IMPORTANT NOTE:

If there is any story on Wattpad with this title, I had not meant to target it, I'm not talking specifically about any single story. I'm only referring to cliche stories so if you ever came across a book which doesn't match these points, well and good, that means it is non cliche. And even now there are a lot of non cliche books out there as well.

Anyhow, finally...

We are today discussing the Damon Salvatore cliche plots.

O rather, the Damon x female OC plots.

It took me real long to write this chapter because I had to do tonnes of research for it and scan a lot of stories. The problem is that you do not get to know whether a story is cliche or not just by looking at the cover, title and descriptions and it is double difficult to write a chapter on cliche plots without reading them first.

So, you see, tonnes of research.

Now to the beginning of this much awaited chapter...

When you type Damon Salvatore in the Wattpad search bar, about 9.6K stories emerge and trust me that's a lot.

Not all of them are cliche and that's why it took me such a long time to find the aspects which are similar in such stories stories to the extent that they could be labelled as cliche.

And here we go. There's not much in this chapter but I hope my hard work pays off and you guys enjoy.

Plot Overview:

1. The OC is either a Gilbert or a Mikaelson. There never seems to be any third option.

2. And if a third option does exist, it is none other than Katherine's somehow miraculously conceived daughter or some long lost sister / another Petrova Doppelganger, the origins to whom are never really explained in the story.

[I really don't understand this concept. Why is it that both the brothers have been in love with almost the same woman with the same appearance but different natures throughout the centuries? Or are they naturally programmed to feel affection just for someone who looks like Katherine / Elena?]

3. If it is a crossover... Presenting you the ever stunning and ethereally gorgeous Bella Swan!

4. Damon is portrayed as a reckless, crazy bad boy at the beginning of the story. He drinks, kills, uses compulsion to his advantage way too much, sometimes even responsible for huge massacres, has a tonne girlfriends (I dunno why I'm using the word tonne so much) and is all in all evident bad news.

5. Stefan is there for just cleaning up all the mess Damon makes, nothing more nothing less.

6. If it is in the Elena Gilbert time period, then the story plot is basically just a redo of the original plot with the OC stealing all of the good scenes.

7. If it is set in 1864 (which honestly doesn't happen often) then the plot seems like a badly done rewrite of the 1864 scenes with Katherine and OC as her twin sister or best friend whatever.

8. If it is a Mikaelson sister story, OC replaces Rebekah for the entire book and there isn't even an inkling that Rebekah too existed.

9. Damon and OC meet at the Grill or at Elena's house, depending on the author.

10. For the Mikaelson story, they meet in New Orleans or Chicago.

11. As the story unfolds, OC almost immediately falls for the Salvatore. She becomes attracted to his godly looks and mysterious charm and oh so dashing personality.

12. Damon, on the other hand, meets the OC and is fascinated by her sweet and innocent personality and no doubt falls head over heels for this interesting person.

13. Somehow, every male person in the book finds said OC attractive and is jealous of Damon so you can expect a lot of drama wrapped up in there. OC and Damon out to the Grill for a date, and Klaus or Jeremy or sometimes even Stefan (depending on who the OC is related to) turns up to ruin the date and drive Damon crazy.

"Sorry, love, but you ought to have better standards that... I was your boyfriend once, remember? And I had sworn you would find no one even half as great as me. And that could definitely never be him."

14. A lot of events take place. All the vampires show up for a massive destruction plan and every single tortuous thing happens to OC but in the end all is well and Damon gets the love of his life and the story gets a happily ever after.

15. And usually Damon's feelings or relationship with both Elena and Katherine is typically ignored as if nothing of that sort ever happened.

16. By the end of the book, the Damon you meet is all lovey dovey with chocolate boxes and stuff so that you would fail to even recognize him as the hot headed reckless Salvatore as portrayed earlier in the story.

To be honest, I haven't read much Damon Salvatore stories, I don't know why but they just don't interest me anymore so I don't think I know about any Exceptional book for this category.

However if you search thoroughly you would get some here on Wattpad.
