Elena followed behind John B, he was quicker, cautious, and less scared than the rest of the group, John B found an entrance behind the house, lowering their heads the group got inside the home or at least got under it. The brunette coughed a few times as dust got into her system, she was shushed almost immediately by Pope and JJ, the place was dark even though light kept on shining outside, flashlights were pulled out and shined around them, making it easier for them to find their way and not crash with stuff around. Finally, they were all standing upward, no lower heads, their eyes finally adapted to the change of lightning around them.

"See any water?" Kie asked, her flashlight trying its best to light around. Her hand swapped a mosquito, but there were too many around them. "Another dead end."

"Okay, there's no water, can we go now? There's a lot of things here that can get us sick." Elena shivered at the thought of that.

"Scared princess?" JJ asked, he walked past her, his eyes looking around as well.

"Look who's talking about being scared." Elena answered back, a grin on her lips.

"There's not even water on the pipes." JJ touched the metal that rested below the ceiling. Elena wanted to tell him not to touch anything but it was late, for everyone else, they had touched everything.

The three of the pogues started bickering about the water and how this happened because of bad karma, things that were getting a bit annoying for John B. Elena, well, she just wanted to go back to the hospital and stay with her mother, but she also knew that John B needed them, but not in this attitude.

"Maybe the water dried up, but that doesn't mean it's all gone? Right John B?" Elena looked over at her friend, he shrugged but smiled at her.

"This is exactly why I didn't want to tell you about Sarah." John B looked at Kiara, he was annoyed by her sudden change of acting, and Elena was a bit annoyed too, there was so much negativity coming out of her. The two of them kept on fighting but this time was about Sarah Cameron, another endless story.

"Is it because I kissed you? Is that the problem?" The question and the slap were a surprise to the rest of the pogues. They all gasped in unison.

"Stop treating me like I'm some girl that's obsessed with you. Instead of your best friend who's actually trying to look out for you." Kie answered back at John B, and when he asked if he had hit him "Skeeter." she raised her palm at him.

"Skeeter? Huh." John B took a second and slapped Kiara's cheek, gasps were heard again.

"Can you not?" Elena sighed and tried to step in but the two of them started punching and hitting each other. "Wait, when did you two kiss?"

"Oh please like you and JJ haven't kissed." John B said as he walked towards Kie and kept on playing.

"You told John B?" Elena turned and looked at the blonde, the flash blinding his eyes.

"I didn't say a word." JJ responded and looked away, blinking a few times.

"Wait you two actually have kissed?" Kiara was now the one to ask.

"No, we didn't kiss, I mean, in the cheek." Elena cleared her throat and took steps back, she knew she messed up and that John B would interrogate her later. Elena kept looking around, her body dodging everything around her, she had to be careful, who knew what had the objects or even the metal around her, and all of those things seemed too old.

"Hey, guys," Pope called the group, all of them turned to look at him, curious and confused at the sudden movements Pope was doing to throw pieces of wood away. "Help me move this" Pope looked at JJ with widened eyes.

Both JJ and Pope stood on the other side of the wooden board, Kie, John B, and Elena joined afterward, each of them took out a piece of board setting it aside. They had to be quiet, if someone was here, they would probably hear them. Each piece they took off, a well was making its appearance to them, deep and dark, the pogues lifted their flashlights and they lit up, their eyes could see the sparkling water at the end of the well.

"Well, well, well." Pope said, a chuckle was heard from Elena as he joked about it and John B agreed as he called it a dad joke and leaned down to take a better look at it.

"They built this part of the house right over it." Kie said, looking down and flashing around the well.

"This is where she hid the bodies." JJ continued to scare everyone or at least try to.

"Can you like shut up about that, there are no bodies down there." Elena looked over at JJ, she was going to get annoyed very quickly about that if he kept ongoing. Kiara was getting annoyed as well, but there were also scared tones coming off her voice.

"She probably doesn't even know it's here." Kiara pointed out, it could be a theory.

