Crossing my arms, I glared down at the grass beaneath my feet. No, they didn't do anything to piss me off, but my boyfriend did.

Kris told me that he'll be here in the park in just a few minutes, but 30 minutes already passed and he's still nowhere to be seen. I've grown to accept the fact that he's late in pretty much everything, but being late today when he knows it's my birthday?

I can't help but feel disappointed. My phone finally buzzed after an eternity. I put the phone to my ear, not feeling very amused at all.

"Hello? Joan?"

"Kris? Where the hell are you?"

"Babe, I'm so sorry. I'm almost there. Where are you in the park?"

"The bench where you asked me to be your girlfriend months ago." I muttered darkly.

"Can you move to the fountain on the other side of the park?"

"You made me wait for 30 minutes and now I'm the one who has to move instead of you?" My voice was starting to rise on its own.

"I'm really sorry about that. But babe, just do me one small favor, please? I promise you won't have to do anything the rest of the night. I'll buy you anything you want. I'll do anything you tell me to. I will--"

"Okay, alright! I'll move. But your ass better be there before I come."

He chuckled. "Alright babe. I'll be there. Love you."

He hung up. I stared down at the screen for a moment, a little bit weirded out. He's not usually this cheesy. But well, maybe he's just cooing me because I'm mad. Shrugging it off, I just started walking.

Since the park was quite big, it took me about 5 minutes just to sight the large fountain. It would have been nothing special to me, but much to my surprise and awe, there was a concert going on. There were tall men singing and dancing on the stage, and even from this distance, I could tell that they were really good. Interested as well, I squeezed through the thick crowd to watch.

After a while, I realized that the men on the stage were all Kris' friends. And.Kris was there.

At one point, one of them seemed to spot and recognize me, and he nudged Kris. As soon as we locked eyes, he beamed, and motioned for the music to stop. He stepped to the front of the stage, never leaving my eyes, and my breath stopped when I saw how beautiful he looked up there, bathed in the spotlight. I couldn't help but think at that moment how many girls were wondering if he was single.

"Many of you may be wondering what this event is for. In fact, maybe only the twelve of us actually know what this is for." He chuckled, and the other boys followed. "But you see, it's my girlfriend's birthday today."

A lot of murmurs echoed around, and you could hear tones of disappointment.

"So yes, this is our surprise for her. My gift, my love." His eyes locked with yours, sending electric currents all over your veins. "Can you come up here and join me, baby?"

Kyungsoo and Kai came up to my sides, and escorted me up the stage. I could feel everyone's attention on me, but the only attention I cared about was of one person: Him.

"What is all this?" I could feel tears of joy brimming my eyes, but I held them back. I also felt bad that I yelled at him through the phone earlier.

"Happy Birthday baby." He whispered and kissed my forehead. The boys wolf whistled, making us laugh. "Did you like the surprise?"

I coughed out a laugh and nodded. I was crying, but I was crying because I couldn't imagine having Kris love me this much.

I feel like I'm the happiest Birthday girl on earth.

"I loved it so much. But I still love you more."

Smiling, I tiptoed and kissed him.
