"John B? What does the B stand for?" Elena asked him curiously and looked for her shoe on the ground before locating it and grabbing it.

"It stands for Booker, John Booker Routledge, but my friends call me John B." He explained with a smile and crossed arms

"That's interesting, never heard that type of nickname before, I like it." She said smiling back receiving a thank you from his part "Also, you consider me your friend to call you John B?" the question made him chuckle looking down for a brief moment before looking back at her eyes.

"I mean if I get to save your life I am sure I get a friendship pass?" His smile showed some sort of proudness from his comment. "Well I see my friend isn't home right now, so I will be back another time. It was nice meeting you, Elena." John B smiled before walking away from her.

"Hey, John B." Elena shouted and the male turned around stopping his tracks putting all his attention back to her "If they get here, should I tell them you were looking for them? And also what's their name?" with head tilted to her side Elena was intrigued by who was living next door to her.

"Is okay Elena, I'll text him, your neighbor's name is JJ, don't get your hopes up on meeting him today, he might not show up." John B explained as he walked closer to her again.

"What do you mean he might not show up? Doesn't his family wonder about him or something?" Confused, Elena looked at the house, she did wonder why hasn't anyone come out, maybe there was no one right now. She wondered about them, why wouldn't someone care about their child?

"It's just JJ and his father but, you shouldn't bother Luke, that's his dad, he doesn't get along well with others and he's not the closest person to his son so" Both of them looked at the house for a brief moment, the only sound heard was the birds in the sky and the flowing of the tree due to the small wind that was starting.

"Well thank you for the warning John B, I'm sure I will get to know JJ at some point, but it was nice to meet you and sorry about falling on top of you like that." scratching the back of her head Elena walked back to her home as John B walked away waving her goodbye.

"Was that out neighbor?" Melissa questioned looking behind her sunglasses, she was sitting on the bench outside in the front porch of their home, probably long enough to have seen her sister and John B talking.

"Best friend of our neighbor actually." Elena repeated the explanation John B had told her when she asked him that question.

"Oh really?," A cheeky smile appeared on her face and stood up looking out as John B drove away and passed by their home "If he's that good looking, just imagine our neighbor, I hope they have a sibling, brother or sister, don't care." Melissa added to her comment making Elena roll her eyes and enter her home.

The rest of the day Elena spend it inside of her room and only got out to eat or to shower, but she continued on her bed which she moved towards the window with the help of her sister. Elena kept looking out and could see the backyard of her neighbors, she noticed how tools and work stuff were scattered around, she could see a small portion of their house. But no people.

The next morning the sound of roosters woke Elena up and noticed she had slept with the window open, miraculously no one barged into her room and stole something or even tried to kidnap her. Maybe having the bed next to the window was a bad idea, but she wasn't going to change the position of it today.

Still sitting on her bed and her hair going to different directions Elena tried to figure out what was happening, the crow of the rooster was heard again, Elena woke up mentally and groaned as she laid back on her bed.

"Someone shut that rooster already!" Melissa's door was heard with an impact, the door of her room swung open and the little sibling entered the room of the other, the frown on her face had shown she was really pissed. "How can you have that window open," Melissa walked over to her sister and laid next to her on the open spot on the bed "I am gonna kill that rooster tomorrow and have it for breakfast or something." Elena chuckled at the comment of her younger sibling, the rooster kept on doing his morning work.

"Morning roos." There was the voice of a guy heard from the outside of Elena's window, both siblings sat up from the bed and looked outside the window, there was someone throwing seeds at the morning animal alarm. "Here you go bud, be quiet for a while, you woke the world up already."

"Holy shit, our neighbor is hot." Melissa said as she looked at him, the blonde hair somehow covered his face, he was just on light brown cargo shorts and sneakers, both girls could see how muscular he was. "Oh Elena, if you don't call dibs right now, I will." Elena looked at her sister and she lightly shoved her aside. She wasn't calling dibs but she knew she had to introduce herself.

"Buenos Días niñas," The bedroom was filled by the sound of their father's voice and both girls turned around and tried their best to cover the window "What are you two doing? Something interesting happening outside?" Ernesto started walking towards them, curious about the outside but was brutally interrupted by his daughters shouting him no.

"Nothing is happening outside dad, just the rooster doing his things." Elena assured and stood up from her bed and walked towards her father, pushing him gently towards the outside of her room "Also, what, what are you doing awake at this time?" She questioned and scratched the back of her head. Melissa trying her best to cover the window in the back made her father curious about what was going on, what had made their daughters so nervous.

