Chapter Four
The sun was just beginning to set as Ghost and Toast were working inside, a map on the table in front of them, lists of names, names of people, and different types of ghosts, names of victims, lists of things each victim shared. They were going over them for around the third time, Toast still paying close attention to every detail while Ghost seemed to zone out, looking around at everything in the room. He glanced outside, then back at Toast, and muttered something about getting fresh air. Toast nodded at him, gave him a smile, and went back to his work.
Toast examined the list of details of each victim, scanning for the addresses of their murder. Once he found them, he marked it on the map in front of him, taking a sip of his tea before jotting down the next one. He continued doing this until he ran out of addresses, looking it over to see if they were connected by anything. He looked at the places near them; maybe they were all close to a certain business, a gas station, maybe they were all near a lake, anything that may connect them.
He scanned over the map for a long time, not finding anything. It had been about thirty minutes, and by this point he'd zoned out, staring at one spot without realizing. When he snapped out of it, he took a second to study the spot he had been staring at closer.
There, he found the point right in the center of all of these murders. Surrounded by all of this violence, Ghost and Toast's own apartment sat, untouched, every other murder happening the same distance away from them.
Toast had to wonder if this was coincidence, or if maybe, there was something linking them to the center of these crimes.
Whoohoo! I'm on time! Hope you enjoyed this chapter, tell me your thoughts. Bye!-Bob
