Monokuma: Well, I'm pretty sure you kids all know how these work. Oh, except you there, Towa kids. Then let me explain. You kids will yell at each other, trying to figure out who kidnapped Nagito and Mikan. After a while, you'll all vote for who did it. If you pick the right person, that person will get to spend the night sleeping outside! But if you pick the wrong person, I'll execute all of you, except the culprit and their victims! So, I bet you all wish you were Nagito right now, huh? No matter what happens, he and Mikan are guaranteed to survive!

Kazuichi: Nagito and Mikan... are guaranteed to live?

Taka (Kiyotaka): Okay then...everyone close your eyes, and whoever did it, raise your hand!

Mondo: That didn't work last time! Why would it work now!?

Makoto: I guess old habits die hard.

Fuyuhiko: Speaking of old habits, I'd like to make an accusation right now!

Hajime: Isn't it a little early for that? I mean, we haven't even discussed HOW they were kidnapped.

Fuyuhiko: I know that. But I got a feeling in my gut that I think I know who did it.

Akane: Hey, that's my thing, Baby Gangster!

Fuyuhiko: Stop calling me that!

Kyoko: Anyway, I think we should discuss the method of kidnapping before any outright accusations are made. Fuyuhiko, if you still think you know who did it after we do so, then so ahead.

Fuyuhiko: I guess that makes sense. I just want to find out who did this. Just being down in this trial room brings back bad memories...

Byakuya: Same here. But let's just start. The faster we find the culprit, the faster we can get out of here.

Akane: So, how was Nagito kidnapped?

Kazuichi: We don't know that!

Chiaki: And Mikan was also kidnapped.

Mahiru: I can't think of anyone who had a motive to kidnap them both...

Nagisa: Either way, we need to know how they were kidnapped.

Nagisa: Or where. Even a location would be a good start.

Kazuichi: Well, we have no clues about where they were kidnapped!

Kyoko: Are you sure about that?

Hajime: (Hmm... Nagito and Mikan were both kidnapped... What would be the best place to start...?)

Kazuichi: Well, we have no clues about where they were kidnapped!

Bottle of Chloroform

"No, that's wrong!"

BREAK!!!

Hajime: Wait a second! I think it's very obvious where they were kidnapped.

Kyoko: I see you've also figured it out, Hajime.

Masaru: Hey! Stop bragging that you figured it out! I bet we could've done that if we had enough time!

Hajime: ...Anyway, we found a bottle of chloroform in the pharmacy!

Sayaka: I-In the pharmacy?

Masaru: What's chloroform?

Kyoko: Chloroform is an organic compound. If inhaled, it can cause a person to be knocked out.

Leon: So the kidnapper totally used that stuff, right?

Kotoko: Which means that adorbs nurse and the weird guy were kidnapped in the pharmacy!

Nagisa: Well, that's a bit weak as conclusive evidence. Were there any other clues?

Hajime: (Hmm... was there anything else suspicious about the pharmacy?)

Chloroform Rag

"I can prove it with this!"

Hajime: Chiaki and I found a rag with traces of chloroform on it in the trash can in the pharmacy!

Komaru: Oh yeah! I forgot about that!

Kyoko: So, we have a bottle of chloroform and a rag with traces on it both found in the pharmacy.

Hiro(Yasuhiro): That MUST mean they were kidnapped in the pharmacy!

Taka: Wait a minute! What if they just planted those pieces of evidence there after the crime?

Byakuya: Why would they do that?

Monaca: Well... Are we absolutely sure they were kidnapped at the pharmacy?

Chihiro: Were there any signs of a struggle?

Hajime: (Hmm... Anything unusual about the pharmacy...)

Nagisa: Was there anything else unusual about the pharmacy?

Yuta: We turned it upside down and we found nothing strange.

Komaru: Aside from the chloroform bottle.

Kazuichi: Were they really not kidnapped in the pharmacy?

Hiro: Well, where else would they be kidnapped?

Jataro: What if they kidnapped themselves?

Fuyuhiko: That's just stupid.

Jataro: Man, you must hate all my remarks, right?

Hajime: (If I could just prove one more thing was strange, that should convince everyone. Did Yuta and Komaru not find ANYTHING? If they didn't... does that mean that something was removed from the scene?)

Yuta: We turned it upside down and we found nothing strange.

Kiyotaka's Account

"No, that's wrong!"

BREAK!!!

Hajime: Taka, you said that you, Gundam, and Sonia saw glass shards in the pharmacy.

Taka: Yes! I made sure to clean them up, as well!

Gundam: I can testify to that.

Makoto: So something broke at the pharmacy...

Hiyoko: I bet that clumsy pig dropped one of her needles!

Chiaki: Actually, there wasn't many things made of glass in the pharmacy. The windows were all intact, and since there weren't any pills or liquid, it couldn't have been medicine.

Komaru: So then... It came from something outside the pharmacy?

Kazuichi: I guess it must've.