"I got a therapy session today, your mother and I are going to see the doctor in an hour and I just came here to tell you that you are in charge," His attention was set on his oldest daughter and pointed at her as the words charge left his mouth "so, no trouble while we are out and you two be careful okay?"

"Totally dad, do not worry." Melissa gave him thumbs up and forced a smile, Ernesto shrugged and walked away, yelling to both daughters to get ready and come for breakfast. The door of the bedroom was shut rapidly by Elena, leaning against the door she finally breathed out. "That was so close." Melissa exclaimed and she turned back to the window trying to look for the guy again.

"That I suppose was JJ, that's his name." Elena whispered and walked over to her bed again and closing her window shut, she peered out the window one last time to realize that he was gone, maybe he heard them and took off. Maybe he got scared at the sudden screams that came from them a while ago. Or maybe he just left.

"Okay then, let's meet this JJ then, dibs!" Melissa screamed as she left her sisters' room towards hers.

"Who still calls dibs these days?" Elena asked and shut down her bedroom door, making her back to the window to close the curtains and change out of her pajamas to summer wear, jean shorts, and a band t-shirt, her hair up in a ponytail and sneakers, this time tightly tied so they wouldn't become an issue at some point.

She joined her parents in the living room for breakfast, the scrambled eggs and toast were set on the table, the only thing missing was the drinks. Elena was confused about how the food got here, she was sure their family didn't go to pick groceries yesterday, but now they had food on the table.

"Where did you all get the eggs? Or the bread?" The question made her mother smile and looked at her daughter.

"I opened the front porch this morning and found a small basket with eggs inside and this little note." Veronica grabbed the piece of paper that was set on the counter and handed it to her daughter.

"Wow, yep, I am marrying JJ." Melissa said as she read the note behind her older sister and grabbed a piece of toast.

"Who is JJ?" Ernesto Herrera asked and looked at all the females in the household, hoping to get a response. "And no marrying until I say so little princesa." He pointed out to her youngest daughter who just rolled her eyes at him.

"Is our neighbor, probably John B told him." Elena explained before being questioned again but this time Who's John B? "I met him, yesterday dad, he's friends of our neighbor, he came to look for him. Don't worry about it."

"Well, you girls have your breakfast, I am taking your father to his therapies, you behave and thank the neighbor for the eggs, I promise I will bring groceries later today." Veronica said happily and grabbed her bag, leaving their house with her husband beside her. Driving away towards the city, the girls followed them outside and waved them goodbye, watching the car leave.

"Hey, neighbors!" JJ's voice was heard beside them, both turning to look at the blonde walking towards them. "Didn't believe John B when he told me I had adorable neighbors. I thought old people lived there."

Melissa grinned happily as she walked first standing in front of Elena and waved at him.

"You just be JJ, my name's Melissa, this is my sister Elena and yeah, we are your adorable neighbors." Stretching her hand out, Melissa was proud of being the first to talk to him.

Elena, on the other hand, was silent, she just looked at JJ from head to toe and vice versa, she could finally see his face, his eyes were bright and glowing, baby blue eyes, sweet. The smile that was formed in his face was welcoming and sweet too. Elena should've called dibs before her sister.

"You must be Elena then," JJ said looking behind Melissa after he shook the little siblings' hand. "John B told me you had fallen for him." a cheeky smile was formed on the corners of his lips taking steps towards. "Didn't know he had that on him."

"You fell for John B?" Melissa seemed like she just had a megaphone on her, the words caught both teens by surprise and turned to look at her, her sister with widened eyes and clenched jaw, clearly embarrassed by her little sisters' comment.

"No, shut up, Melissa." Elena shook her head and looked back at JJ who stood tall in front of her, feeling a bit intimidated by his eyes set on her, just like John B, JJ was taller than her, Elena was just reaching under his shoulder, so for her trying to look intimidating wasn't going to work out.

"I fell from the tree and well John B sort of caught me, but yeah, if that is what he meant to say." crossing her arms Elena tried to stand tall, head up, and did her best to not smile or grin at him.

"Yeah that is exactly what he said, but really, I am not surprised if you ended up falling for him." JJ mischievous grin changed on his face and with a wink, he just walked away and turned around briefly as he kept on walking "Nice meeting you girls" in the background John B's car appeared and honked, waving from the inside both girls waved back.

Melissa walked closer to her older sister and smiled "Yep, calling dibs on JJ."

am i ending my chapters with my characters talking? probably... not gonna happen all the time but just sometimes, whoopsies sorry about that
