A Love Spell And A Long Night

Author's Note: Thank you to LilGalaxyTiger from Quotev for the idea used in this chapter and the next. I hope you all enjoy it and please let me know what you all thought.

"Oh sorry were we being too loud?" Evie asked in her fake ditzy voice hoping to distract the Auradon girl who was standing at the door.

Evie was just hoping that Lonnie didn't overhear them otherwise they would be in some serious trouble and Evie really didn't feel like dealing with more problems right now.

"Yeah a little bit but it's fine. Oh I see what's going on. Midnight snack huh whatcha guys making?" Lonnie asked, causing the others to secretly sigh in relief that it didn't seem like Lonnie had heard them before.

"Nothing special, just cook..." Mal began but didn't get to finish as Lonnie just dipped her finger into the batter causing the four of them to panic.

"Why would you do that!" Mal screamed out as she couldn't control herself. Lonnie could have just ruined everything.

"What I'm not going to double dip and I love cookie dough batter," Lonnie told the Vks as she didn't understand why they were all just staring at her and not really saying anything and why Mal had started with another outburst.

"Well you could..." Mal began but Evie immediately stopped her as she could tell Mal was having a tantrum and the last thing they needed was a suspicious person.

"Sorry Mal just prefers people not to touch her batter while she's cooking and she can get kinda grumpy when they do," Evie told Lonnie who just slowly nodded as she wasn't sure whether to believe it or not.

"So anyway um feel anything?" Evie asked Lonnie, trying to see if the love spell had worked on her or not. Mal just nodded as she joined in just hoping that Lonnie wouldn't have been affected by the spell.

"Yeah like maybe it's missing something," Mal asked, trying her best to prevent another outburst from happening, which was becoming harder and harder on her.

Jay just smiled as he decided to try it out himself as he got close to Lonnie and gave her a flirty smile. "Hey there," Jay told Lonnie in his best flirty voice causing Lonnie to just look at him awkwardly as she didn't feel anything and she just found it uncomfortable.

"It could use some chips," Lonnie told the Vks with a shrug as she didn't understand what was really happening, but figured it was probably just them being new to things.

The four others all just looked at each other in confusion as they didn't understand what Lonnie was even talking about.

"And those are!" Mal asked with an attitude as she was starting to get frustrated. She was exhausted and didn't like that Lonnie couldn't seem to get that they didn't want her there.

All Mal wanted to do was finish up the cookie spell that she didn't even want to do, but she knew would bring her closer to herself again and then get to bed. Lonnie was dragging this out though and making things so much harder.

Lonnie didn't seem to notice Mal's frustration though as she went to the fridge and pulled out a bowl of chocolate chips. "Chocolate chips. Just the most important food group," Lonnie told the others as she just started to pour some of the chocolate chips into the bowl causing both Mal and even Evie to look at the batter in confusion.

"Wait, didn't your moms ever make you guys like chocolate chip cookies," Lonnie began, causing the four of them to look over at her in sadness. Jay never really had a mom, Carlos' mom was a crazy lunatic who used him as a slave, and Evie's mom had stolen their baby from them.

And Mal just felt like crying as she knew her mom was standing next to her and she couldn't even embrace that. Lonnie's words were really starting to make this harder for any of them to keep up with their acts.

Especially Evie who was trying so hard to not lose it as she thought about herself and how much she had failed her own baby. She was supposed to protect her and she had failed. If she had been a better mother they wouldn't have been here right now and things would be better.

Evie would take living on that horrible isle for the rest of her life if she could just get her baby back and Evie absolutely hated living on the isle.

Evie was brought out of her thoughts when she heard the dreaded words she never wanted to hear. "I just you know I thought even villains love their kids," Lonnie told them, causing Evie to have to hold back her urge to just start going off. She felt absolutely sick just thinking about her mother and how much she hated her for what she did to her.

Her mother absolutely did not love her if she had loved her then she wouldn't have stolen Evie's baby from her and put her through this pain and torture that she has been forced to endure.

Luckily for Evie before she had the opportunity to go off on Lonnie and just start exposing herself Lonnie let out a small tear in which Mal wasted no time grabbing as she threw it in the batter. Mal could sense that Lonnie was upsetting Evie and she didn't like that.

