|| Haruto P.O.V. ||

'It's official, she's gone, gone...

And it's all my fault.

If only I wasn't so careless,

If only I watched where I was going,

If only I died instead....'

I bursed out into tears, my chest hurt so bad, I want it to stop. I want to stop the pain, my thoughts the sorrow.

"W-why...? Why did you leave when you did? I'm so sorry.... I- I should've protected you! I-I-I should of!-" I cried infront of her grave, I can't even put into words how hurt I feel... I, I, I wanna-

"B-big bro...?" A Shakey female voice said behind me.

'Kimi!?' I thought immediately as I turned behind me to see,

"Yumi chan? W-what are y-y-you doing here?" I asked trying to keep composure, but alas her sweet features reminds me to much of my dear friend.

"B-b-big bro!" She started crying as she ran up and hugged me

"E-e-eh!? K-kimi- I mean! Yumi c-chan! W-what are y-you doing!? We're are your p-parents?" I asked, getting better at holding back the sobs as she cried into my shoulder.

"T-t-they g-got h-hit b-by a b-big t-t-t-truck!" She sobbed uncontrollably, getting my clothes soaked in the process

"Shhh, i-it's okay... I'm here, big bro's here..." I comforted her as she cryed and cryed, getting tears all over my suit.

"B-b-big b-bro... T-thanks you..." She said quietly while giving me a tight hug, well, as tight as she could.

"Hmm... It's fine really. Now, do have another gardian to take care of you?" I said while pulling away from our hug

"Oh yeah! Other big bro! Comon! You gotta meet him!" She said as she took my hand and ran off to a little sunner area of the cemetery,

She pulled me to a grave with Sakura trees looming over the toom with Red Spider Lilies growing around the grave and trees.

"Is this your big brother?" I asked

"Yup! Big bro, meet other big bro! He's supa nice! He even let me cry into his shirt!" She said as she sat infront of the toom,

And almost as if it responded, the wind blew lightly causing some of the Sakura petels to flow off the trees and dance in the air as the lilies just swayed back and forth.

"Ya know big bro. What happens if I can't visit you anymore?" She asked her big bro

And just as coincidental as before the soft breaze stoped flowing, and the dance the flowers and petels were doing stoped. The petels softly swayed back and forth as they fell to the ground helping decorate the grass and make the lillies look even redder.

"I know you said that if I stop it'll make chu sad, but! I don't know where I'll be staying anymore... When dad got mad, I had the opportunity to get away. So that's when I would visit chu and grandma! But... Since I'm hoping to stay with other big bro, I don't know where he lives... So how can I come visit you?" She told him...

'When dad got mad? Was there father... Abusive?' I thought as I crowched down to admire the beauty of the small lilly up close.

The wind blew slightly again causing the petels to dance once again, and the lilies to sway once more.

"So big bro... I guess this is goodbye, I hope to visit you again!" She cried as she hugged the air...

I tried to to stair too weirdly as I continued to watch the silent dance portrayed by the breeze.

"I love you to big bro!" Yumi said happily as she stopped hugging big bro

|| Flashback ||

"I-I love... you"

Kimi said with her final breath as her eyes dulled

|| Presently ||

I couldn't help but let my eyes water, Yumi reminds me to much of Kimi... It really hurts knowing she's gone...

"Other big bro?" Yumi chan asked as she turned to face me,

"Why're you crying? Don't be sad! Be happy! Please...!" She said walking over and trying to make me smile by grabbing the ends of my mouth and bringing them up.

I couldn't help but smile at her cute attempts to make me smile...

"Grate! We can't have a sad big bro, now can we?!" She exclaimed

"So big bro, if I'm allowed to, I'll make sure to come back! " She exclaimed as she turned to leave, I follow close behind, but before I edit the area, I couldn't help but here a 'take care of her' as I left the small field.

Well, that was something new!

"So big bro!" I heard Yumi start,

"Yes?"

"Where are we going to be staying?" She asked innocently

"Hmm? Oh yeah! Take my hand okay? And i'll take you home." I told her as she held my hand and we walked out of the cemetery.

|| Time Skip! ||

"So this is your new home!" I said as I walked up to the door to unlock it,

"Wow, it's not that far from my old house and it's alot bigger!" She exclaimed examining the house with her eyes,

I swiftly unlocked the door and she dashed right inside, at awe at every little thing.

"Someone's excited, arn't they?" I say, staring at her with a sweet smile.

"Uh, huh!" She replied back, still staring at the things around her.

