I look back at the code, to try and figure out what was going on. It looks like no ones around right now. Probably a Genocide or Nuetral run. I pull up the humans information. Yup, LoVe. Let's check the current timeline. Spared Toriel, spared Papyrus, spared Undyne, spared Mettaton, killed 13 monsters, Asgore is dead, and the kid left. Seems to have been about eleven months since they left. It looks like it's on an Exiled Queen ending. Nothing too crazy, so let's see what's causing the problem. Ruins are normal, Snowdin is fine, Waterfall is ok, Hotland is good, and New Home is... Wait go back to Hotland. Now to the lab. And there it is. The Core is malfunctioning. Shoot, it looks like we're heading to a Horrortale Au split. That's one of the few that can try to develop into a new Au. Usually a timeline will be the one to form an Au, but that isn't the case here.

  "Alright, found the problem. We need to head to the lab. It looks like the Core is malfunctioning and the humans missing, which is destabilizing the Au." I tell them. Nightmare looks confused.

  "Can you even fix something like that? I don't know much about tech, but I thought only a Gaster know how to do anything to fix that thing." Reaper asks me.

  "That would normally be the case, but I may or may not have convinced my father to teach me anything and everything about it and his research. Which I may have written in a collection of books, that I may have studied during my imprisonment." I say smirking.

  "Always knew you were smarter than the rest of us. Alright, let's get going before things go down hill. I rather not be here if the Au splits like you said. Better to prevent it all together." Reaper tells me. I close the code and pull Nightmare into my arms.

  "We should shortcut there. It will be quicker. Stay invisible for the time being Reaper." I say.

  "I can hide in your shadow if you want. I figured out I could do that." Nightmare says. I think about it for a second.

  "Alright, but right after I shortcut. I don't want to accidentally leave you behind." I tell them. Nightmare nods in agreement, as they hold on to me.

  Reaper and I look to eachother and nod. I shortcut to the Core. Nightmare quickly melts into my shadow, as I look around. I see the machine in front of me. I can hear it making loud clanking noises. It seems to be on its last leg. I quickly head over to the controls and meters. Hmm. I looks like the power source seems to be running low. I'm not sure if it's just damaged or if it needs a new one. I pull out my phone and put on my headphones, putting on my playlist pressing play. Music always helps me concentrate when I need to. I pull out my tools from my inventory to get started.

  First, I figure out exactly why the power is low. I spend a good half an hour checking everything. As I work, my old experience becomes easier to remember. I soon see that the core had been damaged by someone. I find thin clean piercings in different areas of the machine's pipes. This was deliberate. I don't think I'll be able to fully repair the machine without replacement parts, but I can patch it up until I can find the human for a reset. I take out a few small plates of metal and pull up the code. I would blowtorch them on, but the core is too unstable for that. It's safer to permanently attach them via code, so I do just that. After a while I'm satisfied with my work. I check the energy levels again, to see they have risen and stabilized. Not completely, but it should be ok for the time being. I'm just finished putting everything away when I hear someone speak, "Wh-ho a-a-are yo-you?"

  I turn around to see that it's Underswap Undyne. I don't particularly care about being seen by her, but if this is turning into a Horrortale Au, I still needed to be careful. I keep my posture relaxed, but I start to get anxious. "NoBoDy YoU NeEd To WoRrY AbOuT FoR ThE TiMe BeInG. JuSt DrOpPiNg In To TaKe CaRe Of SoMeThInG. YoUr LuCkY I DiD To. If I HaDn'T YoUr UnIvErSe CoUlD HaVe BeEn DeStRoYeD, NoT ThAt YoU'lL ReMeMbEr ThIs OnCe I FiNiSh FiXiNg It." I say, my voice glitching. Undyne gives me a weary look.

"W-why-y d-do yo-you l-look l-l-like S-sans-s, b-but di-differ-erent?" She asks me.

  "AlSo SoMeThInG YoU DoN't NeEd To WoRrY AbOuT. JuSt KnOw ThAt If I CoMe BaCk To ThE CoRe NoT As I LeFt It, YoUr GoInG To HaVe A BaD TiMe. I'm NoT In ThE MoOd To DeAl WiTh AnY FuNnY BuSiNeSs." I threaten, as pull up the code to locate the human Chara, "NoW, If YoU'lL ExCuSe Me I HaVe A HuMaN To Go FiNd. It LoOkS LiKe ThEy ArE In A BiT Of A SiTuAtIoN." I say. Nightmare comes out of my shadow hiding behind me and holds on to me.

  I teleport next to a building on the surface. Reaper reappears. "Was threatening them really necessary?" He asks me. I sigh.

  "Yes. You wouldn't know, but being able to see the timeline has its perks. The Core had been purposely damaged. At first I thought it was the human who did it, so I checked what happened in the timeline. It was Undyne and Alphys that sabotaged the Core, causing a magic shortage. That lead to a food shortage. Then, they proceeded to overthrow the queen. They just attacked the Papyrus and Sans in this Universe, which is probably who called for help. Now, we need to break a human out of a mental institution. They're currently drugged up, so not coherent enough to reset." I say without glitching, now that I'm calmer.

  "What does that mean?" Nightmare asks me.

  "It mean that they gave them medicine they didn't need and it's making the human sick. We better hurry before things get worse." Reaper says. We nod.

  "Stay here for a moment you two, I'll go get them since I can find exactly where they are. I'll be right back." I say, putting my hood and scarf up.

  I teleport inside the building directly into the building. I pull up the building scematics to find the file room. Once I do, I teleport there. I quickly go through the file cabinets to find Swap Chara's information. Once I do I take it and put it in my inventory. I then teleport to Swap Chara. I seem to be in a white room with cushion walls. I shiver, reminded of the Anti-Void. In the middle, is a child wearing a straight jacket. They had light skin, with brown hair and red eyes. They were mumbling to themselves incoherently, eyes glassy. They look dirty, as if they hadn't been taken care of. I make my way over to them. It was pretty painful seeing a version of Chara like this. I quickly pick them up into my arms. I glitch a bit at the contact, but am able to calm them down. They are so light. The people must not have been feeding them properly. They become somewhat aware and look up at me. "Who are you?" They ask quietly, almost hopefully.

  "A friend, kiddo. I'm taking you out of here. The Underground needs their angel. Just hold on." I say as I cradle them to my chest. I feel them start to silently cry in relief. I shortcut back outside.

  "Looks like you got them, maybe you should put them down. Wait... is that a straight jacket?! And, why are they so dirty?!" Reaper exclaims.

  "They aren't heavy. Whoever runs the place, wasn't taking care of them. They were just stuck in an isolated cushioned room. I'm not sure what meds they stuck them on, but they clearly aren't having a good reaction. Hopefully they become aware enough to reset before they start to have withdrawals. I don't feel safe trying to ween them off of them. We should get out of here before anyone realizes they're missing. Meet me in Snowdin infront of the skeleton brother's house. Make sure you two stay hidden. Hold on to me tight Nightmare, I won't be able to have a grip on you with Chara in my arms." I say.

  Nightmare comes and wraps their arms around my waist. Reaper disappears and I follow after him. Then, we appear in front of an old, two story wooden house decorated with Christmas lights. Nightmare sinks back into my shadow, and Reaper is once again invisible. I make sure my face is still hidden, and walk to the front door. I knock firmly. After a few moments the door opens and I'm greeted by a skeleton.
