"______, it's almost night. You should head out too already." You heard your classmate, Amber, say from the doorway of the office.

"I'll just finish a few details and I'll get going." You waved her off, not even bothering to look at her. She sighed.

"I have to go. I have a night job, you know."

"Then go. I'll be fine." You turned to look at her, and immediately met her scolding stare.

"It's a full moon tonight, ______."

Your brows furrowed. "So.....?"

She sighed and shook her head. "You know what, I'll just go. Call someone to pick you up or something. You can't walk alone on the streets at night. You hear me?"

"Mhmmm." You mumbled as you continued clicking away on the computer. You heard her cluck her tongue, but then she said nothing else. The fading sound of clicking shoes indicated that she already left. You concentrated on finishing the department's database your head assigned to you. You were the department president of your course, so it's no surprise that the department head assigned you to this. And you have to finish it today because tomorrow would already be the distribution of grades. Responsibility could be such a bitch sometimes.

After a few more minutes, you finally finished everything, and even did a couple of double checks just to make sure everything was where it should be. Sighing contentedly, you shut down the PC and went out of the department office.

"Be careful on the road," the maintenance man said as he locked the office for you. "And make sure you stay away from the southern streets."

"What? Why?" You asked, but he just gave you a serious look. "But Ahjussi, I live in the SouthWest. I'll have to pass through there."

"Then stay under the street lights." He smiled before walking away. Brows furrowing, you just decided to head out of the campus.

Why is ahjussi so creepy today? He's usually a bright person...

You shivered as the cool night wind hit your skin. Hugging yourself for warmth, you started shuffling down the streets.

Stay under the street lights...

When you remember that ahjussi's words, the creepy feeling comes back. And for some reason, it makes you feel like someone is following you.

And strangely, you felt like there were a lot of them.

You looked up at the bright full moon as you remembered Amber's reminder.

It's a full moon tonight.

And then it clicked. You were just too occupied earlier to even realize what she was implying.

When the night is up and the moon is full, the supernatural comes crawling out.

Your pace quickened together with your beating heart. And the fact that you were already in the Southern streets only scared you further.

A streetlight from ahead flickered, making you jump. Gulping, you stepped away from it, afraid that it will explode or something.

But just as you passed by it, the light totally went out.

You froze, afraid to breathe, afraid to make any noise. You didn't know what to do. You were about to grab your phone to call for someone, but a hand suddenly grabbed your wrist. Red glowing eyes staring back at you.

"Don't be scared." A deep male voice cooed, but his sinister smile held everything you should be afraid of.

"Let go of me," you hissed and tried to yank away your arm, but to no avail. He pulled you closer and take a good sniff of your neck.

"Mmmm... so fresh."

He chuckled, and other more followed. You looked around and realized that there were a lot of them. You could barely see them through the darkness, but their glowing eyes were impossible to miss. They had differently colored eyes, but all held the same sinister look as if they would devour you any second. And that was probably what they were planning to do.

"I want her flesh."

"Leave the soul to me."

"I want the last drop of blood."

"Imbecile! All the blood goes to me!"

"No... Please don't hurt me..." You whimpered. These men are definitely nowhere near human. And you can't do anything other than beg for their mercy.

"Calm yout fangs, gentlemen." The man holding you chuckled. "You'll get a part for yourself. But for now, I get the first taste."

He grabbed your hair to one side a little too harshly, making you grunt. You continuously fidgeted, but it was just impossible to escape from his harsh grasp. He was about to clamp his mouth over your neck, but a loud sound made him stop.

One of his guys came flying against a wall, and not even a second later, another one was thrown away like a ragdoll. Random strips of light kept on flashing everywhere.

Suddenly, you were yanked away from the evil guy, and a different man clutched you against his chest. He leapt a few meters up in the air, bringing you away from the chaos. You landed somewhere in a small alley.

