The Last Sineiva- A Harry potter fanfiction.
Chapter One
'Honey, you'll be fine.' my mom said.
'I know I'll be fine. I don't want to go. This is my family now. This is my life. I don't want to be shipped off to some stupid school in England for freaks.' I yelled.
'They are not freaks. They are like you. They'll teach you how to control your powers. How to use it, honey.' She replied.
'Well I don't want to learn. I want nothing to do with them.' I said. My letter of admission to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry just arrived and rather than celebrating like most of the families probably were, we were arguing.
You see, I'm not a normal human being. The one tiny flaw that is hell bent on ruining my life. I was born into a witch and wizard family. At least that's what my mom says. My biological parents were supposedly really powerful and important so they had a lot of enemies. My adopted father was the doctor who handled my delivery. My birth mother died while giving birth to me and my biological father was killed two days later in a fire accident. Except it wasn't an accident. Someone set the fire intentionally to kill my biological father and me but I survived. No one knows. Well no one knew because my adopted father, the doctor kept me a secret but now everyone's going to know because of some stupid school. My father brought me back with him to America where he married my mom and we've been living a quiet life ever since. Yeah sure I may have magic powers but so what? That doesn't mean I have to go to a school for freaks. So what if I'm having a bit of a. . . problem controlling them.
I've grew up outside that world and in all honesty I'd rather not go back. I like my life as it is. I have no problems with it.
'Ava, I really think you should go. You should give it a chance. I don't you to grow up and regret throwing away this opportunity.' My mother sighed. She was growing tired off our conversation and honestly I was too. It wasn't going anywhere. Nothing is going to convince me to get return to that world.
'Okay, how does this sound,' my mother said hooking a lock of her fiery red hair behind her ear.
'Whatever offer you're going to make, I'm going to pass.' I stated.
'Ava you can't just ignore this part of your life!' she exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air.
'Just watch.' I gave her a sweet smile before grabbing my letter from the kitchen table. I marched into the living room and stood in front of the fireplace. I removed the screen and held my letter over the flames.
'No!' she screamed and snatched the letter from me. 'What do you think you're doing?'
'Well I was gonna burn it before you snatched it away.' I raised one eyebrow. She took a deep fortifying breath.
'Just listen to my offer.' she pleaded.
'Fine.' I huffed and crossed my arms.
'Just one year. Just one year. Spend one year. Just one year and if you don't like it, we'll remove you.' She said.
'Yeah. Thats not very compelling argument. Besides I can easily get myself expelled. These freaks do expel people right?' I said.
'Ava!' She ran her hand through her hair.
'What?'
'Come on. Please. Do it for me and your dad. I feel like we stole you from your old life.' She sighed.
'You can't steal something I never had.' I said.
'Please, just give them a chance. You are destined for great things and you're not gonna get them just sitting here.' She gestured to our living room.
'Actually destiny will find me no matter what I do or where I am. Thats why its destiny. You can't run from it. So if it is my destiny to be great, I will be. Whether I do it sitting here or at a school for witches is my choice.' I stated.
'You know its times like this that I hate that your so smart.' She rolled her eyes. I shrugged.
'Ava, please give this school a chance and if after your first year, you don't want to go back, you don't have to.' She said. I stared into her pleading blue eyes and felt my resolve weakening.
It's just one year. and then I'll be out of there and I won't have to go back. And it'll help mom and dad stop feeling this stupid misguided guilt they seem intent on torturing themselves with. I can survive one year. I mean how bad can it be?
'Fine.' I rolled my eyes. 'I'll do it.'
'Really?' her eyes widened with joy.
I smiled. 'Yeah sure, how bad can it?' I said.
'Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to your father and I.' she sighed. It better mean a lot because you're the only reason I'm doing it.
'Wizard school. yay.' I said drily. She pulled me in for a hug that made it all seem worth it.
That night, in the dark and quiet of my room, I admitted to myself the real reason I didn't want to go. I was scared. Scared of everyone knowing that the Sineiva daughter was alive. Scared of not measuring up to everyone's expectations. Scared of those who tried killing me before coming back to finish the job. And most importantly, scared of anyone of anyone finding out the truth about me.

Chapter Two
I waved at my parents one last time before getting on the train. You'd think a school of witches and wizards would have a better means of transportation than a train. I sighed and went into one of the many empty coaches. most of the students were still talking to their parents. They ranged from eleven year olds to probably seventeen year olds. I was being accepted into third year because of my age. The excitement rolling off the new intakes was stifling. Most of the old students too seemed happy to be back. They were mostly pale because of the London weather and lack of sun. I read somewhere that it rains nine months of the year here. A plump orange haired kid stood at the entrance of the coach. He looked to be ten or eleven.
'Walk away.' I ordered. I wasn't in the mood for company. as a matter of fact, I resolved to deal with people only when absolutely necessary that way the chances of anyone finding out about my secret would be slimmer. The seconds ticked away slowly as the train filled up. I could feel my freedom slipping away with every passing second. I clasped my locket tightly. I can do this. I have to.
