Philosophical Math
"Math is based on logic. 1 + 1 = 2. It makes sense. If you take 1 of something, and add another 1, you have 2.
"Even the more complicated stuff is logical. Like square roots. The square root of 4 is 2, because 2 x 2 = 4. Or, the square root of 4 is -2 because -2 x -2 = 4. That's why negative numbers don't have square roots.
"That's when math just throws all logic down the drain. A negative number CAN. NOT. HAVE. A SQUARE ROOT. It just can't. But all the mathematical people wanted it to happen. And they found it impossible.
"So what did they do? Did they say 'Negative numbers can't have square roots'? Did they just forget the whole thing? No. They CREATED ONE. The mathematicians just up and INVENTED a square root for -1. They called it i. They called it an 'imaginary number.'
"Imaginary things DONT. EXIST. Imaginary numbers CANT. EXIST. But they DO. There are NUMBERS that are imaginary. There is MATH that is imaginary. Fake. Made up! It's not logical! It's not math! It's literally just a fake term created from the mind of a stuck up mathy person who threw a fit because -9 couldn't have a square root! Why couldn't they just-"
"You have a lot of pent up anger at your math teacher, don't you?"