"Stay here." The man said and leapt away once again. From a distance, you could hear groaning, snarling, and sounds of people getting beat up. Still in shock of whatever the hell was happening, you slowly stepped towards the main street, unsure whether to run or stay.

What if your savior was actually just another bad guy?

But what if he was your only hope to survive this night?

Before you could even decide, someone landed right in front of you, blocking your way. And much to your horror, it was the red-eyed guy.

Under the nearby streetlights, you finally were able to see his face, but it seemed to only make things worse as it illuminated his predator smile quite well. It looked like it came straight from a nightmare. His fangs looked as sharp as razors and his sharp talons curved inward like it could tear out throats in a flash.

"Oh baby, you're not going anywhere."

In a split second, he had you pinned by the neck against the wall. His claws were digging into your neck, and you could feel trickles of blood running down your skin. He bent down to take a lick, making you cry out as his tongue seemed to sizzle against your neck.

"Stay away from her demon," a deep voice spoke just before the said demon was yanked away from you. A strip of light came out of your savior's hand, and he quickly wrapped it around the demon's neck. Hissing and squirming, he tried to fight back, but it already had nowhere to go. As soon as the light turned red, the demon's body exploded into black dust and dissolved in air.

There was a brief moment of silence, indicating that it was over. You stared at your savior, quite in awe of his extraordinary features. He was unbelievable handsome, and his serious face looked hot instead of scary. But you didn't pay much attention to it for the meantime, since you just met death right in the face and you're probably still in its grasp.

You reached up for your neck, and hissed at what felt like a burn. You were about to say something, but your vision suddenly swirled red. Your breathing became hollowed, and it was like something heavy was pressing against your chest. You dropped down the asphalt, gasping.

"Oh shit..." He mumbled as he checked the wounds on your neck. "Hey, keep your eyes on me."

You tried to look up at him, but random flashes of red made you feel dizzy. You closed your eyes, but he snapped his fingers.

"Yah! Don't fall asleep!" You could only groan in response. Your body was starting to feel cold.

"Drink this." He pushed something glasslike onto your lips, but it felt like your body has turned to stone. You couldn't even twitch your nose anymore.

"Aish," he let go of you, and for a moment, you thought, he has just decided that you were already good as dead. But then, he lifted your head, and something warm enveloped your lips. Your eyes shot open, and you realized that he was kissing you.

He was kissing you.

You felt a sweet minty fluid fill your mouth, and being caught up in shock, you ended up swallowing it. Coughing, you broke the kiss.

"What the hell was that?" you struggled to ask between coughs.

"Medicine." He simply said as he turned away.

"Are you some sort of demon exterminator?"

"I'm a wizard. I fight with magic."

"Oh..." You nodded. "What happened to me earlier?"

"The demon's saliva is venomous. It could kill you in just a few minutes. The medicine was the only thing that could save you."

"But... was the kiss really necessary?"

"...it was the quickest way I can think of." You could detect a hint of embarassment in his voice. You fought the urge to laugh, because now really isn't a laughable situation.

He finally turned around, but with a dead serious look on his face. "You have to go. More will be coming and they will come after you. You're not safe here."

"Will you be ok?" You stepped forwards and he stepped back, much to your surprise. He blinked a few times.

"I think... you should be concerned of your own safety."

"You saved my life. Of course I'll be concerned of you."

He only stared at you with a puzzled look. It lasted for a few more seconds, until his eyes suddenly flashed white, making him blink out of his daze. He grabbed your shoulder.

"You have to go." The dark ground under your feet suddenly started to disassemble, and was turning into what looked like the familiar white carpet of your room. He was teleporting you.

"Wait! I don't even know your name!"

He seemed to hesitate, but answered anyway.

"It's Tao."

You smiled, glad to know that you finally knew something about him.

"I'm ______!"

Just before he was completely gone, you saw him smile.  It was just for a mere second, but it felt like the image quickly got imprinted into your mind.

He chuckled.

"Yes, I know."
