Considering the recent activity that has been going on in this book, I'm really nervous about writing this chapter. But here it goes.

Dramione stories are piling to roughly about 11.2 K (which is honestly much less than I expected) but still the relationship of the Know It All and the Slytherin Prince has taken a lot of popularity and acceptance among Potterheads over the years.

There are numerous similarities in these fanfictions which we will be discussing in this chapter. And as there aren't any OCs for this one, I will be starting straight off from the Plot Facts.

Plot Facts:

1. The story can begin in three of the following ways:

a) Ron and Hermione are happy together as a couple until a flobberworm eats Ron's brain and he cheats on Hermione with Lavender, Padma or some other chick.

b) Ron and Hermione are about to get married and Hermione is very enthralled wearing her wedding dress waiting for Ron at the altar. But Ron gets an anxiety/panic attack and doesn't show up at the wedding.

c) After the Wizarding War, the magical race has been effected a lot and the population is dwindling out. The Ministry enforces a law according to which purebloods have to marry Muggleborns to save their wizarding race.

2. In cases a and b Hermione is completely devastated and heartbroken. She stops speaking to her friends and isolates herself and is shown as a typical soap character crying for losing the love of her life. All the Weasleys take her side and Ron is treated like a piece of shit for what he did to Hermione.

[Firstly, Ron could never do that. Secondly, Ron could still not do that. And thirdly, Hermione is not a weak little girl who cries over her loved one like this and then decides to jump off a cliff. Ron left Harry and Hermione in the Deathly Hallows for a while, did you see Hermione wailing like a lost puppy there? No. Because Hermione is a fighter who can get through her problems herself and not make a big deal about it].

3. In case c, the Ministry after passing the law, appoints the couples itself on the basis of mental compatibility and blah blah. And Draco and Hermione get paired to marry. While in some stories I have read, the Sorting Hat performs the ritual of declaring who should be married to whom.

[I mean it is Godric Gryffindor's hat not the hat of some Lady Matchmaker. And honestly what is Hogwarts turning into now, an Emergency Marriage Bureau?]

4. If Hermione is betrayed by Ron, it hurts her self esteem badly and she vows to make Ron pay for it. She intends to seek a whole new makeover so that she can show Ron what he is missing on in life. And for this makeover, she goes to Draco Malfoy.

[That is the most unbelievable thing I could ever have read in fanfictions. Why would Hermione go to Draco Malfoy of all people to help her sort her issues? I'm pretty sure Ginny Weasley has a greater sense of style than him. Oh, Bloody Hell, they have a part Veela in the family too. Why go to Draco when you can have the assistance of Fleur Delacour?]

5. While in marriage law stories, Draco and Hermione are declared to marry and their relationship starts off in complete turmoil because Hermione hates him and such but then Draco does a complete 180 degree twirl and becomes the best man alive on earth. He tells her he is guilty of all his actions, about three chapters go on in these emotional confessions and finally Hermione accepts him.

[Also what I can't understand is that even if some sort of marriage law was passed, Hermione would still be marrying a pureblood, as in Ron. Yes fellows, people forget that Ron is a pureblood too. So the marriage law could not have affected them in the first place. Until or unless the Ministry or the Sorting Hat ships Dramione as well].

6. In makeover stories, Hermione seeks Draco out or Draco feels pity for his former school mate and he puts forward a proposal. The proposal is that Draco would help Hermione in whatever she needs if she would fake date him. Fake date because either he doesn't want to marry and just wants to convince his mother that he's in love with Hermione so she would let him be. Or he wants to make Pansy/Astoria jealous because she cheated on him with Blaise Zabini. And since it would serve the purpose of making Ron jealous too, the proposal is much like killing two birds with one stone.

7. For marriage law fanfictions, the relationship which started in utter hate turns into a replay of Fifty Shades Of Grey just after a few chapters have lapsed into the story.

8. And this is the point where both the stories combine and have the same outcomes. Draco and Hermione start liking each other and Ron or Pansy/Astoria start burning in jealousy. So they decide to make amends as soon as possible. 

9. Ron turns up to Hermione's apartment with a bouquet of roses claiming that he's sorry but Hermione kicks him out even though this was what she wanted initially.

10. Pansy/Astoria do the same and the same results follow only a bit harsher as compared to Hermione.

11. Failing, Ron and whoever Draco's ex is plan to ruin everything for Draco and Hermione. And in case of Draco's ex Narcissa springs onto the action as well because she never really liked that Mudblood girl.

12. There is a lot of drama, a cart full of emotional scenes, a whole sack of dumbly executed attempts at separating Draco and Hermione but in the end all is sunshine and gold as Draco and Hermione's true love wins and they get a happily ever after.

Effects On Other Characters:

1. As you must have already guessed, the most bashed character is Ronald Weasley. Poor Ron is constantly portrayed as a douchebag who is unbelievably selfish and fails to understand other's emotions.

[The injustice done to Ron in these type of stories is outrageous. His whole character is twisted and turned painfully and so much harm is done to poor Ronald as a person. It's unbelievable how someone who has ever read the Harry Potter books cold dare do that to any character ever created by J.K Rowling].

2. Another character who is done injustice to is Hermione Granger. Hermione is portrayed as a girl who can not live without a man and who is desperate and clingy af. The Hermione we see in these novels is a complete opposite of how she was portrayed in the books and it hurts to see this Anastasia Steele version of her.

3. Harry either does not exist in these fanfictions or is just there to provide moral support to Hermione and also to be stuck in between both Ron and Hermione as a reluctant owl or peacemaker.

4. And can I even begin on how differently Draco is written in these fanfictions? He is portrayed as this sweet innocent boy who wouldn't hurt a fly. He is guilty for all he did in the past, is very sensitive and the example of a perfect person every girl falls for and every man is jealous of.

[I have a request, authors. Please, please for the sake of writing do not twist characters. Draco Malfoy is great they way he is. You should show what made him change, why he is guilty and develop his character towards the positive side step by step. Don't do it drastically. Trust me, it is harmful for your own fanfiction].

5. Narcissa may be a pureblood supremacist but after all she has been through due to the war and due to following Voldemort, she won't immediately set off on a killing spree with Pansy or Astoria just because she hates that Mudblood girl.

6. Nearly all the Weasleys except Ron are neglected.Sometimes Ginny turns up to offer Hermione support and sometimes Molly comes up to apologize on behalf of her son but other than that you don't see any of them at all.

I'm not a big fan of Draco and Hermione as a couple and will not read any Dramione fanfic until or unless it is written by kmbell92 or viiv-xvii

But there was one Dramione fanfic that I read a long time ago and am including below but of course, I'm not giving any guarantee of it not being cliche. You may decide for yourself.
