Happy Memories Can Sometimes Be The Hardest Ones
Author's Note: Hey everyone I'm really sorry for the long wait. Anyway again this takes place during my little Mal series and for those of you that haven't read my texting story Evie's Struggles I recommend reading that as this goes with it. Anyway thank you to ItzChloeBby for the story request. I hope you all enjoy this and please let me know what you all thought.
*On The Screen*
Evie just sat on her bed sobbing uncontrollably. She was in so much pain and she didn't like what her mommy did to her. She knew her mommy was mean to her, but she had been screaming and begging her mommy to help her and she didn't.
"Evie?" Evie heard causing the toddler to look up and she smiled a little when she knew exactly who that was. "Sawa!" Evie cried out causing Sara to immediately pull the toddler into a tight hug as she just held her close and rubbed her back.
"Shh you're okay. What happened princess?" Sara asked her baby sister who just started sobbing again as she thought about what happened.
Sara had been absolutely terrified when she had been informed that the daycare had been attacked and Evie was taken home by force. She didn't know what happened but it was obvious whatever happened had completely traumatized the poor toddler.
"Hey it's okay. You don't have to tell me. It's okay. I'm so sorry I failed you Evie. I tried so hard to protect you and I still failed. I'm so sorry blueberry," Sara cried out as she just held Evie close to her and started crying as she was feeling like the worst big sister ever.
She had vowed to protect her baby sister and she had failed at that. She should have taken Evie with her to work, but she had been so careless.
"You no fail me. I wob you Sawa," Evie told her big sister as she gave her a little bit of a smile trying to act like she was fine as she didn't want to make Sara sad.
"I love you too blueberry," Sara told Evie, making her giggle a little before she started crying in pain again. "It hurts!" Evie cried out as she was trying her best to stay strong like she was always told because princesses don't cry, but it was just hurting too much.
Sara just nodded sadly as she didn't know what that monster had done to her baby, but it was obvious that Evie was in pain somewhere that wasn't visible. "I know Evie, it's okay. Just let it out. Remember you might be small and tiny," Sara told her baby sister as she put her hands on Evie's cheeks and Evie giggled as she did the same to Sara.
"But I'm stwong an ighty!" Evie told Sara who smiled sadly as she released Evie's face and she pulled her close to her again. "I love you blueberry, never forget that okay," Sara told her sister and Evie smiled as she laid her tiny head on Sara's chest and began to fall asleep as she felt safe and protected with Sara holding her.
*Screen Goes Black*
"Well that was actually pretty sweet," The therapist told Evie who just slowly nodded as this memory while it wasn't a bad one it was almost worse. She had completely forgotten about Sara and now that these memories were resurfacing it felt like she was losing her all over again which was painful and made her just want to scream.
"Are you okay?" Evie's therapist asked her in concern when she saw the tears that were slowly making their way down Evie's cheeks. Evie just nodded as she didn't feel like speaking right now. This memory had reminded her just how much Sara had been like her mother and right now Evie just wanted her back.
Evie wanted Sara to come in and hold her like she used to and just tell her that everything would be okay, but that was impossible. Sara was gone and she wasn't coming back. And this memory felt like it was just twisting the knife.
"Can we just call it for today? I don't feel well," Evie told her therapist which honestly wasn't completely a lie as Evie really wasn't feeling all that well after those last few memories. "Are you sure? That one wasn't that bad and I feel like we're making progress," The therapist told Evie who just shook her head as she grabbed her stuff.
"I really don't feel well right now. I'm sorry I'll um see you tomorrow I guess," Evie told her therapist as she quickly left the room. "Hey you okay?" Evie heard as she looked over to see Lola who was "babysitting" her today. "I'm fine, can we just go," Evie told Lola with a bit of an attitude as she was upset and didn't feel like talking about her feelings.
Evie knew it was wrong to not tell the others about Sara yet considering Sara was their sister as well, but they didn't know Sara like Evie did. "Alright grumpy let's go," Lola playfully told Evie trying to lighten the mood a little bit as she wasn't the best when it came to serious situations like this.
Evie just rolled her eyes as she wasn't in the mood to play around with Lola as she just got into the car and buckled up. "So um what did you guys talk about?" Lola asked Evie who just rolled her eyes again. "It's confidential," was all Evie said, causing Lola to just nod as she could tell that Evie wasn't in the mood.
"Okay well all jokes aside you know you can always talk to us if you need it okay," Lola told Evie in her most serious voice as she wanted Evie to understand that she wasn't joking about that. Evie just nodded again as she unbuckled and got out as soon as they reached the house.
Once they got inside Evie once again barely looked at April and Ava as she just went straight to her room. "Why did you have to leave me! I thought you cared about me, but you clearly didn't! You can have your stupid necklace back I don't want it anymore!" Evie cried out as she took off her necklace and was about to throw it when something inside her stopped her.
"What am I doing!" Evie practically called out again as she immediately pulled her arm out of the throw position and just held the necklace close to her as she broke down sobbing. "I don't understand what I did wrong!" Evie wailed out as she just continued to hold the necklace close to her and sob until she passed out from crying too much.
*The Next Day*
"Evie you're here early," the therapist told Evie who just nodded as she held the necklace up. "I'm done keeping this necklace a secret. I need to know what happened and why Sara left me," Evie told the therapist who just nodded as she tried to hold back a smile as she knew this was a sign of progress at least she was hoping it was.
"Okay well then let's continue," the therapist told Evie who just sighed as she knew this was probably going to be painful to watch again, but last night had been torture and she was sick of having no answers. She needed to know what made Sara leave and how she could just do that to her.
"Here we go," Evie whispered as she saw the screen start to turn on again as she really hated this, but this was the only way to get the answers she needed.