Even if Evie had no clue that Mal knew yet she was still her mommy and she didn't like how Lonnie was hurting her mommy and making her upset. Mal didn't really understand emotions very well, but she could still sense her mom was hurting and she just wanted it to stop.

Not to mention she was also extremely tired and just wanted to go to sleep. Once Mal had the tear in the batter she immediately pushed Lonnie out and they finished up the cookies.

Evie sighed as she sat in her bed and tried to sleep. They had finally finished up with the stupid love spell cookies that Evie was still hating that they had gone with that plan.

Mal was fast asleep curled up in a ball as she had been so ready to crash as soon as they had gotten back and Evie didn't blame her. Even though Mal didn't know it she was still a baby and staying up late definitely made her tired.

It was easy for Mal to crash, but Evie was just struggling completely. She knew she was tired, she could feel it, but Evie was afraid of what dream would hit her next as soon as she closed her eyes.

Sometimes it was the torture of losing her baby repeated again and again which always kept her up at night or it would be a happy memory of her and her baby which would just hurt her worse. Every dream she could possibly have right now was going to make her feel worse and Evie just couldn't bear that anymore.

Her reality was already a struggle to get by and now she was being haunted in her own dreams as well. Evie also just couldn't stop feeling guilty and blaming herself for this. If she had just listened to her gut and not gone to sleep that night then she would have her baby still and she would be happy.

Instead she was struggling constantly everyday just trying to get her baby back and having to put up a front that everything was normal when it wasn't. Evie was about to just allow her 6 month old to go out on a date with some boy.

Technically she looks and acts 16 but it was still so wrong and Evie wanted to stop this, but she just wanted her baby back at this point and she was desperate to try anything.

Before Evie could officially give into all her dark thoughts she heard a knock at the door causing her to quickly get up as she didn't know who that could be but she didn't want the loud noise to wake Mal up.

Mal was finally sleeping peacefully and the last thing she needed was for her to be woken up as Mal's glamor was still glitching and Evie just knew if whoever was making that noise woke her up then Mal wouldn't be able to control herself at that point and Evie didn't want that.

Evie just quickly opened the door and was about to start yelling when she saw who was at the door as she immediately felt all rage and anger disappear. "I'm sorry I know it's late, but I just really need to talk to someone. Is Mal here?" Jane asked Evie in a tone that Evie could easily recognize was filled with pain.

Evie couldn't believe she was thinking this but she was actually feeling bad for the younger girl. "Oh um actually Jane she's sleeping and I rather we not wake her. I could probably let her know in the morning that you stopped by," Evie told Jane as she didn't know how to deal with a situation like this.

She figured that the last conversation Mal had with Jane must have had an impact on her even though Mal was completely unaware of the things she was even saying and Evie knew that.

Evie really didn't want to deal with this right now and she definitely didn't want to get Mal involved in a situation that she wasn't going to understand. Evie still had trouble with how to deal with emotions sometimes she couldn't even imagine how hard that must be for Mal who is really just a baby and probably has no sense of what emotions even are.

"Oh um that's okay I just really needed to talk to someone right now but it's okay I should probably go. It's really late. Sorry for disrupting you," Jane told Evie as a few tears started to slip down her face.

Evie tried so hard to just let it go, but as soon as she saw the painful look on Jane's face mixed with the tears she just couldn't do it.

"Wait Jane, it's okay. I'm actually kind of finding it hard to sleep right now. If you wanted to maybe talk to me that's always an option. I'm not Mal but I'm still a pretty good listener. I would probably prefer it to not be in my dorm though just because Mal gets really cranky when she's woken up from her sleep," Evie told Jane in her caring voice she knew she was starting to break character but she couldn't help it.

Seeing Jane like this just made her feel something and she just wanted to help the younger girl. It was probably Evie's maternal instincts, but she just couldn't leave Jane like this. It was obvious that something happened and it was hurting the young fairy.

Evie smiled a little when she saw Jane wipe her tears as she let out a small smile. "Yeah I would actually love that thanks and it's okay I know the perfect place we can talk in private and won't disrupt anyone," Jane told Evie who just nodded as she quickly made sure Mal was still fast asleep as she then left the dorm and followed after the younger girl.
