Chapter 2: Mal's Back

  Evangeline's P.O.V.

I was at Lady Tremaine's Hair and Dye with Dizzy, daughter of Drizella. I was helping her clean the shop.

She was sweeping and I was organizing some of the products she had.

Dizzy was like a little sister to me. Evie and I absolutely adored the little girl. She is more Auradon like than Isle like.

She has always wanted to go to Auradon, but I guess her grandmother wouldn't let her.

At least that's something we have in common.

"Hey, Evangeline?" she asked me.

"Yeah?" I replied.

"I saw you and Gil earlier today together. Is there something going on between you two?" she asked.

I suddenly felt a blush creep onto my cheeks.

"More like something going on with me. My feelings for him." I explained.

"Omg! You have a crush on the son of Gaston! How come you never told me?" she squealed, followed by a bang as well as a 'Knock it off!' from Lady Tremaine.

"I thought you would hate the fact that I liked the best friend of the two people you hate the most." I explained.

"Evangeline, I think you and Gil look adorable together!" she said.

"You really think so?" I asked the little girl.

"What if I said yes?" she asked. I smiled and continued with sorting out the hair dyes and nail polishes.

"You should tell him." she told me. I sighed as I looked at her.

"I want to, but it's not easy, Dizzy." I told her.

"Why isn't it easy?" she asked.

"One, I've had feelings for him since he and I were kids. And Two, I don't want to ruin our friendship by telling him." I explained.

"I see." she told me.

"I'll be right back, Diz." I told her. She smiled and nodded before she put on her headphones.

I walked until I got to the door. I opened it and slowly got out before closing it.

I turned around and as I did, I felt myself bump into somebody.

"Sorry. My bad." I told them.

"It's fine." they replied.

I looked up and I gasped as I saw who it was. I couldn't believe she was here.

Mal was here.

"Mal?" I asked with wide eyes.

She had the same expression as mine.

"Evangeline?" she asked.

I smiled and nodded before I wrapped my arms around her, which she responded. I felt tears pour in my eyes as I hugged the daughter of Maleficent.

We soon pulled away after five minutes of hugging.

"What brings you here and how's Evie?" I asked her.

"She's fine. She hasn't stopped talking about you to all the other Auradon kids." she explained.

I smiled at her sentence.

'Thank the gods . Evie hasn't forgotten me.' I thought to myself.

"And me, well, I don't want to continue living in Auradon. I've been through so much pressure because of the royal cotillion coming up. Reporters taking photos of me and asking questions every single time they see me. I realized that I don't belong over there. I am and always will be an Isle girl. I decided to come back." she explained.

"Well, welcome back." I told her with a smile.

"Hey, Evangeline. Is Dizzy in there?" she asked.

"Yeah. However, she's not open until midnight." I told her.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot." Mal said.

"But come in. You're not a really popular person here anymore and last thing we want is Uma finding you." I told her as I grabbed her hand and pulled her inside with me.

I led her into the salon and she looked around at the paint splattered walls and floors, etc.

Dizzy saw us and her eyes brightned up as she saw Mal.

"Mal! Is Evie back too?" she asked her as she removed her headphones.

"As if." Mal replied.

"I forgot you guys don't open until midnight. Place looks good." Mal told her. Dizzy smiled as she looked around.

"So, what's your deal? I mean, has your grandmother given you any customers yet?" Mal asked her.

"Oh, just a witch here and there. Mostly it's a lot of scrubbing, scouring, and sweeping. Lots and lots of sweeping." she replied.

"Sounds like the old Cinderella treatment, eh?" Mal asked her.

Dizzy nodded her head.

"Good thing I've helped you out." I said as I patted her head.

"Yeah. She's gone from wicked stepmother to wicked grandmother." she explained.

"That's not really much of a switch." Mal said.

"Hey, Dizzy. You used to do Evie and Evangeline, right?" she asked her.

"Yeah. I thought of little braids. Also. I thought of black for her and she pulled it off." Dizzy explained.

"You have any ideas for me?" Mal asked. Dizzy did a little analysation with her fingers before walking to Mal.

"The washed out blonde with purple tips?" she asked her. I did a little studying and agreed.

"I agree. You literally pulled it off when you had the purple look." I explained.

"The best of no worlds. You can't even see where your face ends and hair begins." the daughter of Drizella added.

Mal and I chuckled before she sat down on a chair and I took her bag and set it down.

"Oh, what is this? Bored-to-death pink?" Dizzy asked as she turned Mal around.

"Talk about a extreme makeover." I said.

"How far can I go?" she asked.

Mal shrugged slightly.

"That works. I mean, whatever makes me feel like me, but, you know. Way worse." she explained with a little smirk.

"Yay." the young girl said as she got her giant pair of scissors.

"Do your magic Diz."

*3 Hours Later*

Wow, what a makeover.

Mal looked so amazing with her new look. She now had magenta colored hair that Dizzy had straightened as well as made some bangs.

Dizzy turned her around to face the broken mirror.

"Hey. There I am." Mal said.

"Voilà." me and Dizzy told her.

"Voilà." Mal repeated as she handed Dizzy what seemed like money of some kind.

"For me?" the adorable little girl asked.

"You earned it." Mal told her.

Dizzy giggled before she went past us and ran into none other than him.

"Fork it over, you runt." Harry ordered her. She gave the money to him as he tapped the table with his hook.

"And the rest of it." Dizzy went to the cash register and gave all the money that was in there to Harry.

"Thank you." he said before he began to walk away.

"Still running errands for Uma or do you actually get to keep what you steal?" Mal asked him.

"Well, well, well. What a nice surprise." he greeted.

"Hi, Harry." she greeted.

"I see my dear friend has reunited with you. Just wait until Uma hears your back. She's never gonna give you the old territory." he told her as he got closer to her.

"Oh. Well, that's okay. Because, me and Evangeline will be taking it." she told him. He then ran his hook through her hair.

"I could hurt you."

I got in between them and pushed them apart.

"Harry, that's enough. Mal, please stop." I told the two people I considered my brother and sister.

"Well, well, well. I see you're taking her side." the son of Hook told me.

"I'm not. But, please. You two just..don't. Not while I'm here." I explained to them.

Harry glared at Mal and looked at me before walking away, but not before thrashing what was on the table and sending a bow before leaving.

"Great. More sweeping." Dizzy said.

"Dizzy, you don't have to. I'll pick them up." I told her as I began to pick up the stuff that were on the floor, Mal helping out until it was all clean.

"We gotta go. See you soon, Dizzy." Mal said.

"Bye, girlies." she responded before she put on her headphones.

Mal and I linked arms before we walked out.

"So, I see you're still with them." she told me.

"I had no where else to go. My mom wouldn't let me go with you guys. Besides, Harry and Gil are the only reasons I stayed." I explained.

"Speaking of which, how are things with you and Gil?" she asked me. I blushed as she asked me that.

"Good." I replied.

"Has he asked you out, yet?" she asked.

"No. I don't even think he likes me back. I think he has a thing for Gothel's daughter or even Hans' daughter." I explained to her.

"You're going to have to make a move." she told me.

"I know. But, I don't want to ruin things between us." I said.

"Well, we'll see what happens." she said.

We then got to what seemed like an abandoned apartment of some kind and went inside.

Mal set her stuff down and got out two spray paint cans.

"Here." I smiled as I took it before she and I began spray painting the walls.

"Hey, Mal?" I asked.

"Yeah?" she replied.

I sent her a smile and gave her a pat on the shoulder.

"I'm glad you're back."