Nagisa: So they must have been kidnapped there.

Hajime: Exactly.

Kyoko: So, now that we know where they were kidnapped, let's move on.

"Wait one moment!"

Taka: Hold on! I'm not yet convinced that those two were kidnapped at the pharmacy!

Hajime: But all the evidence! It's the only explanation!

Taka: Is it? I have another theory.

Rebuttal Showdown

"Nagito and Mikan were not kidnapped at the pharmacy!"

"The kidnapper attacked them in a different location..."

"And planted the evidence in the pharmacy!"

Hajime: If they were kidnapped somewhere else, why did the kidnapper place the evidence in the pharmacy!?

"They obviously did that to throw us off their tracks!"

"They must have committed the crime..."

"And then planted the bottle and rag!"

Hajime: What about the glass shards you found? Where did those come from? They clearly came from something that wasn't a medicine container!

"Those clearly must have come from something unrelated to the pharmacy!"

"Someone might have drank something there..."

"And dropped their glass!"

Komaru's Account

"Allow me to cut through those words!"

CUT!

Hajime: Unfortunately for you Taka, but those glass shards are definitely involved in this case!

Taka: How!?

Hajime: Komaru. Wasn't the light in the pharmacy busted when you searched?

Komaru: Yeah. Yuta and I put a new lightbulb in so we could search, though. What does that have to do with the case, though?

Toko: Omaru, are you serious? The shards are from the broken light!

Komaru: Oh my god! I didn't even think of that!

Byakuya: Are you sure you're related to Makoto?

Makoto: So, the light in the pharmacy was broken.

Hina (Aoi): The kidnapper probably broke the light so that Nagito and Mikan couldn't see anything.

Kyoko: And then they use the chloroform and rag to knock them out.

Hajime: Anyway, this is definite proof that Nagito and Mikan were kidnapped at the pharmacy!

Hifumi: I get that but... what does that mean?

Fuyuhiko: It means that we know where they where kidnapped.

Leon: So... who did it?

Monaca: Monaca didn't do it. Monaca was at the amusement park with Nagisa and the other Warriors of Hope all day.

Makoto: The next step would probably be to discuss more about the kidnapping before we start finding alibis.

Kyoko: I agree. If we get too focused on alibis, we won't be able to finger the right culprit.

Teruteru: Finger?

Hiyoko: Shut up!

Mondo: Isn't it obvious how the kidnapper did it? They used that rag and the chloroform.

Chihiro: They somehow broke the light, and then used the chloroform to knock them both out.

Kyoko: But is that exactly how it went?

Hajime: (How the kidnapper used the chloroform...)

Mahiru: How did the killer sneak up on Nagito to use the chloroform?

Kazuichi: They probably messed with the fuse box to put the lights out.

Peko: But the light was shattered.

Peko: Doesn't that mean that the culprit broke the light?

Sayaka: But if Nagito and Mikan were inside the pharmacy when that happened...

Sayaka: How did they break the light?

Masaru: I know! What if they bought a slingshot from the supermarket...

Masaru: And used that!

Chiaki: That's... kinda specific.

Masaru: Shut up, filthy demon!

Hajime: (The culprit had to have broken the light to surprise Nagito and Mikan. How did they do it? Maybe I should just prove how they DIDN'T break it, first...)

Masaru: I know! What if they bought a slingshot from the supermarket...

Supermarket Receipt #1

"No, that's wrong!"

BREAK!!!

Hajime: Masaru, that's just impossible.

Masaru: What!? How are you so sure, filthy demon!?

Hajime: Because I have a list of everything that was bought at the supermarket yesterday, and there is nothing that could have been used to break the light.

Akane: What about the padlock? They could have thrown that.

Mahiru: I doubt they used that.

Gundam: She is correct. My attempts to break the lock proved one thing above all else. It is really heavy. Though it could shatter glass, it would be very risky to do.

Kyoko: I'm pretty sure that the culprit just used this.

Hajime: That's... just a pebble.

Kyoko: I found this in the pharmacy.

Taka: What makes you think that the culprit threw that into the light?

Kyoko: It was located on top of a shelf in the pharmacy. It probably got there from when the culprit threw it.

Kotoko: So, does that mean that everything bought at the supermarket is unrelated?

Byakuya: No, that's impossible. You know why, right Hajime?

Hajime: Why the things bought at the supermarket have to do with the kidnapping? I do have proof.

Bottle Of Chloroform

"I can prove it with this!"

Hajime: There are several items on the list that can directly connect to a kidnapping, as well as what we've proven. The bottle of chloroform is the biggest clue.

Taka: I can testify that there was no chloroform when I inspected the pharmacy yesterday.

Twogami: So the chloroform bottle was definitely from the supermarket.

Ibuki: Oh, Ibuki is intrigued! And also confused. Can someone explain this to Ibuki?

Chiaki: I can do that.

Hiro: Then go right ahead! I'm a bit confused, too.

