~Chapter 3~
"Hey. Nice to meet you guys."
Devin, on the shy side, gave a small smile and said nothing. Hort, however, ever the snarky little shit that he is, scoffed.
"What, like Prince Charming?" He asked, raising an eyebrow in disbelief. Y/n was a tad surprised by his attitude, and simply nodded.
"That's right." They muttered, looking back at Madden. Madden rolled his eyes and pulled Y/n along to the assembly, the other two following at their own pace. He led them through a large doorway into a grande hall, where the Nevers were sat on one side, and Evers on the other. There was a clear distinction between the schools, in many ways. From their clothing to their mannerisms. The Evers were polite, keeping their conversations quiet. They were dressed in ball gowns. The Nevers, however, didn't seem to have a care in the world as they laughed and talked loudly, quite the rambunctious group. They wore mostly black tattered clothing. Y/n sat down on the bleachers next to Madden, Hort sitting on the other side of them.
"Where are the guys?" They asked, realizing the Evers side consisted of only females. Madden smiled and went to answer, though Hort beat him to it.
"The Ever guys always do some kind of show to start off orientation each year. It's really quite..." He couldn't seem to find the right word.
"Hot?" Madden said with a smirk.
"Obnoxious." Hort grumbled, rolling his eyes. Y/n raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything more, simply humming shortly in response. The assembly began as the deans stepped up, though admittedly, Y/n zoned out for most of it. They weren't paying attention to what any of the school deans had to say. In their opinion, the only interesting part had been during the 'show' if you could even call it that. It was nice to see their brother, though he didn't seem to really fit in all that much yet either. And prince Tedros had fought a cyclops, which was rather entertaining. Watching the princesses fawn over a couple guys with swords was amusing to Y/n, so in all honesty, there wasn't much to complain about.
Well, except for Hort's snide comments about everything he could possibly make one about.
All was well until the headmaster walked in, and Y/n turned their attention towards him. Though his words were quickly interrupted by the likes of both a Never and an Ever. Readers, apparently. Though it caught their attention that the Never that spoke up thought she too was in the wrong school. Which checked out, considering she was a pretty little blonde who looked like she talked to animals and liked to bake. Though the Headmaster quickly waved a hand dismissively at their protests and assured them there were no mistakes at the School for Good and Evil. Y/n sighed a little at that, still not quite convinced they were in the right school either. Though they didn't get much of a chance to ponder that thought, as Madden pulled them up and weaved through the crowd to get back to the School for Evil.
Madden decided to invite Hort and Devin to stay and hang out for a bit, and so Y/n decided to go wander the school and make a mental map of the place before classes started the next day. Though after an hour or two, they realized they were a bit lost.