"We're gonna need a really big rope."'John B never took his eyes off the well, he was shocked and Elena was pretty sure he was very excited, speechless even, they had found it. Probably. They now just needed to get down there.

"So? What now?" Elena stood up, looking at everyone else. She wanted to leave this place, she felt queasy, unsafe, she just wanted to leave.

"Well, I guess we would have to come back later tonight, but for now," John B turned to look at Elena "We all go back home."

"Oh yeah, you're going back to your new home with the Kooks, and everyone thought I was gonna be the first to turn." Elena jokingly said, John B sighed and rolled his eyes at her. The pogues had agreed to meet over at JJ's place and talk about the plan, what they would do, and how they would do it. But John B needed to do something first.

Two hours later, the pogues were already hanging out at JJ's place, the only one missing was John B, Kie and Pope hung out on the porch while Elena stayed inside, she had grabbed a glass of apple juice she had found in the fridge. She didn't know what was the plan or even if she was going to stay until it happened. She hadn't had family time in a few days, maybe bringing her sister in this would be fun, but it could also be dangerous.

"Is everything okay?" JJ's voice distracted her from her deep thoughts, the touch of his hand on her lower back send shivers down her spine, Elena just nodded her head in response to him. "I wanted to apologize about earlier," Now Elena was looking at him, curious "pulling you away from your time with your mother, you told me you two had plans and I just came to ruin it, and also, it kinda was for nothing."

"Nothing? We found the place and a well, if there's gold there, for real, I can help my mom JJ, it wouldn't be for nothing." Elena gave him a reassuring smile. JJ smiled back at her, if it wasn't for the door opening, both of them would be staring at their eyes for a while longer.

"Where's everyone?" John B's voice was heard, for JJ and Elena's not a complete surprise, Sarah Cameron stood behind him. The blonde girl waved Elena, her eyes then lost in the porch, she was nervous and Elena was sure that it had to do with Kiara.

JJ and Elena were the first to walk out to the porch, Pope and Kiara looked at them, a smile on the brunette disappeared the moment Sarah Cameron appeared. She had sat down on a couch where John B sat as well. Pope and JJ on another couch, while Elena found a space leaning in a corner, while Kiara, well, she had become an angry mess.

"No effing way." Kiara exclaimed out, the words poured deep from her heart "You brought her here? So what? She's in on this now?" Kiara looked over at John B, but his eyes looked over at the rest, begging for backup, help, anything that could help him.

"Look, all I care about is her cut comes out of your share." JJ pointed at John B, the boy didn't even have the opportunity to answer since Kiara spoke again, angry. Pope said he was starting to feel uncomfortable, and Elena agreed with him. She could just walk away, her house was just a few steps away, literally.

The arguing then started between Kiara and Sarah Cameron, Elena ignored their voices completely, her mind wandered off to the gold, the well, and her mother. If they find the gold, what was going to happen next? Was there any place in Outer Banks that would receive such thing? And how much could they change if they find too much? Questions wandered through her head that Elena hadn't noticed there was a moment that everyone was silent, the brunette turned to look around, there was tension still in the air that made Elena feel the shiver down her spine.

"Kie, you are my best friend, right?" John B asked the other girl in front of home she didn't answer but she moved her head in agreement. "And Sarah, you're," John B turned to look at her, John B didn't know if he could say it but Sarah Cameron told him it was okay to do so "You're my girlfriend."

Kie then argued again when John B stated out saying girlfriend, it seemed that it boiled her blood. And to make things worse the brunette let out the many times John B had said he was using her for information, and saying that, changed the air again.

"You said you were using me?" Sarah Cameron asked, Elena picked up the hurt in her voice and when John B said no.

"Yeah you did." Pope and JJ said in unison, Elena slapped Pope's arm and shook her head. Elena could see from her side view a small figure, her little sister was standing there.

"I'm going to be back." Elena whispered down at Pope and JJ, they both nodded their heads and watched the brunette leave the porch. Melissa Herrera was pacing side to side, biting her nails of her right hand, muttering words. "Is everything okay Mel?"

