Chapter 14

It was a couple of days before Connor got around to me.  I was just starting to think I was home free on his lecture…I thought…

I managed to find a job at a diner pretty close to the house. Today was my first day on the job. It was probably going to be easier than the werewolf diner I worked in at the city. The only trouble I would have is if I started getting hit on. The building right next to the diner was a bar. I’d expect drunken patrons looking for a nice big burger to soak up their alcohol.

I was getting ready for work when Connor cornered me in my room.

“Is there something you want to tell me?”

It felt like I jumped three feet in the air. “Geez Connor. You shouldn’t sneak up on me!”

He rolled his eyes and sat on my messy bed. I hadn’t had time to clean it yet today.

“You decided to go have a little chat with Monica the morning after she attacks you?” He said in disbelief.

I shrugged, “She was confined. It’s not like I was in any danger.”

“What if she managed to escape? You could have pressed the wrong button.” It was like I was a child again.

“She didn’t escape. I didn’t hit the wrong button.” I threw my hair into a pony tail. “Everything’s okay.”

He crossed his arms over his chest. “Your powers still gone?”

I nodded, “Yep.”

“Nothing’s returned at all?”

I shook my head. “It’s kind of nice getting to be normal for a little while.”

“I’m not going to lecture you about how stupid you were. It’ll go in one ear and out the other.” Thank Goodness! I couldn’t go through another lecture. “I will tell you though, if you do something as stupid as that ever again, the hell that will rain down on you will make you wish I gave you a lecture.” Connor was super serious.

“Fine. Hell will rise if I’m stupid enough to get myself in that situation again. Got it.” I smiled at my brother. I was so glad I wasn’t getting a lecture. “Can I go to work now?”

He nodded and stood. “Mason’s planning on getting people drunk tonight, so be ready for that when you get home.”

I nodded, “Alright. Thanks for the heads up I guess.”

Work wasn’t hard. It just felt like it took forever.

I was glad Connor warned me about the party. It was definitely in full swing when I got there.

I didn’t go into the house through a door. I was a mess, which would have been really embarrassing. So I climbed up the side of the house and climbed onto my balcony. Now I didn’t have Spiderman abilities, but the gate the grape vine Amanda talked the guys into was starting to grow on really helped. They did a great job fastening that gate to the house, so I knew I was safe.

Once in my room I took a quick shower and got ready in record speed.

One of the things the guys knew how to do was throw a party. I’d bet that most of them were werewolves. Probably pack members that I had yet to meet.

I was about to walk into the kitchen for a drink when I heard my name being hollered.

I looked over and met eyes with Mason. He was obviously feeling some of the alcohol he’d been drinking.

“Come play a game with me.” He said with a huge smile. “Please?”

“Well how can I say no when you’ve used your manners?” I teased. Mason hardly ever said please, unless he really wanted something.

“We’re playing quarters.”

‘We’ entailed the 5 girls surrounding him. He was probably planning on banging one or two of them.

“You versus girls? That’s not very fair.” I said as I sat down next to Mason. He’d made room for me. The girl on the other side of him smiled at me, the girl who had to scoot over glared at me. She probably thought I was after Mason.

Right. Like that would ever happen. I don’t think I could ever get that drunk.

“Know how to play?”

I nodded as he handed me the quarter. I bounced it off the table and it clinked as it went into the shot glass in the center of the table.

His eyes narrowed on me. He leaned to my ear, “You better not be cheating.”

“I couldn’t if I wanted to.” I nudged him away from me. “You’re just afraid of losing.”

He rolled his eyes, “You’re so intimidating.”

He took the quarter out of the shot glass. “Let’s let the other girls start first.”

I didn’t leave the seat for a while. The girls really sucked, but when they made it, I usually had to drink it. They wanted me out of the running for Mason’s affections. They wanted me drunk and out of the picture.

Luckily Mason stole a few shots for me. He knew I was starting to get very drunk. Mason was spreading shots around the other girls. He never once made me drink when he got the quarter in the glass. He knew what the other girls were doing.

“I’ll be back…maybe.” I said as I stood up. I staggered a bit. I didn’t expect the dizziness that clobbered me as soon as I stood up.

Mason steadied me by grabbing my elbow, “You okay?”

I nodded, “I just need a second.”

One of the girls snickered. She’d made me drink 3 shots. “What the fuck are you laughing at?”

Mason sighed and stood. “Come on. Let’s go find Amanda.”

Feeling lovey, I wrapped my arms around him, “You’re such a great friend Mason.”

He rolled his eyes and lifted me off my feet. “Come on. I need to get back to those chicks.”

“Which one you after?”

He smirked, “The one that you just yelled at.”

I looked back at the table. She was glaring at me while the other girls conversed. I smirked, then kissed Mason’s neck.

“What are you doing?”

