Casey ~ you

My bestfriend Chanyeol and I usually hang out at the park whenever we can.

We always meet here because it's the first place we met when we were little kids.

You can say that Chanyeol is my childhood friend.

And now, well, something incredible happened. Shall I tell you about it?

Flashback:

It was years ago, where we were still friends. My birthday was coming up, and I knew that Chanyeol wanted to celebrate it with me at the park.

He told me to come to the park a day before my birthday actually.

Just us. Alone. With no one else.

At first I was so estatic at the thought of my best friend and I celebrating my birthday.

Of course, I had a crush on him. It couldn't be helped.

Chanyeol was that little cute kid that most people bullied because of his abnormally large ears. [ I like to call them Yoda ears, but I think they're so cute. ]

I never really paid attention to them, but I became friends with Chanyeol ever since we were kids.

During his teens, Chanyeol changed from that cute little pudgy kid to a tall handsome teenager.

Puberty did him good. Really good.

And by the age of 18, I've completely fallen head over heels for him, but I couldn't let him know my feelings.

I was afraid that we'd grow apart.

Anyways, Chanyeol decided that we should have a picnic at the park for my early 19th birthday.

We played on the playground like little kids, we ate a delicious picnic full of food, and we rode a bicycle boat.

{ You know, the ones where you have to ride like a bike and it has a cute animal shape? Oh well }

As we finished our fun and tiring bicycle boat ride, we decided to lay on the grass by the giant tree for shade.

Chanyeol fell asleep on my lap because he said that he was tired.

I couldn't help but admire his handsome and cute face as he slept, his chest was slowly heaving up and down, so I knew he was asleep.

I softly brushed his hair; with my drumming, nervous heart, I decided to confess.

"Channie-ah, you know how much I love you right? It's been so long since you entered my heart and stole it from me. You're so mean you know that?" I whisper as the wind blows.

"I've loved you ever since you've entered my life. That cute chubby little kid has matured and grew into a handsome and sexy guy. It's you. Even if your friends are around me, I still think you're the most handsome guy. Wow, I'm so biased aren't I?" I say with tears forming in my eyes.

"I'll always love you, but if you see me as a friend, I...... I understand." I sniff softly and wipe a tear.

"But if your heart belongs to someone else, I understand. But you have to return my heart back to me or else I won't forgive you. I really won't Yeol. So please, if you love someone else, just return my heart already." I cry silently and hope that I don't wake him up.

I quickly wipe my tears and Chanyeol wakes up a few minutes later.

"Casey, were you crying?" Chanyeol asked as he sat up and looked at my red face. "What happened?" he asks as I smile.

"I yawned oppa. I'm really tired for some reason." I say, yawning again.

"You must be tired from what we did. I apologize." Chanyeol says.

"No, no. It was fun." I smile as he stands up. "Thank you for everything oppa. I mean it. It was so fun today." I smile.

"Of course anything for you." Chanyeol's deep voice says as I smile.

I reach towards him for a hug, and Chanyeol's arms slowly wrap around me. That warm feeling was here again.

I always liked no, loved Chanyeol's hugs. With his height, he feels like a giant that's protecting you. And if he did hug you, you were a special person to him.

And every time Chanyeol hugs me, my heart thumps like a drum while my body gets this warm feeling.

Chanyeol and I clean up our picnic and we walk home, which isn't far away. And besides, we're neighbors.

"Alright Casey. I'll see you tomorrow. Happy early birthday sweetie." I blush as my nickname rolls off his tongue.

"Thank you so much Yeol. I'll see you tomorrow." I give him one last smile as I open the door to my house.

I lock the door and look around the living room and kitchen to find my invisible parents.

'They're probably working or shopping.' I think.

I run up to my room and lock the door. I finally collapse my bed. The tears that I've held in for a while finally spill onto my pillow and bedspread.

I'm glad that no one's at home; I can wail and sob and no one would know.

Chanyeol ~

I never really knew Casey's feelings for me. I mean I've heard from my hyungs and dongsaengs that she liked me, but I didn't know for sure.

Of course, I heard every thing she said. My friends told me to finally confess my feelings for her on her birthday.

I'm definitly letting Casey know how I feel about her during her birthday tomorrow. And it was nice to hear that she has the same feelings for me, but it made me upset that she actually cried.

At home, I call our eleven other friends for help.

"I'd love to help Casey noona for her birthday, hyung. Where do we meet?" Sehun, the maknae asked.

"We'll meet at my place. And don't make any noise or else Casey will hear you guys." I say to Sehun over the phone.

"Got it hyung. We'll be over in a few." Sehun says, ending the call.

I dial another friend's number and all I hear at first is nothing.

"Yah Kai are you there?" I yell into the phone as he groans.

