The rest of the day was a blur. Me and Serena had slept on the couch for most of it. She was still kinda cold when we moved to the bedroom at night. She had taken her bra off cause it was "more comfortable." I personally think she was trying to make me stare more. She could be real devious sometimes. Just one of the many things I loved about her.

The next morning was an event however. Beep! Beep! Beep! I slammed on the alarm clock.

"Morning", I said as I rolled over.

Serena sat up, her breasts falling out of the blanket.

I stared, mouth agape.

"Morn-", she started before she connected the dots.

Eek!

She gathered the blankets around her as she turned beet red. I immediately got up and left the room, knowing she was gonna say something.

In the living room, I got dressed in my clothes from yesterday. She came out in a shirt and some jeans. She looked at me and I avoided eye contact. I watched her walk up to me in my peripherals as she rested her hand on my cheek. She turned my head so I was looking at her.

"Sorry!", I said as I bowed before her.

She laughed. Why was she laughing?

"Ryu, get up. It's fine", she said.

I straightened up. I had a confused look on my face.

"We're together, it was gonna happen eventually. Besides, I've still got one thing you haven't seen yet", she said with a wide smirk.

I blushed and turned into the kitchen. I could hear her laughing from the living room and I blushed more.

"You're too cute, really", she said.

I was glad she thought I was cute, but I still couldn't grasp why it was okay to see her body like that. We ate and she put her coat on.

"Where are you going?", I asked quizzically. She turned.

"We are going to get you a phone", she stated.

Why did I need a phone? What was she angling for?

I got up and put my coat on. She intertwined her hand in mine and we left. It had stopped snowing sometime last night while we were sleeping. Hopefully we wouldn't need to be mushed together half naked tonight. I didn't think I'd ever forget the embarrassment I felt yesterday... I shuddered.

"You okay?", she asked me as we walked.

I nodded. No. No I wasn't.

We walked through the city, Serena looking through the windows of countless stores. She remarked about clothing, and on one occasion a "gaming console." At least, that's what it said on the tag.

We finally arrived at the store after about 15 minutes of walking. It probably would've been 10 if we hadn't stopped to look at all the stores. When we walked in, a man greeted us at the entrance. How long had he been standing there? Like, did they just pay him to stand there? I felt Serena tug my hand and I came back to reality.

I often just disappeared into my own thoughts... it wasn't ideal for situations like this. Serena and the man both looked at me, waiting. I had missed what they were saying.

"Babe, do you just want to join my cell plan?," Serena asked me.

Oh!! That's right. We were here for a phone... but what was a cell plan? I nodded and she turned back to the man. I stood there awkwardly while they situated my "cell plan." I still had no idea what the fuck it was, but it seemed important. A couple minutes passed and the man turned to me.

"Now you just have to pick a phone", he told me.

His name tag said Robert. I nodded and followed Robert to a table lined with different types of cellphones. I had no idea what I was looking for. Some had one large screen that reacted to your touch, some you flipped open and there was a screen and a keypad.

Serena handed me a "smartphone", it was one with a touch reactive screen. She mentioned this was the one she had along with a bunch of other stuff I didn't understand.

"It has over 32gb of storage and a thumbprint ID!", she went on.

I told her I'd buy it just so she'd stop rambling.

Pretty soon, I was equipped with my brand new Appel uPhone 7. Serena immediately snatched it out of my hand as I was paying.

It was a hefty $500 out of my salary. She had offered to pay, but I told her I would. She could cover everything else. In the case our relationship went south I would at least have the phone as my property. Serena handed my phone back.

"Now I'm in your contacts and we have a conversation going", she informed me.

I looked down at the new phone. She had already changed the screen to a picture of her. I sighed as I facepalmed. She was smiling as she started to exit the store.

She was something else... She dragged me to another store where they sold uPhone accessories. They had cases, little handhold things, and other stupid add-ons. This was ridiculous. At least she let me pick the case.

I had decided on a black "shatter resistant" case, as the packaging said. She seemed happy with my choice and I paid for that as well. Another $25. I was gonna have very little by the end of today. Damn my incomprehensible feelings toward her.

We finally returned home after eating lunch out at a fast food place called McDory's. Serena covered this one. The girl at the register was giving me eyes while we ordered, and Serena seemed to notice. She had pouted the entire time we ate.

At the apartment, I slung my coat onto a hook by the door I hadn't noticed before. I'd just been tossing my shit all over the floor. I suddenly felt very stupid. Serena made a point of kissing me on the lips as if to remind me I was hers. I guess she was still shook from McDory's. I hadn't even bothered to look at the girl and she was all flustered.

Note to self: don't look at other women.

As if that would happen, as far as I was concerned, I had the perfect one already with me. She was more than perfect really. She was just a goddess in my eyes, she could do no wrong.
