Suzie Do You Copy

Natalie got the job at Scoops, it can be frustrating at times, but at least it's funny watching Steve miserably fail with another girl. In the back of the room, Robin has this YOU SUCK/ YOU RULE board and the tallies on the YOU SUCK SIDE kept multiplying. God she's hilarious, Natalie felt like this summer, she's laughed so much around her.

Natalie dropped Moira off with the party and started heading to Scoops Ahoy. She paused and took a deep breath before walking inside the parlor. The vanilla smell hitting her nose. Her heart was racing and it wasn't because of the walk, it was because of her

Robin Buckley

She is leaned causally against the counter, the uniform suiting her more. She just smiled at her, god that smile made her stomach flip. " Hi...."Natalie said, her voice almost a whisper

" Hi.."

She scoots over an inch, to avoid any awkwardness. Everytime she's at least close to her, Natalie could feel this weird sensation in her stomach.

Ding

The bell suddenly rang, revealing Moira and the party Turns out this whole time there was a shortcut to the movies, and it was at Scoops. They look impatient.

Robin raised her eyebrows and looked  at Mike. They raised her voice loud enough that Steve could hear " HEY DINGUS, YOUR CHILDREN ARE HERE!"

Steve slid the two doors open, already annoyed, it's the second time this week. "Again, seriously"

Mike rings the bell again as Lucas, Max, Will and Moira look serious. He opens the door for the kids, rushing them out. "Come on, Come on."

"If anybody hears about this..."

"We're dead," the kids say in unison.

Natalie let out a slight chuckle, she is happy that Moira gets to be a normal teenager alongside the party. But it was also quite funny to watch Steve take the baby sitter role for the kids. In fact sometimes she would jokily call him their mama. Steve pulled the door open to Scoops Ahoy, stepping aside to let Natalie walk through first. All though she can get on his nerves sometimes, it's the least he could do. He let out a sigh watching the kids disappear into the movies.

Things felt boring but normal. The three were just serving customers. The hum of the mall suddenly faded when the lights went out. Steve froze mid motion, his hand holding a ice cream cone. He squinted into the darkness, his eyes adjusting to the light. He glanced at Robin and then back at Natalie. "That's weird" Steve said, his voice breaking the silence

Steve started messing with the switch, repeatedly, the two just watched in disbelief. Robin just shook her head "That isn't going to work Dingus," she said, her voice sounding more tired than usual

Natalie couldn't help but roll her eyes, her face is full of frustration. She muttered under her breath. "Idiot"

Steve stopped flicking the switch and stared at the two with a blank look on his face. "Oh really!"

He started flicking the switch even more for a couple of seconds. Then the lights turned back on. Natalie started to wonder, why is there a power outage all of a sudden. Steve froze for a bit, blinking at the sudden flow of the light. "Let there be light."

Robin just smirked; did he really think that work. Natalie could feel her cheeks go pink; she had no idea why she felt this way.

Everything after that, went completely normal, the two ladies are in the back just waiting to see if Steve could actually get a girl, Natalie bit her lip, trying not to break into laughter. Steve leaned at the counter trying to look smooth. "Alrighty, one scoop of chocolate. That's a buck-twenty-five. Anything Else?"

The girl gave him her money,Steve raised an eyebrow taking in her light blue shirt with a familiar logo on it "OH, Purdue. Fancy."

The girl gave Steve a slight smile.

" Yeah, I'm excited."

He wasn't going to allow himself to get embarrassed, he was King Steve for crying out loud. He still got confidence to spare, so he started lying to try to impress her

"Yeah, you know, I considered it, Purdue, but then I was like, you know what? I think I need some real-life experience, you know, before I hit college, to see what it feels like."

The two ladies just looked at each other for a second.

"Kinda like, uh, I don't know, see what it's like to earn a working-man's wage, you know? Uh- Oh sorry," He stammered as the register started to act up.

"I think that's, like, really important."

"Yeah totally."

He started to chuckle nervously. He wasn't sure why but asking someone to hang out felt like the hardest thing in the world

"Yeah, anyway, this was, like, so fun. We should kind of like, you know, I don't know, maybe hang out this weekend or."

Steve froze for a second, watching as the coins scatter across the counter, just like Robin did when she first met Natalie.  " Oh, sorry about that. Uh...I don't know. Maybe next weekend or..."

"Yeah, I'm busy."

Steve nodded quickly trying to keep his cool, "Oh, that's cool. I'm...I'm working here next weekend, so...the following weekend's better for me."

"No. I'm sorry, I can't. Okay. Thanks."

Steve watched as the girl walked away. He stood there, frozen for a moment. He could feel his face flush with embarrassment. Steve muttered to himself . "I... This is... my first day here."

Steve sighed, hearing Natalie's laughter ring out . Robin liked the sound of that. She grabbed the board.  "And another one bites the dust."

Robin marked the board leaving yet another tally. " You are oh-for-six, Popeye." Her voice is full with amusement

Steve hung his head low and he let out a sigh. "Yeah, yeah, I can count. Will you stop laughing?"

Natalie bit her lip, trying to stifle her laugh, that threatened to come out " No"

Robin grabbed the marker and puts a tally on the board "You know that means you suck, "

Steve nods his head. "Yep, I can read, too,"he muttered

Robin raised an eyebrow, her smirk widened on her face. "Since when?"

Natalie let out a slight chuckle.

Steve leaned against the counter. "It's this stupid hat. I am telling you; it is blowing my best feature,"

Natalie raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms on the counter  " Are you sure about that?"

Robin leaned closer. "Yeah, company policy is a real drag. You know, it's a crazy idea, but have you considered...telling the truth?" Her voice is filled with sarcasm

Natalie points at Robin, she started to blush a little

"Oh, you mean, that I couldn't even get into Tech and my douchebag dad trying to teach me a lesson, I make three bucks an hour, and I have no future? That truth?" Steve blurted out

Natalie has a fake pout on her face. "Aw how sad" she said playfully

Robin points at Steve, motioning him somewhere "Hey, twelve o'clock."

A group of girls approach Scoops Ahoy. Steve took in a deep breath

"Okay... Uh...I'm going in. Okay? And you know what?"He paused for a second, Steve took off his hat and throws it to the back with a flick of his wrist. "Screw company policy."

Robin shook her head. "Oh, my God, you're a whole new man," she teased, her voice dripped in sarcasm

Steve did a little dance before turning around and startling the girls "Right? Ooh.Ahoy, ladies! Didn't see you there.Would you guys like to set sail on this ocean of flavor with me? I'll be your captain. I'm Steve Harrington. Can I get you guys a little taste of the Cherries Jubilee? No? Anybody? Banana Boat? Four people, four spoons? Share it in the booth?"

Natalies jaw dropped while Robin furrowed her eyebrows. She grabbed the marker marking a new tik on the board.
