Everything has a Start.
-3rd person.-
John had just gotten off of work when he got a text from his husband. Locking the door, John pulled his phone out his back pocket.
Lex <3: Hey baby, can you please get Philip? He has tutoring. Washington just called in a meeting. If it makes things better, I'll grab something to eat on the way home.
John sighed, getting into his car. He loved Philip, he truly did, but Philip didn't reciprocate those feelings. Philip hated John with everything he had.
Johnny -v-: Sure! I can cook tho! It's fine, it won't take long anyway!
Lex <3: Ok. Love you!
-15 minutes later-
After grabbing his wallet and turning off his car, John walked in the front office, showed the office clerk his I.D. "Philip Hamilton to the front office, Philip Hamilton." the office clerk, Mrs. Washington called on the intercom. She turned around to face John, "He'll be here shortly. How are you today?"
John and Mrs. Washington chatted for a few minutes until Philip walked into the office. "Hey, Philip, ready to go?" John asked, signing the sheet that marked that Philip was taken home. All John got from the teen was a grunt, as he walked out the office door. John waved Mrs. Washington goodbye, wished her a good weekend, and jogged after Philip.
-Philip POV- ( *gasp* who's POV?)
I pulled my hood over by black curls, indicating that I didn't want to be talked to. I leaned on John's car door, waiting for his fat ass to hurry up. (That hurt to write. My little sister thinks that I'm crying. Help) I stuffed my hands in my pocket as John walked up to the car, going to grab the car door, but froze.
He stood there, staring at the car door. "John? Earth to John." I say. He didn't answer, still staring at the door. I roll my eyes, ready to go, "Are you stupid or something? Come on. I would like to go home today!" I guess that snapped him out of it because he opened his door and got in. "Took you long enough," I mumble, getting in after him.
It was quiet for a few minutes, until John spoke up, "How's Theo, I heard she broke her arm."
Just then he pulled into the driveway. "That's none of your business. Just shut up and get out." I snapped, getting out of the car. The Siri on John's phone went off, signaling he got a message.
-James' Pov-
Here we go again, Hamilton is rambling about something else."Turn around bend over I'll show you where my shoe fits!"
I see my husband look back at me as he rushes towards Hamilton. I stood up and grabbed his arm, cough, then finally say, "It's not worth it." Even though I didn't want Thomas physically hurting Hamilton, I still wanted to shake him up a bit. Before Hamilton meets up with Washington I drag Thomas towards Hamilton, "You don't have the votes."
"You don't have the votes," Thomas joined, then laughed. "Ah-ha-ha ha."
"You're gonna need congressional approval and you don't have the votes," I said as Hamilton walked off.
"He's such an angry little gremlin," Thomas said as I turned to him. "Thomas you cannot just go and try to fight Hamilton like that, learn to control your temper." I reason carefully. Thomas has slight anger issues, and I didn't want to add wood to the fire.
"Come on, your daughter should be here soon." Thomas snapped. When he would get mad at me, he would bring up the fact that Margret, OUR daughter isn't biologically his. It was his guilt trip, yet, he helped raise her.
I glared at him, letting go of his arm. "Our. Our daughter." I looked at him coldly walking toward the exit. I hated it when he would use that against me. Her mother died in childbirth, leaving me with her. That day, Thomas offered to help me raise Margret. I didn't ask for his help, he offered it.
I walk outside to see Washington and Hamilton talking in the parking lot. Washington turned to me as I approached, "Mr. Madison how's your daughter doing with her politics classes." I felt pride swell in my chest. Margret was an excellent student. She has a 4.2 GPA, straight A's, and skipped one year of schooling.
"Well, she should be here soon so you'll be able to ask her yourself although I do think that Thomas and I are helping her," I state proudly. I hear Hamilton snort. I turn to him, "Is there a problem, Mr. Hamilton?"
"Oh not at all Mr. Madison carry on, please." He looks at me smugly. Oh, how I despise that man.
"Well," Washington says awkwardly, "Speaking of the beauty queen herself." My daughter Margret, more commonly known as Maddie, walks up to us.
" 'Sup gramps!" she on her tiptoes to kiss him on the cheek "Pa." I nodded, giving her a handshake since a lot of physical contacts is overwhelming. "Hello, Mr. Hamilton," she says politely yet you could hear the sarcasm coming from her voice. Just like her father.
"Miss Madison-Jefferson." He addresses her with the same sarcasm. She looks at me and rolls her eyes. We added the Jefferson part after Thomas and I got together. Speaking of the devil in magenta.
"I told you not to talk to Hamilshits sweetheart." I hear my husband yell across the parking lot with a smug look on his face.
"Sorry daddy, but I'm having dinner with Phillip tonight. I will be returning home with him." She looks at Thomas sweetly and goes to hug him. "Give 'em hell for me, will you sweetheart." He murmurs in her ear, yet loud enough for me to hear.
"You know it pops." She winks and Thomas laughs.