"Haruto? Who's-" M'y grandmother asked before she interrupted herself, staring wide eyes at the little girl before her.

"Oh, hi grandmother. This is-"

"Yumi Shiro! And you are miss?" She asked all excited,

"O-oh umm... Haruto, may I ask where you found this little girl? We should return her to her parents! But, hello dear! You may call me grandmother if that's not to much to ask." She said, holding her posture and looking sweetly down at the little girl before her.

"Oh! Okay Grandmother! My parents.... Got in hit by a truck! So I asked big bro if I could stay with him and he said sure!" Yumi told her,

"Hmm, okay, you may stay with us little one. Are you sure you don't have any other family memeber?" My grandmother asked, leaning down to her level.

"I only have big bro and other big bro!" She explained

"Oh can I meet this other big brother of yours?" My grandmother asked,

"Oh! Of course! I'll show you the way! Big bro? Do you want to come?" The small black haired girl asked, taking my grandmother's hand, ready to get out of the door.

"Nah, I have things to do here! Besides, I have to help onee-chan make supper. Tell big brother I said hi for me please" I told her,

"Okay! See you soon! And tell onee-chan hi too!" She said as she rand out with grandmother. Me having to close the door behind them.

"So, we have a little sister now?" I heard onee-chan said as she stood behind me

"Ah! Aish, onee-chan! Don't scare me like that! And yes, her parents got into a car accident. And she wanted to stay with me." I explained and she looked at me confused,

"Okay... So how do you know her?" She asked

"Well, the day I came home late because of... You know who... I was looking for her. When she called to say she was at my house, I immediately started walking while speaking. And then I was so lost in thought that I walked all the way over to the other side of town. I realized this and began walking in the right direction.

This time instead of turning where I was supposed to, I continued walking straight, and turning on another street. I went to the house where our house would be on our street. Unfortunately, I forgot my keys at school so I rung the doorbell. Yumi ended up opening the door, and we chatted before we parted ways, of course making me promise to come inside her house if I were to come back." I told her.

"Okay... Anyways, arn't you going to help with dinner? Come on! These vegetables arn't going to cut themselves!" She exclaimed in a happy mood, walking over to the shelf where we put our aprons and chef hats. She took her signature chef hat, and apron and immediately got to work with the soup. We were making homemade ramen Tonight so she got me to cut the vegetables.

|| Time Skip ||
|| A few decades later ||

|| 12th of March ||

|| Early Monday morning ||

'Todays's the day isn't it?, My dear please wait...'

I slowly got out of my bed, letting the solar rays hit my old wrinkled skin. Alot of time has passed... I can't believe how much time has passed, it's like it was yesterday the world let a delicate flower rip apart...

I slowly got up and did my morning routine, ate a small breakfast and got up to go. I didn't want to waste time of course. Today was one of those days where I would take seriously. Because Kimi wouldn't be the only person I vist...

I slowly walk over to Yumi's big brother's grave. Even after all this time I haven't learned his full name... What a shame. His grave is still sorounded by the trees and flowers but, erosion has unfortunately halfway distroyed his grave... So his name was never visable. When I first visited, it was visable. But, I'm too old to remember what it said...n

After I talked a little, I set off for the next grave.... My grandmother. She unfortunately passed away from desease a long time ago. But I still manage to visit her anyways. I talked to her, the wind telling me the responses. And I slowly walked away.

And finally, my dear Kimi... I stood infront of her grave, the lone Acer Palmatum 'Orange Dream' tree framing the scene. I looked over the grave slightly. Staring down at her final resting place. It was sad but, I know when death comes a-knocking, I'll except my fate and hope to meet her at the other side.

"So dear? How are you... I hope you're doing well because I am!" I told her enthusiastically, trying my best to keep a smile and not break down in tears.

The soft breeze comforts me, I let it fly through what's left of my white head of hair. Even if I'm wrong, I still feel as if she's here... Still walking beside me, talking to me... Eating with me... Spending every moment with me as if she's alive... But then again, it could just be my own fantasys...

I talk a little more with her and left slowly... My back slightly bent over as I lean on my cane for support... And with the little strength I have left, I left to go home...

But something unexpected happens, because you know! Nothing ever really goes my way...

As I cross the final street...

A car, no... A truck hits me....

I decided to make it into two parts because, well...

It's going to be my final chapters and I really enjoy this book!
I'm just sad to see it leave!

Well, at least I have an excuse to write another chapter.
Plus, it leaves you on suspense! So, it's a double whammy.