"Yeah, I think, I don't know," Melissa kept on pacing side to side, then she stopped, looking up at her "What if Dad's getting better and gets a job, and Mom leaves us, who will be taking care of us?"

"Mel?" Elena felt confused about the sudden worry of her little sister. "You don't have to worry about that okay? If that happens, Dad will be taking care of us and I will be helping too." Elena placed both of her hands on Melissa's shoulders.

"But what if you're already gone off to college, will I be alone?" Elena could see Melissa's eyes tearing up, all Elena could do was hug her sister.

"I won't be leaving your for now Melissa, you are my responsibility, and don't you worry, our problems will be solved sooner than later okay." Elena rested her chin on Melissa's head, her arms wrapped around her neck, she could hear her younger sister sobbing against her chest.

"I'm sorry about this, I don't know what happened but I can't stop thinking about this." Melissa's voice vibrated on Elena's chest, the young Herrera pushed herself out off the hug and sniffled.

"Don't be sorry about that, it's okay to wonder and ask what would happen, look at it as thinking and planning ahead or as in a what if, what can we do just in case of a situation." Elena tried to see the bright side of a difficult situation, she knew it was needed at the moment. Elena Herrera had been like this ever since her father joined the army and she noticed how her mother worried every night and her sister cried. Elena always said it was the best thing her father could do, he was a hero, he was going to protect everyone, be a hero.

"Hey. Melissa." JJ's voice was heard behind Elena. Both girls looked at the blonde making his way to them "The whole show just ended, is everything okay?" The question was toward Melissa, puffy red eyes and red nose gave her away.

"I'm doing good, just some internal crisis that now I have managed to know how to solve." Melissa chuckled and sighed "I'm gonna leave you two alone." Melissa winked at them, Elena could feel her cheeks burn, easily embarrassed now.

"So, how did things go?" Elena asked, her fingers passing through her hair, she had let out her brown hair loose out of her ponytail and she regretted that now, but doing her ponytail again felt like too much work.

"Well apparently Kie's out of the game of Sarah Cameron stays, and if Sarah's out, Kiara will stay," JJ started explaining, Elena nodded her head understanding "But John B wants both of them in the team cause, Sarah Cameron is now, John B'a girlfriend."

"I never thought I would hear John B call someone his girlfriend." JJ agreed with her and smirked "John B has a girlfriend. Wow." Elena never thought she would say that, of course she was happy for him, and for Sarah Cameron too, for her to have a boyfriend who would treat her right, not like Topper had done it before.

"Well, we got not much to do, we would have to wait until John B tells us otherwise, but for now, do you want to do something?" JJ scratched the back of his neck and looked at Elena.

"I guess, we could sit down and relax? I want to relax for just a few hours after all of this." Elena sighed and sat down, she didn't care about the location, she just sat down and took a deep breath. JJ sat down beside her, he closed his eyes and rested his weight on his arms, leaning by his body back.

"JJ, I never apologized to you." Hearing his name, the blonde opened his eyes and looked at her with confusion. "For what happened that night, I didn't mean anything I had said and well I'm pretty sure my actions were wrong."

"What exactly you didn't mean to say?" JJ asked, his head tilted to the side "The part where you said you didn't mean to kiss me back or the one you knew about my feelings for someone?" JJ leaned forward now, resting his elbows on his knees, his eyebrows lined down together.

"Everything, I mean, the kiss, was, unexpected, but us JJ, we're just friends and, you know the rule, no Pogue on Pogue macking and we broke that rule." Elena sighed deeply "I'm sorry, I mean, we are still friends after that night right?" JJ stretched his arms out and grabbed a hold of Elena's hand gripping tightly.

"Of course we are Elena, we are friends." Even with a smile was formed on his lips, his voice wasn't as sure. Elena knew that saying this might change things between them, but she hoped it didn't, as muchas Elena wanted more than a friendship, she knew that it wouldn't happen, she wasn't even sure that JJ liked her that way, and Elena, she didn't want to tell him how she felt, scared that he would laugh at her. But for now, friends.