“Sealing the deal for you.” I murmured to his neck.

He smirked then set me down on a bar stool.

“She’s your problem now.” He told Amanda, who just smiled at him.

She pointed at her neck, “You’ve got a little…something.”

It was my lipstick.

He rolled his eyes then left us alone.

Amanda smiled at me, “You okay?”

I nodded uncapping a bottle of water. I definitely needed to start drinking water or else I was going to have a nasty hang over tomorrow morning. “I was playing quarters with Mason.”

She nodded, “Grayson told me.”

I whipped my head towards her. “Grayson told you?”

She nodded, “He keeps checking on you. It’s pretty cute.”

“He’s probably just making sure I’m not flirting with some guy.”

She shrugged, “There’s probably a little bit of that.”

Then my bladder decided to be incredibly full. “I’ve gotta pee.”

She nodded, “Well go. You know where the bathroom is.”

Then I staggered down the hall to the bathroom. There were girls just hanging out in it.

“File out.” I said as I ushered them out. “This isn’t a sitting room.”

“Bitch.” One muttered as she walked past me.

I chuckled and nodded, “The biggest.”

When I got back to Amanda, she wasn’t alone. Her husband was there, giving her the loving eyes. He was probably 5 minutes out from taking her upstairs and having his way with her.

“Hey Casey!” She said relieved. She was the only sober one here. Obviously being pregnant, she couldn’t drink with the rest of us.

“Hi guys!” I said with a smile as I hugged them both.

“Brian lost at poker.” Amanda said with a big smile.

Brian hated losing at poker because he was really good. “I made a bad move. I would’ve won.”

She laughed. “You shouldn’t have called Connor.”

“I thought he was bluffing.” He pouted. Brian looked at me, a smile slowly creeping onto his face. “Let’s drink.”

I met his excited smile with my own, “Let’s do it.”

We didn’t even play a drinking game. Brian would just keep filling our shot glasses with whatever alcohol was closest.

Several shots later Amanda took the bottle away from her husband. “No more.”

He pouted. “Come on. We’re just starting to have fun.”

She shook her head, “You’re going to give Casey alcohol poisoning.”

Brian smiled wickedly at his wife. “Good thing I’m a doctor.”

She rolled her eyes, “No more.” He pouted. “Promise me you won’t make her drink anymore.” He whined. “Do it. Or else you’re not getting any when we go to bed.”

I saw the idea spark in his eyes almost as soon as Amanda had. Brian faked a yawn and picked up his wife. “You look tired. I should take you to bed.”

She rolled her eyes. “Whatever.”

They left, to have their own festivities in their room.

I grabbed a bottle of water, knowing that if I didn’t start drinking water I would be massively hung over tomorrow.

I knew as soon as I started walking around, I’d get dizzy. I’d smack Brian tomorrow for making me drink even more. I thought I was done when Mason dropped me off in the kitchen. Obviously I was wrong.

Then I heard the low booming sound. I don’t know why I hadn’t noticed it before. I followed the booming noise to the garage. It had been transformed into a dancing area and it was definitely crowded.

So I joined the crowd and danced off alcohol.

Somehow throughout my time dancing, I ended up in one of the cages.

Then all my fun came to a screeching halt. Grayson appeared at the cage, glaring at me.

I groaned and got out of the cage. It didn’t stay empty long. Two girls almost knocked me over to get into the cage.

I didn’t even have to worry about falling because Grayson threw me over his shoulder and carried me out of the garage. People made a path for Grayson. They probably saw the anger in his features and decided it was best to not get in his way.

“Put me down now Grayson!” I kicked my legs and hit at his back. It had no effect on him.

“Shut up!” He growled as he carried me upstairs.

“You can’t lock me in my room! I’ll just get out!” I threatened. Being inverted like this was not helping. All the blood was rushing to my head making me feel a little nauseous.

“Oh, don’t worry; I’m not taking you to your room.” He said darkly.

As soon as he turned the corner I knew right where he was taking me, so his room. “Don’t you dare!” I threatened.

He spanked my bottom hard once, leaving a stinging sensation. “Quit yelling.” It stung and I’d hate to admit it to anyone, but I liked it.

“Grayson! Put me down!” I yelled. Then he opened the door to his room. Once I went through that door, I had a pretty good idea what was going to happen. He was going to make me not want to touch another guy again.

Grayson slammed his door then walked me over to his bed. “Now you can yell all you want.” He growled as he started placing heavenly kisses on my neck.

“You’re cheating!” I groaned.

He chuckled, “I know.” His hands pulled my leggings down seductively slow. “You’re not complaining anymore.”

I couldn’t argue with that. “That’s because you’re cheating.” My breathing got quicker and quicker the more he kissed me.

“All you have to do is tell me to stop.” He said against my skin. We both knew I wasn’t going to tell him to stop.
