-Hajime P. O. V.-

The next morning, I woke up early. I checked my alarm and it said 6:50. I have fifteen minutes.

I decided not to wake up Makoto and go to the restaurant early.

When I left my cottage, I saw someone sitting by the pool. I approached and noticed that it was Sayaka. She looked kinda upset.

"Hey Sayaka." I said, walking up to her.

"Oh, hi Hajime." She greeted. Her smile was weak.

"Is something wrong?" I asked.

She was quiet for a moment. "Hajime, would you say that you and Mikan are friends? Or, do you think that you know how Mikan acts around people?"

I shrugged. "Mikan's a bit of a strange character, but I can kinda tell what she thinks. Why?"

She went quiet again. "Do you think that... Mikan doesn't like me?"

"That's... a bit odd. Mikan doesn't really hate anybody. Not even Hiyoko, despite all the insults she yells at her. Why?"

She got up on her feet and shook her head." No, no, it's fine. I'll talk to her about it." She then went to the restaurant.

That was a bit odd, but I decided to go, too. Sayaka went straight up to the restaurant from the outside entrance, but I decided to go through the first floor lobby.

When I went inside, there were two people there already. Chiaki was playing a video game, and Chihiro was sitting in a chair with his laptop. When I came in, he looked up and smiled at me. "Hello Hajime." That seemed to get Chiaki's attention, and she looked away from her game for a moment to nod a hello.

"Hey guys." I went over to Chihiro to see what he was up to. "What are doing up early?"

Alter Ego wasn't on the laptop. Chihiro looked like he was programming something. It looked really advanced with all the lines of code. I couldn't do that for sure. "I'm programming a new function into Alter Ego. I'm making it so he'll be able to flow through the systems of the island at his own free will. I woke up early so that I could finish before everyone woke up, because I wanted to plug him in today. I just need some place for him to access the systems, like something with an antenna or a satellite dish or something like that."

I nodded. "Interesting. I bet Kazuichi would know where something like that would be."

Chihiro nodded. "Okay. I'll make sure to talk to him when we wakes up!"

Diiiing Doooong Diiiing Doooong

The morning announcement bell played as Izuru's face flashed on the screen.

"Good morning, everyone! It is now 7:00 am, and it is officially morning! Time to rise and shine! Let's have another beautiful day!" His face disappeared as quickly as it came.

The second Izuru's face disappeared, Taka burst in through the doors. "Good morning! All of you upstairs right away! This is an emergency!"

Chihiro closed his laptop, tucked it under his arm, and waddled away up the stairs. Chiaki didn't move.

"Uh, Chiaki, I think we should go upstairs." I told her as I approached.

She didn't respond. "Chiaki?" I poked her shoulder. She didn't move. She was asleep.

I shook her shoulders. "Chiaki!"

She woke up. "Hajime...?" She asked, sleepily.

"Hey Chiaki. It's morning. C'mon, we need to go to the restaurant."

She nodded, then she grabbed my hand and went up the stairs. I blushed at the notion.

When we reached the top, Chiaki let go of my hand. She went over to a table. I sat down at the table with her. Slowly, everybody came to the restaurant. Except for Mikan and Nagito, I noticed.

"Have you guys seen Nagito?" Leon asked. "He never came back to the cottage last night."

"That's weird." Sayaka asked.

"This is why I said it was important!" Taka yelled. "During my morning inspection, I noticed that Nagito and Mikan weren't in their cottages! So, I ran all around the first island, and I couldn't find them! Not even in the storage room of the old lodge!"

"Why the first island?" Makoto asked.

"I would've checked more places, but it turns out that this gate was blocking me from going to the other islands, even the central one."

"Those are the rules." Izuru's face appeared on the monitor in the room.

"What are you talking about?" Byakuya asked.

"Actually, I have something for you guys." Monomi said. That's when I noticed that she had a box.

"What is that?" Byakuya asked, turning to the girl.

"Well, Monokuma and I found out that we don't have rooms at the motel, so he decided to sleep in the Monokuma factory, and I slept in my house on the fourth island. When I woke up, this box was sitting at the foot of my bed." Monomi set the box on a table and opened it.

It was full of e-Handbooks. It took us a few minutes to sort them all out. Eventually, we all had our handbooks, even the kumas and the guys from Towa City. Except for Nagito and Mikan.

"So, where do you think that they went?" I asked.

"You fool." Byakuya said. "It's obvious that someone has started the series of kidnappings. They have been kidnapped."

"That's just fucking insane." Fuyuhiko said. "Mikan probably got lost or something, and Nagito's probably just trying to mess with you."

"Well, it's possible that they've been kidnapped." Chihiro said. "Izuru said that after 24 hours, he will announce that someone has been kidnapped."

Izuru popped on the screen. "A person has been kidnapped! After a few hours, we will hold a class trial to determine who the culprit is!"

"A person has been kidnapped! After a few hours, we will hold a class trial to determine who the culprit is!" His face flashed off the screen.

"Like that." Chihiro said.

"Well, this confirms it. They have been kidnapped." Byakuya said.

"I suggest we investigate." Kyoko said.

"Toko, come with me." Byakuya said, walking out almost immediately after. Toko hurried after him.

"I'm going to find the missing students!" Taka ran out.

"Makoto, you come with me." Kyoko said. The two of them left.

"I'll help Taka find them!" Nekomaru yelled. Akane was following him.

"Kazuichi, can you help me with something on the third island?" Chihiro and Kazuichi left, talking to each other.

"We'd better prepare for the trial." Monomi said. The four kumas left together.

"I have an idea." Mondo said, leaving.

"Cham-P! Lead the way to the true villain of this incident!" Gundam set one of his hamsters down and he and Sonia followed it.

Mahiru, Mukuro, Taichi, Haiji, Hiroko, and Hiyoko left, silently.

"According to the e-Handbooks, we all get to participate in the trial, except for Taichi, Hiroko, and Haiji, as they are adults and not teenagers or kids like us. I suggest we also investigate. I know the best place to start." Nagisa left, Monaca and Jataro after him.

"That's just stupid." Masaru said. "I'm sure I got a better idea than Nagisa. I'm going to the supermarket!"

"Masaru, brilliant! They probably used something from there to kidnap the adorbs nurse and the guy who looks like our old servant!" Kotoko cheered, as the two kids left.

"That's a good idea, kid. I'll come too." Leon added, following the two.

"I'll... I 'll try something." Sayaka said, leaving.

Junko went after where Mukuro went.

Hifumi and Teruteru chased after Celeste, who calmly walked down the stairs.

"I will try my best as well." Sakura went down the stairs.

"Peko, I think we should try the pharmacy." Fuyuhiko said. "I think I saw Nagito going there after we left." Peko nodded and the two left.

"Ibuki's going to listen to Bya- I mean, Twogami! Where should we investigate, Twogami!?"

"Well, the best course of action would be to look for a place where it would be easy to hide or kidnap someone. Let's go to the music venue. You were there, so you might be able to help." The two left, Ibuki chattering away.

"Umm... I think I'll go check the second island." Komaru said.

"I'll go with you." Yuta followed the girl.

"I guess... Maybe I'll go help Sakura. She's usually pretty smart." Hiro said.

"That's what I was thinking!" Hina cheerfully said. The two went after Sakura.

That left me and Chiaki. She approached me.

"Hajime, what do you think we should do?"

I thought for a moment.

"I think there's one place that would be the best place to start."

Chiaki smiled. "I knew you would know. Let's go."

I nodded.

It's time to investigate.
