Chapter 9

***The amount of confusion Im causing people with this story is amazing, haha . It'll all make sense soon. And I changed the title, it is now just a Panic! fanfiction because there were many people getting really confused in the beginning. That way there wouldn't be anymore confusion cx

I apologize in advanced for this chapter being on the shorter side...***

"What the hell is going on? The new addition?" Confusion was spread all across my mind. I just couldn't comprehend what was happening here. "I came here for what I wanted to see. A good show. Okay? Now, just leave me be because I want to go home." My eyes widen in shock as those words escaped my mouth. Never, in a thousand years, did I think that I'd ever say such a thing. Especially when I technically haven't had an actual home in over a decade.

"Unfortunately I don't make the rules around here, Ryan. My job is to just enforce them." She smiled at me, but ended up looking down as she did so. "If you would please follow me. He's expecting you." And with that, she turned and walked the other way. I guess I had nothing better than to just follow her.

As we walked to, who knows where, this situation played over and over in my head. I suggest you get to know the people you'll be working with. Working with? Like actually work with these people? In a circus?! Yeah, I know Ive dreamt about it for so long, but never did I ever think Id work in one. The new addition. This had to be some joke. And everyone was in on it. Brent set this up didnt he?

"Right in here, Ryan." The light haired woman directed me into what looked like the tent. It was now too dark to see any of my surroundings. She smiled at me before placing her hand on my back, giving me a slight push inside.

There was a very dim glow that filled the entirety of the interior. It was relaxing to say the least. The slight sound of people talking filled my ears. The sudden contact of the women's hand on my shoulder once again, caused my skin to crawl. She steps up next to me and smiles. A real, genuine smile.

"Ahh, there you guys are." His voice startled me. "Come, Mr.Ross. Come." He gave the woman behind me a glare and turned to walk the other way.

"I'll see you around, Ryan." The woman smiles and left the tent. I couldn't help but to feel a lingering want for her to be back by my side. She's the only one that's been kind to me in this horrid place.

"Quickly now, Ross." The man in red yelled over his shoulder. I sign before bringing up the courage to follow behind him. All of a sudden, the man in red stopped dead in his tracks. Causing me to come inches from bumping into him. Backing off a little, the man turned on his heel perfectly. Once again, the shade from his top hat was covering most of his face. He stared at me for a few moments, before giving me a slight smirk. "Have a seat, Ross." Without taking his gaze off me, he motioned to a seat directly to my left. The amount of uneasiness inside me was getting worse. I didn't trust this man, now I'm apparently going to be working with him? What the fuck is this? But I oblige and sit where he told me to. I've got to figure out a way to get out of here.

"Mind telling me what the hell is going on here?" I cross my arms and glare at the man.

"I do believe you already know the answer to that question." He looked in the other direction towards a few of the other performers. "Rusty! Woodrow!" Two of the performers perked their heads up as the rest continued to go about their business. The man in red motioned for them to come where we were. And on cue, both started to run in our direction. As they neared us, I was finally able to make out their features. One was a male, who was on the taller side. He had light scruffy hair and was on the muscular side of things. Quite unlike myself. The other, was a female who was quite the opposite from him. She was shorter than the man, with dark, almost jet black hair. Her eyes practically glowed a golden yellow and was fairly skinny.

"Yes, Leader?' The woman spoke up. Her voice was higher pitched than I thought It'd be.

"I'd like you two, to show Ross here the ropes of things around here. At least until I can be the one to train him. I'm entrusting you both with this task. Now," The man is red reached out and grabbed a fistful of my shirt, pulling me to my feet. "Go. I've got shit to do." The man pushed me into the two strangers standing in from of us, and he walked away.

"I'd like to apologize for his behavior, Ross." The woman spoke up. She grabbed my hand and started shaking it. "I'm called Woodrow. And this here," She referred to the man beside her, "is Rusty. He doesn't talk much. Or at all really. So you'll have to deal with my annoying and blabbering mouth. I also apologize in advanced for that." She let go of my hand and smiled.

"I..I don't want to be here. I don't belong here..I don't belong." I rub my temples in frustration.

"None of us want to be here." Woodrow grabbed my hands away from my face and made me look at her. "But none of us have anywhere else to go. For the longest time, we were all living off of basically nothing. But here, we actually have a place we can call home...at least for now that is. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is that, you'll get used to things here." She rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "Anyways!" She quickly clapped her hands together, causing me to jump. "Let us show you around, deary!" Both her and the man named Rusty, grabbed my arm and pulled me towards the center of the ring.

My childhood dream is slowly turning into my childhood nightmare. Here's to a life long time in hell.
