[Kris] Looking into Your Eyes
For @cluelessyehet_me! I hope it melts your heart. :3

I could feel my hands shaking and turning clammy as I anticipated the moment Wu YiFan would walk past me. There he was at the school gates, ever so glorious and confident and oozing with his usual perfection. I wanted him to notice me. Sure, every girl in this school wanted the same thing, but I'm sure that I'm different. I fell for him not only because he was unbelievably gorgeous; I fell for him because of his everything.
His wisdom, his talents, his smile and his mysterious vibe. Take away his good looks, and my feelings still won't change a single bit.
"K-Kris...," I stuttered out the name everybody else calls him with. I was sure I looked starstruck at that moment, just like the usual. I was planning on giving a friendly greeting. A light joke, maybe, but all my voice was drained out the moment my eyes met with his. And he just looked down at me with an expression that probably meant,
"Oh this girl again. When would she realize that I will never like her back?"
He quickly looked away and continued walking as if he never saw me at all. Of course. What did I expect? Just like any other girl, I confessed my "love" to him. And just like any other girl, I could only go as far as being a fan.
And he will never know how deep I've truly fallen for him.

That afternoon was just like every other day of the week. Classes ended, I waited for Wu YiFan to leave school, I squeeze through his cluster of fangirls but get shoved to the side. I scream his name, he doesn't notice, so I just give up and call it a day.
Now I'm walking along the street towards home, daydreaming that maybe tomorrow, he will finally notice me.
Then much to my surprise, things became a little bit different.
"Hey miss!"
I whipped around and saw three students from my school, but I didn't recognize any of them. My brows furrowed.
"Yes? Do I know you?"
"No, but you're cute." Then they laughed, and my blood ran cold when I realized that they were drunk. Seriously? It's not even evening yet and they're already drunk??
"I-I'm sorry, but I have to go." Trying to stay calm, I turned around and started to brisk walk, but just like I dreaded, one of them grabbed my arm. His bloodshot eyes glared straight into my forehead.
"It's rude to turn your back on people talking to you."
"I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to--"
"I guess you should do something for us as an apology, right cutiepie?"
Another guy pushed me back against the fences and started playing with the hem of my skirt.
I wanted to cry. I already felt so violated, but I couldn't do anything about it. There were just too many I can handle.
"So how would you like to start?"
"No!" I squirmed and tried to push back the guy that was about to kiss my neck. But then his companions held my wrists as he forcefully tilted aside my face. The smell of alcohol was all around me.
What did I do to deserve this?
"YAH! LEAVE HER ALONE!!!"
Someone yelled out loud, causing the drunks to stop for a moment. Though tears were blurring my eyes, the figure was too familiar that I was definitely sure that it was him.
Kris.
"Leave us alone pretty boy. This is none of your business."
"Well I'm now making it my business." He strided towards us ever so confidently, as if he was just facing one man instead of three. I couldn't believe my eyes. Was he really there to save me?
"We'll give you the chance to turn around and pretend you didn't see anything. And we won't bruise up your annoying face for messing with us."
Instead of doing as told, he only returned the threatening gaze.
"No thanks. Let go of her now."
The guy scoffed. "What a pain in the ass."
He tried to grab Kris by the collar, but Kris dodged and was able to kick him on the side. With just one stretch of his slender arms, he grabbed the second guy and rammed his forehead against his knee. First guy tried to stand up, but Kris kicked him back down, most probably sending him unconscious in the process. The third guy that was holding me was all that remained, and he looked like he didn't know what to do. Kris stared down at him and to be honest, it looked really scary.
"I said let go of her. NOW."
And the little coward scrambled away for his life. Sighing a shaky breath of relief, I stood there in front of Kris, unable to utter any proper word once again.
"Are you okay?" His mere voice was enough the send my knees shaking. This is all too good to be true.
"Y-yes..." I was unconsciously rubbing my neck, hoping that any mark of that creepy guy's lips would be rubbed away.
"Are you sure?" He stepped forward and gently held my wrists to check for any red marks. I literally froze right there.
"Yes..."
"Then why are you crying?" He gently smiled as he handed me his handkerchief. I didn't want to take it, but he insisted and placed it in my hand.
"Just shocked... I guess..."
There was a while of silence as I concentrated on wiping away my tears. I could feel Kris watching me, though.
"How about I accompany you home? So we can be sure these guys won't wake up and come to you again." He lightly kicked the unconscious body of one guy. Though hesitant, I ended up nodding because deep inside, my fangirling side is screaming that my dreams are coming true.
"We're from the same school, right?" He mused as we walked along the street. I timidly nodded.
"Yes... I'm one of the girls that swarm around you everyday..."
I know it's embarassing to confess something like that, but I didn't want to hide that fact from him. But his reply was definitely not what I expected.
"Yeah, I know." He looked down at me and smiled. "You're Jireh, right?"
I almost choked out my lungs.
"You... You know my name???"
He lightly blushed as he scratched his head. "Let's just say I find you different from the rest."
I can't believe it.
Wu YiFan actually noticed me.
And it wasn't just because I almost got raped on the streets.
"B-but... When I'm there... You look at me like you don't know me..."
"Because I'm scared that if I look too long, I will lose my composure." He bit his lip. "There's something about your eyes... Something that caught my attention the very first time our gazes met."
He locked eyes with me as he spoke, and almost automatically, my gaze was fixed on him and him only.
"The others' eyes only speak awe and admiration. But yours... Yours say a million words. They speak to me in a way that make me want to stop and try to understand them. Every single time I pass by you in those hallways, I look into your eyes for one second, hoping that I will get to know even just one word, but I couldn't. But today, I realized that maybe, I'll have to take more than just a second to know."
It's not a million words, Kris. It's just three words.
"Kris..." I whispered, quite finding it hard to believe that everything he's saying is true. He didn't look like he was joking, though.
"Call me YiFan." He smiled. My brows furrowed. "Everybody calls me Kris, so I want you to call me YiFan."
"But..."
"No more 'buts'. I will call you Jireh anyway because everyone calls you Jy. That way, when I call you, you will immediately know it's me."
"But if I call you YiFan, your other fangirls will kill me..."
He chuckled and held my shoulders to stop us from walking. "I'll make sure they won't. Because I still have a million words to figure out."
He looked deep into my eyes longer than he ever did, and at that moment, I think I saw something in his eyes too.
Words that I also wanted to figure out.
And maybe, this is the beginning of the reality that only began as a daydream.