"What Chan hyung? Why are you bothering me so early in the morning?" Kai asks groggily.

"Dude its the afternoon already. And I need your help with Casey's birthday tomorrow." I say as Kai's voice suddenly sounds more energetic.

"Casey noona? Ok, give me half and hour. We're meeting at your place, right?" Kai asks as I reply with a, "Yup."

"See you soon." I finish and call the rest of my friends.

"It's her birthday already! I'm coming to your place Chanyeol hyung!" Tao says in a rushed manner.

"Thanks Tao-" I say as the phone line dies.

"I'd be happy to help with Casey mei mei's birthday!" Lay hyung says enthusiastically.

"Count me in. I'll be at your place soon." Baekhyun, my best friend says.

"I'm definitly coming for my troll friend!" Chen jokes.

"Birthday parties aren't really my style, but I'm coming for my homie." Kris hyung says in his fluent English.

"I'm going to buy my dongsaeng the best present ever!" Suho hyung says as I shake my head.

'Oh no you don't hyung. Casey's mine.' I think.

"I'm defitnitly sure that Casey will be so surprised when she sees us!" Xiumin hyung says.

"I'm making the cake again?" Kyungsoo asks curiously as I shake my head.

"You can rest this year. I found a cake that Casey loves at a nerby cafe." I say.

"But I kinda feel bad for not making one becuase I usually do." Kyungsoo says as I think.

"How about you make a mini cake just for her? You shoukd make the chocolate and strawberry one. It's her favorite anyways." I suggest as I can feel my dongsaeng smile through the phone.

"Thanks for the advice hyung!" Kyungsoo says.

"No problem. But let's meet at my place." I say as he says goodbye.

"I'll be there faster than anyone." Luhan hyung sings as I laugh.

Luhan hyung lives the closest out of us three, so I'm pretty sure that he'll be here really quickly.

"Ok I'll see you in..... a few minutes hyung." I say as he ends the phonecall.

I quickly climb upstairs into my room to grab some paper and pens so that we can brainstorm more ideas.

I already have most of the things Casey likes, but I want to add more so that it'd be absolutely perfect for Casey's birthday.

Before I leave my room, I look over to Casey's window, which is her rooms window.

I think I heard loud sobbing, but I didn't know because my window was mostly closed while hers wasn't.

The doorbell rings and I quickly go back downstairs to open the door to find Luhan hyung and Kai.

"Hey guys. Just wait in the livingroom." I say as they greet me.

My friends all slowly arrive at my house, and we spend the entire afternoon planning Casey's 19th birthday party.

Because I wanted to start dating Casey, her mom and dad, who were like my own said that I could plan whatever I liked for their daughter's birthday.

Her father even agreed on meppm courting his precious daughter. I've already asked for their permission, and they agreed happily because I was the closest person to Casey.

My friends leave and my parents and older sister Yura arrive at night from work.

"Good luck with her birthday tomorrow ChanChan!" mom says, using my nickname.

"Omma, I'm not a little kid anymore!" I whine as my parents and sister laughs.

"We're just glad that you're finally getting a girlfriend Chan." Yura says as I scowl at her.

"Not funny noona." I say and stick my tongue out.

"See? You're just like a kid!" my sister scoffs as my parents laugh and continue eating dinner.

"We wish you the best luck there is son. Just win her heart, and when she's yours, you'll be the happiest man in the world." dad says and looks lovingly at mom as she blushes.

"You're still so sweet yeobo." mom says and smiles.

"Park Chanyeol fighting!" Yura says as my parents join in.

"Shhh! Casey might hear you guys!" I say as they laugh.

Casey ~ you

I wake up in the morning to be greeted by my parents.

"Happy birthday sweetie!" Mom cheers and hugs me.

"Happy 19th sweetheart." Dad says as we hug.

"I'll go get ready." I give them a smile and stretch my arms as they leave my room.

I took half an hour to get ready- that includes morning routine, dressing up, makeup, and hair.

I was wearing my most comfortable and favorite outfit, a thin _______ sweater with black leggings and combat boots.

I have my hair curled and tied up, and my face was bright and clear. A great start for a great birthday I guess.

Most of the day was pretty fun. My parents made me my favorite breakfast, followed by a family gathering. That escalated to lunch at my favorite noodle place, and that also went to birthday shopping with the girls.

Now, it's currently 3:22 PM, and I haven't heard from my friends since this morning, which was definitely very weird.

I knew that they know my birthday, but where are they? My thoughts of my friends and a special someone were interrupted when my cousin called for me.

"Casey, you should go pick a dress and some shoes. After this, were going to a spa!" Kate, my older cousin says as I nod.