"Right, are you ready to leave yet Miss. Margret?" I watch as her playful expression turns cold at the sound of her first name. She hated it so much, she got everyone to call her Maddie. Thomas and I never understood that. We thought it was a lovely name.
" I am ready to leave Alexander, let me just tell my dads' bye." Bitterness laced her voice, she smiled at him and turned to me and sneezed. She gave Thomas and me a kiss on the cheek told the president bye and left with Hamilton.
I look up to Thomas as he wore a smirk on his face. "What?" he questioned, forging innocence. "It's time for us to head home. Goodnight, Mr. President."
"Goodnight!" we waved as we started the walk home. We have a lot to discuss when we get back home.
-Philip's Pov-
"Can you please set the table, Philip, Maddie is coming for dinner today and I want to be presentable," John asked me, checking the pots.
"I'm doing it because I can, not because you asked me to." I went and got the forks and plates and set them on the table. After all, Maddie was coming with Pa and I wanted to impress her.
"I'm just saying you Hamilshits are the plague upon the world and you need to be stopped." I heard as the door opened, exposing Maddie and my dad. I smiled knowing that she would be staying for a while.
"Yeah, whatever Jefferhoe" I never understood why they bickered so much they were similar and liked each other more than they would like to admit.
"Maddie!" I hear as I see John walk towards her, almost tripping in the process. That absolute dumbass.
"Hey, Johnny!" She said as she hugged him. John ruffled her hair. I don't see how anyone could like him. Especially my father, but as long as he's happy, I guess. My thoughts were interrupted by a short brunette waving in my face "Hello, earth to Pip."
"Well hello to you too, Sneezy." I greet her, squeezing her in a tight hug. She laughed and rolled her eyes as I was referring to her bad allergies. I look towards my father and he winks at me knowing about my crush on her. I blush and roll my eyes and walk towards her not wanting to be in the room when John welcomes him home.
"So what's for dinner mini Hamilshit." I rolled my eyes and walked towards her " Not macaroni isn't that what one of the dads makes all the time, my father refers to him as.... oh, Macaroni fucker."
"Oh, I did not know that the F word was in Hamilton's vocabulary, congratulations Slick I'm impressed." She smirked and got closer to my face. I turned deep red, but turned and grunted, going to get cups for the table.
"Kids please sit down and stop with the vulgar language were about to eat." John the Great came ruining another one of our moments. She backed up and respond, " Whatever you say Unc." She gleamed at him and sat down at the dinner table.
"Yeah whatever John." I sat next to her and she shot me a glare as I shrugged my shoulders. All of my friends adored John. John was Maddie's godfather, she's been knowing him since she was born, Theodosia and Theodore (Theo's twin brother) love John too. When their dog died, John took us all to the movies, and to get pizza and ice cream. I don't understand though, just because that screw up does one nice thing doesn't make him almighty.
"What's on the menu today John?" my dad asked, interrupted my thoughts.
"Well, Lex I think you'll like this one, we have macaroni as a side dish." I watched my dad sigh as he slumped in his chair and said "Dear god. I can never escape that macaroni fucker, can I?" It was a joke since that's Mr. Jefferson's favorite food. I know its french fries, so don't be that one h o e that comments "actually his favorite food is french fries." I know.
I looked at Maddie as she smirked at me and she jumped up to ask John if he wanted help which he gladly accepted and lead her to the kitchen. I rolled my eyes he always taking time away from one thing that was going well in my life. They soon came back with macaroni, chicken, beans, and Hawaiian rolls.
Maddie winked at me as she set my plate down on the table I quickly grabbed my water to stop myself from blushing. I looked down at the food John made. As much as I hated him for ruining my family, they did have one upside. His cooking was better than I would like to admit.
-Time skip brought to you by Philips freckles ;)-
"Thank you for inviting me to dinner Hamiltons." I heard Maddie saying sarcastically. Pa grimaced and said, "Yes, it was my pleasure Jeffershi-" John butts in and says, "Yes, It was our pleasure Maddie do you want me to walk you next door."
"NO!" I jumped up. "I'll walk her home." She shoots me a glare.
"Goodbye John, Mr. Hamilton. Dinner was fabulous." She walks to the door. I follow close behind her
"I'm a big girl slick I can walk myself home, thank you."
" No can do pretty lady I wouldn't want anything to happen to you. Plus we wouldn't want your daddys getting worried."
"Wow, chivalry still does exist. Although I think I'm capable of walking next door by myself, Slick" She sighed " I had fun tonight, Pip."
I looked down at her, "I-I had fun too I assume you'll come over for dinner, next week, same day, same time." She sneezed then wrinkled her nose.
"You know it, Hamilton, I'll catch you later." She walks out the door
"You know it," I called out after her. Before I closed the door I saw her giggle.
"Is everything ok in there Philip?" John called as I came into the kitchen. He was doing the dishes. Good, that's a chore I don't have to do. Pa tries to make me do chores, but John does most of the housework.
" Yeah, John everything is fine," I said as I pushed past him to get to my room. Jeez, I'm tired of him asking so many questions he's not even my real dad. I stumbled to my room thinking about Maddie.
