47 Change of Heart

I stood there on the patio, nervously waiting. I couldn't believe she was back in my life again; I had just started to forget about Lisa. What was she here for?

I bit down on my bottom lip anxiously as I heard a car drive up to the house and then the engine shut off. It was a black Mercedes with tinted windows, for a moment nothing happened. I looked at the car, trying to get myself together and be strong. After all, this was the woman who had used Michael for her own satisfaction. She had mistreated and hurt the love of my life.

Then the door of the car opened and Lisa got out, brushing her long, thick hair over one shoulder. She looked around and then spotted me. She was wearing sunglasses, so I couldn't read her expression as she walked over to me in her high heels.

"What are you doing here?" Was the first thing I said; I wanted to make sure she knew she was going to have to upper hand in this discussions. "My security is watching everything, so don't do anything stupid."

"Hello Susan, first of all" Lisa said calmly and took off her sunglasses. To my surprise, she didn't have that cocky, stern look that I remembered on her face.

"Hello Lisa" I said back dryly, crossing my arms in front of my chest.

"I'm here because I want to talk. I know Michael isn't here, but that's ok for now. Will you please listen for a couple of minutes?" She said while putting her keys and sunglasses in her black purse.

I sighed. I had no idea what she wanted. I pulled out a chair next to a little table and sat down. "Sure. I'm listening."

"Can I sit?" She asked and motioned towards the other chair that was opposite to me.

I simply nodded. I tried to appear unimpressed, but my heart was beating so fast.

Lisa sat down and looked at her hands, trying to start talking.

"Alright listen...I just want you to know, that you don't have to be afraid of me and...I am very aware of what I did ok? Me and Alisha...yeah, all that. I'm not here for any of that, believe me." She paused and looked at me, but I didn't react at all.

"Look, It's been two years since me and Michael got the divorce. I've come to realize a lot, I've changed so much! And I just feel so guilty.... You don't know how hard it is to live like this and know you've hurt the love of your life." She stopped and sighed deeply. "You know...me and Michael were really close. We had so much in common, that's why we decided to get married back in 1994. But...I messed it up. I never wanted to make him feel uncomfortable –"

"- hold on a second. You never wanted to make him feel uncomfortable?" I scoffed and leaned closer to her. "Lisa, either you are BLIND or you are lying again. He obviously hated the things you were doing with him."

"Susan, WAS blind. I'm not like that anymore. I...I thought, back then I though he was going to realize that it was only for fun."

"For fun?" I raised my eyebrows and shook my head.

"I know it's hard to understand but-"

"There's nothing to understand. You are not that stupid Lisa and you were not that stupid. You have to admit that you knew what you were doing wasn't right, wasn't in his nature, it wasn't what he ENJOYED. It's as simple as that. You were only out for what YOU wanted, and that is what ruined your relationship."

"I know I just thought he was going to enjoy it too" Lisa sighed. "But that's not the point. I have realized that I was a horrible person, ok? I regret everything that happened, I feel so much...guilt towards Michael, as hard as it is for me to say that with my ego." Lisa rolled her eyes. I smirked, at least she was admitting to that.

"I just wanted too much from him." Lisa said. "He was never into anything that I wanted to do, you know? He wasn't as crazy as me. "She chuckled.

"Yes, he isn't like that" I said. " Michael has a lot of feelings, he does everything with a lot of meaning and love behind it."

Lisa raised her eyebrow." Girl how do you keep up with that?" She shook her head.

"It's not hard for me at all, you know why? Because I am the same way." I smiled. That was something that she wasn't, for sure.

"And now you're pregnant, huh?" Lisa pressed her lips together and leaned back in the chair.

"Wait, how do you know that?" I asked and furrowed my brows.

"It's been in the news the last couple of days. " Lisa simply stated. I sighed. How did this happen? I hadn't even told my mother yet, but apparently the whole world knew by now, and since Michael and I never read or watched the news we hadn't noticed. Why did nobody call us?

"Are you serious?" I asked. For all I knew, Lisa could be lying and have some other connections to get this information.

"Yes I am. Do you realize how shut off you live here with him? I know how that was. It turns you nuts"

"No, no stop right there. It's fine. But you need to leave now, I don't want Michael to come home and have to deal with you."

"No, please let me at least apologize to him" She said and got a little worried now. "Please" She added.

I put my head in my hands. "Lisa, I want Michael to come home and be at peace ok? He's been out working all day."

"Please just give me this one chance. I only want to tell him how sorry I am I...I don't want him to hate me" She sighed. I thought for a while and then grabbed a phone that was mounted to a wall in the patio, dialing Michael's number.

"I'm going to see how he's doing first." I said shortly before Michael picked up.

"Hello? Susan?"

"Yes it's me. Uhm...I was just wondering how you're doing" I said, trying to not let him hear how agitated I was.

"Exhausted" Michael chuckled. "I'm coming home soon, are you taking good care of our little baby?" He said and I heard by the tone of his voice that he was smiling.

"Yes I am" I said and giggled. "Alright, I'll see you soon. Love you Michael.

"I love you more" He said and hung up.

"So?" Lisa asked.

"No. He's exhausted. So I want you to leave now." I said firmly and didn't sit back down again, I wanted her to leave the place.

"Alright fine" Lisa sighed and got up from her chair, putting her purse on the table and searching for something in it. "Please take this, it's my number."

"Why would I take your number?" I shook my head and furrowed my brows.

"Please don't be like this" Lisa threw her head back. "Call me when it's a good time for me to come again when he's here. I can't leave him on bad terms, I can't deal with that. He still means a lot to me" She sighed and wanted to give me the card.

"Does he?" I asked questioningly.

"I loved this man" Lisa said and looked at me. I could tell she wasn't lying.

"Look, I only do this because I know how that feels." I said and took her card.

"Thank you" Lisa sighed and was just about to hug me.

"Nu-uh" I said and backed off and before I knew it Wayne, the security guard came running over.

"Is everything alright?" He asked.

"Yes. Lisa will leave now" I said and walked back into the house.

About an hour later Michael came home and I jumped into his arms.

"Hey honey" Michael chuckled and bent down to kiss me. "did you miss me?" He smirked. I run my fingers over his chest, looking up at him. "Of course I did." He said and laid my head on his chest.

"Are you doing ok? You seem a little different?" he asked and looked at me.

"I'm ok" I giggled, trying to act normal. He really did notice everything. "Do you want to sing me a song you recorded?" I said, pulling on his sleeve as we walked over to the living room.

Michael laughed. "You know I'd never do that, it has to be just right before you're gonna hear it" He smirked and slumped down on the couch. "but...I can tell you something. One of the songs is about you." he poked my side and I giggled.

"Oh god, really? Which one?" I smiled, holding his warm hand in mine as I was gently stroking it.

"Well, it's going to be the title song. Blood on the dance floor" He whispered and winked."

"Will people know it's about me?" I asked.

"No, I don't think so. The girl in the song is called Susie and she is...a bad girl" he smirked. "Nothing like you"

"Oh really?" I raised my eyebrow and climbed on top of him, my hand sliding down his side to his legs.

"Hey!" Michael laughed.

"Tell me, what does she do?" I asked as my hand travelled down, in between his legs and I squeezed him once tightly. "I wanna find out what I wanna know" I whispered.

"No way" Michael shook his head, with a big smile on his face. "Wanna go upstairs?" He smiled. I couldn't say no to that.
