Chapter 26: Never Be Able To Hurt Anyone
Look out for the <>
As soon as I got up to Molly's lab Sherlock pushed me back out of the room. He said that we needed to get back to Moriarty's building as fast as we could. He had a plan or something but he was a little too busy to tell me it. His mind was clearly somewhere else and as much as I tried to ask about it on our way out of the hospital, he seemed non responsive. With a frown I quickly let it go, figuring that if he had a plan then I should trust him, just like he does with me.
I watched as he hailed a cab and quickly we got in. I looked at the window of the cab. The people outside looked like they were too busy, too caught up in their little life to notice anything else. They didn't know what was happening outside of their life. They didn't care. If it didn't apply to them, it wasn't important. I smirked. If only they knew what happened outside their life. I was in the shadows, out of the eyes of everyone but I was important in their lives. I stopped the bad from happening. Sherlock and I worked to bring peace to London and they didn't even know who we were.
We were the peace keepers although we didn't stand by the peace ourselves. We didn't care about the peace in our messy lives. We were damaged and hurt, but we did what we could for the best of all people. That was why I couldn't leave. If I was gone who would stop the bad from happening? Sherlock needed help, he couldn't do this on his own. Together, we needed to be the protectors of this city.
I let out a sigh and looked over at Sherlock. He had his hand on a brown bag the whole ride, like it was something extremely important. I noticed that he had this bag close to his body since the hospital. He kept looking back at the bag and then out the window as if waiting for something to happen. "What is in that bag?"
He looked at me and opened his mouth to speak but suddenly, I felt the car come to a hard impacted stop. I rammed my head against the side of the car and it immediately started to have a head ache. The sound of crunching glass and metal filled my ears and I knew that was from the car we were in.
We just got hit by something, but I didn't have enough energy to open my eyes and look around. The smell of burnt rubber filled my nose. I had to get out, however, right now I just wanted to sleep, feeling suddenly tired. "Rori, come, we need to go." Sherlock shook me hard enough to cause my body to ache.
I opened my eyes to see Sherlock who was outside of the car already. Little cuts lined his face and his outfit was tattered, however his eyes looked wild, excited, rushed. This was what he really lived for, he became alive in moments like this. "What?" I mumbled as I tried to unbuckle my seat belt. My fingers keep slipping as I tried messing with the buckle. He unbuckled it for me and I fell to the ground. I didn't realize I was upside down.
"We need to go," he said to me as I crawled out of the car. I pushed myself up from the ground then looked at the car we were riding in to see that another car hit it from the side I was sitting at, causing to get knocked to the side. I stumbled across the pavement as I followed Sherlock. He looked like he was on a mission of some importance but I didn't know what that was. I wanted to know though, I wanted to help but I kept falling behind as he started to run onward. I was loosing him as I struggled to run in a straight line.
I tried to keep up with him but my body wasn't working properly. I ran down the road but I kept tripping on little bits of rock. I turned down the road to where the building was but something stopped me. Moriarty came out of the shadows about 20 yards away from me. He smiled at me as he brushed his hair out of his face.
I stopped in mid run and looked at him. He was right in front of me. He was probably the one that staged the car wreck. I wiped my eyes so I could see him properly with no luck. What was his plan now?

"You think you are so cleaver. You think you save people. You think you do good." He paused and laughed like it was a joke. "You don't save anyone. You cause trouble everywhere you go. Even for John, Sherlock, Molly, and Miss Hudson. And what did Kale do to deserve what he got? Hu? You are a walking time bomb, something toxic that kills everything in its path. You always have been that way haven't you? Tell me Rori, where is your mum and grandmother now?"
His words ripped through me like a knife. It was painful because as much as I hated to admit, it was all true. I was toxic, everything around me did die. "SHUT UP!" I shouted at him. "Shut it! I'm saving people. I'm going to stop you and no one will have to die. No one will get hurt from your hand anymore." I said as tears came to my eyes as I thought about all I had to deal with because of him. This was ending today, it was ending now.
He smiled at me, clearly enjoying this. "What you don't know is that you already activated the bomb in the building. That little game that we played was just that, a game to distract you. There was no real way to stop the explosion from happening, there never was." He looked behind himself to see the building that he was so proud of building.
I shook my head at him. He was distracting me for a reason. There had to be a way that I could stop this building from blowing up. There was always a loop hole. I just needed to get past him. He needed to be stopped. I needed to stop him. I reached into my pocket. My hand wrapped around the knife that Sherlock gave me and I pulled it out. "No, I'm going to stop it. Just you watch."
He turned to face me again and cocked his head to the side as he looked at the knife in my hand. He laughed lightly, like a father would to a child. "And how are you going to do that?"
I flipped the knife open in my hand and threw it at him as hard as I could. It landed straight into his chest. His smile slowly faded into a frown as blood started to soak into his 'I <3 Kiev' T shirt. He collapsed to the ground. "One trick I learned in Russia." I slowly walked up to him and stood over his crippled body, feeling powerful. For the first time since Russia I felt like nothing could stop me. For the first time in a long time I felt unstoppable. He grimaced at me as I gave him a smile. I bent down and turned the knife in his chest to cause more pain and damage.
He cried out in pain but it only gave me motive to continue. I wanted to see him suffer like he had made me suffer. I wanted him to beg for his life just before I ended it.
I felt a rumble beneath my feet and frowned. I knew I had to go onward. I took the knife out of him and put it back into my pocket. As I bent down to look into his eyes one last time I said, "you will never be able to hurt anyone ever again." And with that I started to run to the building.
"You won't be able to stop it! it's too late!" He yelled out to me as a feeble attempt to stop me.
I got into the huge construction sight and looked around. I had no idea where Sherlock was and I had no plan on what to do next. I took a deep breath and let it go. I just needed to clear my mind. Just then the building started to shake. I took a few steps back, not knowing what it was doing. Within another minute there was a loud bang and flash causing me to fall to the ground. I felt my head hit the pavement and I was out.