Chiaki: So to summarize what we know so far... Nagito and Mikan went to the pharmacy. The culprit threw the rock to break the lights, used the chloroform rag to knock them out, and...

Hina: Hey, wait a second! Doesn't that seem... weird?

Chiaki: What does?

Kazuichi: Would you just tell us, you jerk!?

Hajime: (Something strange about the kidnapping... Well, since Byakuya figured it out, it'd have to do with him, right? What did he find out?)

Byakuya: Isn't there another strange thing about the kidnapping?

Byakuya's Calculations

"I agree with that!"

BREAK!!!

Hajime: You're talking about the missing rope and blanket, right?

Byakuya: Yes, exactly.

Hiyoko: Hey! Stop acting all jerky!

Kazuichi: Can you just tell us already!?

Byakuya: Fine.

Byakuya: Looking over what was bought at the supermarket and what was missing from the inventory, there were two things missing. It seems like someone stole a rope and a blanket from the supermarket.

Taka: Whoever stole those items MUST face the consequences of stealing!

Chiaki: Wait... That doesn't sound quite right... I think...

Byakuya: Are you doubting my logic?

Hajime: (Hmm... What's not right about stealing from the pharmacy?)

Supermarket Detectors

"I can prove it with this!"

Hajime: I'm sorry, Byakuya, but it's impossible to steal anything from the supermarket!

Byakuya: What do you mean?

Hajime: Monomi told us that there are detectors that sound an alarm when a stolen item passes by it.

Byakuya: What!? Why wasn't I told about this?

Hajime: And there definitely wasn't an alarm yesterday!

Monokuma: Monomi! Did you help these little brats with the case? I told you not to help them!

Monomi: I'm sorry! Please forgive me!

Fuyuhiko: Hey, we don't need another Mikan around here! One is enough!

Teruteru: I don't know. I'd always welcome another lovely little lady to this island.

Komaru: Is he like this all the time?

Twogami: Unfortunately, yes.

Hajime: (Though, I wish he wasn't...)

Makoto: Anyway, back to the case. Why were two items missing from the supermarket?

Hajime: (That's a very important question... How did they leave the supermarket?)

Hajime: Well, the other important deal would explain how the culprit got an extra rope.

Hajime: How exactly can you just say that?

Mahiru: Trust me, I have a reason for this!

Hajime: Since nobody knew about Kurokuma's deals yesterday... And they only bought one rope...

Sakura: No... You can't mean...!

Hajime: The culprits planned to only kidnap one person from the start!

Sayaka: What!?

Leon: That's crazy!

Nagisa: But it looks like the only possibility.

Yuta: But... Is that all the proof we have?

Hajime: (Is there anything else that points towards planning to kidnap one person?)

"I can prove it with this!"

Hajime: We only found one chloroform rag in the pharmacy.

Makoto: I get it! The culprits bought only one to use on one person!

Peko: So they must have used something else to subdue or knock out the second person.

Makoto: Either way, they planned on only kidnapping Nagito or Mikan from the beginning.

Byakuya: But when they arrived at the pharmacy, there was something there that ruined their perfect plan.

Hajime: (What was at the pharmacy that caused the culprits to change their plan?)

Kotoko: So that adorbs nurse got caught up in something by chance? That's certainly unlucky.

Kyoko: I think that it'd be best that I summarize the case so far before we continue.

Akane: Yeah. I'm getting lost here.

Komaru: So am I. Then again, I've never done this whole trial thing before. I don't know how you and your friends could do this so much, Makoto.

Makoto: Yeah, we've done this a lot...

Kyoko: Anyway, here is the case so far.

Kyoko: After everyone left the restaurant yesterday, Nagito and Mikan went to the pharmacy.

Kyoko: The two culprits went to the supermarket and purchased everything related to the kidnapping on the list.

Kyoko: They planned on only kidnapping Nagito, but lucked out on getting a second rope. And an extra blanket. We currently haven't established what the blankets were for.

Kyoko: When they arrived at the pharmacy, they saw Mikan and had to change their plans.

Kyoko: They couldn't kidnap Nagito without Mikan, so one of them threw a pebble to break the light.

Kyoko: With the targets blinded, one of the culprits used the chloroform rag, most likely on Nagito, while the other culprit used some other method to knock out Mikan.

Akane: I get it now! So that's when they dragged them off to the old lodge, right?

Leon: So we did it! We figured out the kidnapping!

Kotoko: Yay! Now we can get that adorbs nurse back!

Makoto: Actually... We aren't done yet...

Chiaki: Yes. We still have one important thing to figure out.

Kazuichi: And what's that? We solved the case, right?

Kyoko: No. We only figured out how Nagito and Mikan were kidnapped.

Jataro: So... That means...

Hajime: We still don't know who the culprits are!

Hajime: (The culprits who kidnapped Nagito and Mikan...)

Hajime: (We have to fine them!)

Hajime: (Because if we don't...)

Hajime: (Then we...)

Hajime: (We will all die here!)
