Annabeth was beginning to get slightly annoyed. Though this wasn't new, it felt a bit different.

About a month after Percy had settled in, he had found himself a girlfriend. That was what had begun to tick her off. She had felt something strange and new in the pit of her stomach. The lucky girl's name was Rachel Elizabeth Dare (RED).

Rachel was the daughter of a very rich business man. She had wild red hair, bright green eyes, and loved to gossip. She and Annabeth used to be good friends in middle school. But when they started freshman year Rachel started to push Annabeth away. She became more and more of a bitch. She had dated a lot of guys at Goode and was obviously looking for a new one after she had dumped her most recent one. The one thing that no one ever noticed about her was the paint stains on all her clothes, mostly because she tried to cover them up with silk scarves and expensive cloth. When she had seen Percy, she began her usual flirting routine.

They dated for about three weeks, Percy saw right through her and dumped her. About 10 minutes after he left her, she went off to find another victim.

About three days later, he found a girl named Calypso. She had cinnamon-smelling caramel hair that was always braided over her shoulder and dark almond-shaped eyes. She had a kind smile but it seemed a bit lost and sad. She had begun to wear long sleeves and hoodies since the beginning of the year. Nobody knew, but the reason was that her abusive father had escaped prison, so now she had to cover up cuts and bruises.

Percy was still currently dating her, but with Drew Tanaka always flirting with him, Calypso seemed to drift away from him, almost like she was trapped on an untouchable island surrounded by water. (Yes I wrote that on purpose.) They broke up after dating for 3 weeks, but they were still close, and people could see that he still cared for her a lot.

Annabeth had no idea why she felt so upset by the fact that he was with someone, but she planned to get to the bottom of it.

After school one day, Helen was out shopping, and her dad was gone, she took Bobby and Mathew to the playground. As she sat on the bench she watched how other kids interacted with their fathers.

As she watched a small boy get comforted by his father when he fell down she realized that she never had that kind of relationship with her dad, he was always traveling on work trips.

"Annabeth!"

She turned and Mathew sprinting in her direction with Bobby closely running behind, they both crashed into the bench that she was sitting on and started arguing with each other, "I won!" Bobby screamed, "No! No you Didn't" Mathew yellow back, Annabeth rolled her eyes, "I won, I was here first" she announced while standing up. They stared up at her and pouted, "you're no fun" Bobby grumbled.