I look around the fancy dress store and my eyes immediately fell on this gorgeous _______ dress with bows and sparkles that ended at my knees.

I decided to go along with _______ wedges so that my feet wouldn't hurt as much.

We arrived quickly at a spa a few minutes away after paying for my expensive dress and my wedges, which were partly my gift from mom.

At the spa, I was pampered, bathed, dressed, and beautified. I finished around 7:30 PM, and mom said that it was time to go home for an after party.

"After party?" I ask as mom nods.

"Something special is waiting for you my princess." dad says and kisses my cheek after we park our car.

I start walking towards the front door, but my parents gestured me towards our backyard.

'How weird.' I thought to myself. 'Why are we going to the backyard? I thought the after party was just us?'

Although my friends didn't wish me a happy birthday, I somehow knew that there must be a special reason for this.

And Chanyeol too. We've been through each other's birthdays year by year, and I can't believe that he missed-

"SURPRISE!!!!!" they chorus as the lights turn on and the confetti pops, and my heart jumps in shock.

I didn't expect all this!

In my backyard was surrounded by my friends, my relatives, and... Chanyeol. They were dressed up, and they looked like they were so happy to see me.

There are tables set up full of food, there was a barbecue, a DJ, { which was Chanyeol } and decoration everywhere. On separate tables were the drinks, the desserts, and the cakes.

There, standing in it's glory was a two tier chocolate vanilla mousse cake decorated with strawberries, and a familiar tiny chocolate strawberry cake, which I knew was made by Kyungsoo.

"Happy birthday Birthday girl~" Chanyeol says with his deep voice as he plays a song that we loved- Love, Love, Love.

I was immediately swarmed by my friends that wished me a happy birthday.

"Aigoo. You're growing up so quickly!" Chen oppa says. "It was just like yesterday where I was teaching you how to troll." he sniffs as I laugh.

"Don't pay attention to the troll Casey-ah. Make sure you unwrap my present first!" Luhan oppa smiles as I nod, seeing the giant bag he held in front of him. "Thanks so much!" "Don't mention it."

"Happy birthday mei mei! I wish you the best!" Lay oppa smiles as I hug him. "Gomawo oppa!"

"Happy 19th." Kyungsoo smiles. "Like the cake?" he asks as I nod excitedly.

"I can't wait to try it!" I beam as he smiles. "You look so pretty tonight." he comments as I blush and thank him.

"Hey girl, wassup? Happy birthday homie." Kris greets me in English as I giggle.

"Thank for coming Kris. I know birthdays isn't your style-"

"But I wouldn't miss it because it's you." he smiles and pats my head as I hug him.

"Happy birthday Casey! It's a little something to show how important you are in our lives." Suho says and gives me a small box.

"Thanks oppa. I'll treasure it and use it well~" I sing and hug him.

"Hey Casey noona!" "Hi Casey noona!" two voices chorused at the same time. "Casey jie!" a third voice joins in.

"Happy birthday!" they say, all three pairs of hands holding a bag.

I gasp in surprise as I see the brands they bought: Gucci, Michael Kors, and Chanel.

"You guys shouldn't have! Weren't these expensive?" I ask as they all shake their heads in unison.

"We knew how much you like purses and bags and wallets, we all bought different ones for you. We didn't know what you liked, but we bought expensive ones." Sehun says as I pout.

"Guys, this is too much, seriously!" I whine.

"It's nothing. It wasn't that much. You're really important to us jie, so we bought you the things you like." Tao says as I whine again.

"Aww. But... but... where did you guys get all this money?" I ask as the three heads chuckle nervously.

"We had some help..." Kai mumbles as I see Kris conversing with Suho.

"Oh ok." I giggle. "Anyways, thanks a bunch! You guys should go eat if you're hungry." I gesture to the food table as they look at it in excitement.

"Bye!" the three chorus and run towards the table filled with food.

"Casey!!!" Xiumin oppa calls me as he engulfs me in a bear hug.

"Oppa, too..... tight..." I struggle to breathe as he apologizes.

"Mian. But happy birthday Cas!" he gives me a bag and runs off.

"Hey girl you look fantabulous!" a high pitched voice says as I laugh at his girly attempt.

"OMG girl that eyeliner is sexy as always!" I comment and laugh as he joins in.

"Thanks hun." Baekhyun jokes. "Anyways, happy birthday to our dongsaeng~ and I hope you like my little something for you~" Baekhyun sings and walks off after handing me a bag.

I look into it and gasp. It was a pair of expensive shoes that I've been eyeing at the mall.

"Gomawo Baek oppa!" I yell through the loud music as he waves without turning around.

Suddenly, a pair of hands cover my eyes softly as he sings, "Guess who?"

I giggled and said, "I don't know? Is it you Channie?" I ask as I knew that I was correct.

