The Key To His...?
Lol so funny story, I've actually cut bagels like that. But I'm not a doof, so I did not cut my finger off. Also, we gonna follow Virgil this time cause I say so. It'll be a blast, you'll totally love...maybe? Anywho, continue on.
As the last customer cleared out with an apple pie and a dozen sugar cookies, Virgil was already dreaming of the comfy bed waiting for him at home. His feet, that were definitely not used to being used all day, were sore and begging him to sit down. He pushed through, knowing once he sat down he wouldn't get back up. He went through the motions of closing shop; flipping the sign to "Closed", wiping down the tables and counter. Wrapping up whatever was left in the cases that could be put out again and storing it. He put the rest in a couple containers to drop off at the shelter on his way home.
As he locked the back room up he noticed something sitting on one of the chairs. When he picked it up he realized it was a key.
"Shoot, this is probably Logan's. He must've dropped it earlier. Should I return it now? Would that be creepy? But what if he needs it before the morning. I don't even have a clue where he lives. Patton would though, I can ask him. God this is gonna be super creepy, and I'm talking to myself. Geez, I gotta stop doing this."
Finished with his muttering of being crazy and weird, he grabbed the containers and made his way to Patton's car. He triple checked that the doors were locked, cranked up the car, and headed to the shelter. Patton always have them the extra things he could keep after a day. They weren't bad he just had to follow regulations so instead of tossing them he gives the day old goodies, and some bread a few days old, to the shelter. The people there loved Patton, not only because of the food but because he was so good with the shelter residents. Especially the kids and teens. But then again, he's a really big people person. He has a big heart and wants to do as much as he can for the world, even if it's just some cookies and cake and a couple dad jokes.
After dropping off the food, and getting a hug from a tot in pjs, he messaged his brother for Logan's address. Instead of texting back (like a fudging normal person), his phone began to ring with a call from Patton. Rolling his eyes he reluctantly answered the call. Before he could get a word out Patton was already blurting our questions.
"Why do you need his address? Are you gonna go kill him? No wait you don't kill people, do you? Killing people is bad Virgil, don't do it. I don't wanna have to talk to you through glass. That is what happens right? Your visitors can't actually talk to you they have to use like a phone and I won't be able to give you hugs! Nuuuuu, they'll be mean people in there, please don't go to prison!"
"Whoa whoa whoa, breathe Patton. I'm not going to prison. Geez. No, I'm not a killer, yes killing is bad I know that, and no I'm not going to kill him. And I have no clue how prison works. Just calm down Pat. Sheesh."
"Whoo boy, ya had me worried there kiddo. But, wait. If you aren't going to kill him why do you need his address? Are you gonna scare him or something? Cause that's mean too."
"No, I'm not going to scare him. He dropped something earlier when he-" Virgil paused, not sure if Logan would want him to tell Patton. He'd probably get all worked up and worried about him. But he didn't want to lie to Patton, and he already knows Logan has panic attacks so...
"What Virgil? Ya kind of stopped mid sentence there. Is something wrong?"
"No, nothing's wrong. Um, earlier Logan kinda had a panic attack in the bakery. There weren't any customers so I closed the door and took him to the back room to help him calm down. I did that hand thing you do. He had to leave in a hurry kind of and I had to get back to work so I didn't notice it then but I guess he dropped a key. I was gonna swing by and drop it off before I came home. That's totally creepy isn't it? Just showing up?"
"You did the hand thing? You mean the breathing and grounding exercise? Yeah that works great for Logan, I'm glad you helped him. Wonder what triggered him, he told me he didn't have any problem talking to you. Well, I'll text you his address. Depending on the key he might need it tonight. And it's not creepy since you have something to return. If you just showed up for no reason, then it'd be creepy. I'm sure he won't mind, he should be done with work about now anyways. Let me know when you're on your way home and I'll finish up dinner."
"Ok Patton, see you soon. Bye"
"Bye!"
Turning back on the car, he put the address in his GPS just incase and pulled into the street.
Tada! It's another chapter! It's a bit dialogue heavy towards end, but it was a phone call. There had to be a good bit of dialogue. And I stopped it here cause it would be too long if I included him going to Logan's house. That'll have to wait, hope this doesn't suck and you enjoy it!
Have a stupendous day my peeps (cheep cheep)!
