyeol's parents are pressuring their son to already have a baby, so Chanyeol is very worried on how to impregnate Baekhyun in a proper way. Little did Chanyeol know that Baekhyun has been preparing for this to happen in his whole life.

10. Romance, Smut, Angst, Soulmates!au

Until Baekhyun hasn't met his Alpha soulmate yet, Chanyeol, who is a Beta, offers himself to be sex friends with Baekhyun to get through his monthly heat cycle. Everytime Baekhyun begs for an Alpha's knot, he asks Chanyeol to sleep with him instead. So, although it hurts being a substitute, Chanyeol is willing to do it with Baekhyun because he loves him so much. Baekhyun then is torn apart when his Alpha soulmate finally comes to his life, because his body is wanting an Alpha, but his heart is yearning for Chanyeol.