"Ding! Correct!" he says as I chuckle. I marvel at his body in a sleek tux with a dress shirt and a bow tie, and then I look up to his eyes and he widens them. We were really close to each other with my added height on my wedges.

But he looks hot. Really hot.

"So... umm... how are you liking your birthday party?" he asks as I give him a bright smile.

"I love it Yeol!" I say and hug him. He slowly wraps his arms around me.

"Really? Because I planned it. All your favorites complete with perfection don't you think?" he says, pulling away.

"I love this so much! And to think it was you who had planned this for me? I am the luckiest girl today." I look around in amazement and back to his warm eyes.

"Yes you are." Chanyeol mumbles. "I'm giving you my present later, if you don't mind?" he asks as I nod.

"I'll wait. But it better be a good present Yeol!" I say as he laugh and makes my heart skip a beat.

"Well, you should go enjoy your dinner. You must be hungry from earlier." Chanyeol points out as I nod.

"You should eat too. There's-" I say, suddenly at a loss of words. "Umm... well since you're the planner, would you mind telling me what's for dinner?" I ask as he nods and gives me his cute smile.

It was already dark, and we had a complete blast! We ate delicious food, danced and sang to songs, and cut the cake.

Chanyeol quickly turned the music down and called for everyone's attention.

"Hello everyone! I'm Chanyeol, Casey's friend and EXO's friend, and as well as the neighborhood boy to Casey's parents. Hello omonim, apponim!" he says, waving to my parents as we laugh.

"To get to the point, I'd like to get to the point about Casey, who's turned the age of 19 today! A round of applause everyone!" Chanyeol says as the crowd claps and hoots.

"Happy birthday Casey-ah. And now, I'd like to present you with a very special present of my own." he says, looking at me as I blush.

Chanyeol grabs the microphone and walks towards my chair, which was facing him.

"Happy 19th birthday Casey. I wouldn't know where I'd be without you, you're really special to me. I wish you complete happiness and health throughout your entire life after this birthday, and the next, and all of the other years after that. You're so special to me that I can't even explain this in words, because if I did, it would take a lifetime to complete it. I always remember your face, your smile, and your laugh because they're always replaying in my head. And when we go to our favorite hangout at the park, it makes me want to shout out loud at how fun you are and how wonderfully awesome you are at everything. Also, I love how you're a playful person like me. You know what to do and what not to do. You're always there for us, for me. I want to hug you and do something else, but there's only one thing that stops me from doing it. It's because I wasn't brave enough to do this earlier, and it's because you make my heart thump and flutter so hard every time we meet, it makes me tongue tied and so nervous that I'd want to run away. But tonight, I'm definitely doing this for us." Chanyeol says as I look at him with tears almost forming in my eyes.

He grabs something inside his jacket and suddenly kneels down in front of me. Tears start forming in my eyes, and my hands covered my mouth.

'Us???? What's he doing? Is he...... is he doing what I think he's doing?' I think with confusion and delight.

"Casey Lee, can I have the honor or being your boyfriend on this very special day?" Chanyeol asks and holds out a rose as I look at his blurry figure in front of me.

I take the rose and my tears start falling. I'm not crying in sadness, but I'm crying in happiness. In fact, I was too happy.

"Ah! You're crying!" he says loudly as he stands up to wipe my tears. "Don't cry." he says sadly and frowns. I sniff loudly and softly wipe my tears, and thank the makeup artists from the spa that they used waterproof makeup on me.

I give him a smile. "I've always wanted to be the one by your side. I've waited for this for so long...." I say, crying as I spoke into the microphone.

"I've loved you for so long, and I wasn't sure if you knew or not. I really am blessed to have you all here in my life, and Chaneyeol, you'll be a very special person in my heart. So what I want to say is-" I say but was interrupted by a familiar voice.

"We get it! It's so obvious that the whole world knows it Casey! Just say it! Say yes!" Chen says as he claps.

"Say yes! Say yes! Say yes!" my family and friends cheer and clap as I sniff and look at Chanyeol's towering figure in front of me with a nervous face.

I grabbed his hand and took a deep breath. "Yes. Yes Park Chanyeol!" I say loudly as they stand up and clap and cheer for us.

Chanyeol's face lights up and he hugs and swings me around and quickly drops me to the ground.

"I love you Casey." Chaneyol says as he gives me a quick peck on my lips as I widened my eyes. My cheeks were flaring, and I've stopped crying by now.

But all I remember now was that good warm fuzzy feeling spreading through my body, and the loud claps, cheers, and love of my friends, family, and the one I love.

I love you Park Chanyeol. This was definitely the BEST birthday ever.

There's some bad news too. I'm starting school tomorrow, so I might
