Chapter 11: The First Kidnapping
-Mukuro P. O. V.-
"So, you're saying that you definitely are NOT going to kidnap me, is that right?" Taka asked.
I was searching the military base for any rifles or survival knives that I could use to keep my skills up. He followed me, saying that I was endangering everyone on this island, as well as disturbing the peace, and something about a school environment.
"Listen, Taka. I don't want to kidnap anybody. Also, why would I use a knife or a gun to kidnap anybody? I'd get some rope or something." I told him while I rummaged through a box of rifles, looking for a loaded one.
"That is true." He said. "I apologize for accusing you. By the way, I've been meaning to ask you a question. What are you going to fire the guns AT in order to train? It better not be windows or anything."
I stopped rummaging for a moment and looked at him. "Listen, I'm not going to kill or kidnap anybody. I'll find something to shoot. Tin cans, apples, balloons, anything would work, really." I went back to searching the box. Taka was silent for a bit. I checked each rifle and none were loaded.
I slammed the box shut. "Damn it!" I shouted. I went over to another box. Full of knives. "Here we go."
Taka peered over my shoulder. "This all looks very dangerous."
I sighed. "I told you, I'm keeping my skills sharp. I'm the Ultimate Soldier, remember? What, are you just going to stop being the Ultimate Moral Compass just because we're on a tropical island?"
He paused a moment, as if he was choosing his words out carefully. "Of course not. I'm the leader of this group, so I have to-"
I cut him off. "Woah, slow down there, buddy. Who said you were the leader?"
He seemed offended. "What!? I'm the leader! I led the group at Hope's Peak, so I should naturally be the leader, here!"
I recalled what little memory of Hope's Peak I experienced. "You didn't seem like much of a leader."
He clenched his fist. "I was the leader! I organized the morning meetings! I checked on every student! I watched over each of you and did my best to uncover the murderers!"
I sighed. "I guess you have a point. But, seems like you might have a bit of competition."
"What do you mean by that?" He was really interested in the conversation now.
"That Twogami guy said he went to go train to slim down to be a model leader. Plus, if we have an elected vote, I don't think anybody will vote for you, except maybe me out of pity."
He smiled. "Well, then I look forward to this! Tomorrow morning, when everyone is gathered, I will present the idea to elect a leader. That's when you'll vote for me! You promised! You must uphold your word! Breaking promises is not welcome in a school environment!"
I groaned. "Fine! If I vote for you, will you stop bothering me!?"
He nodded then saluted. "I swear on my honor!"
I rolled my eyes. "Fine, I'll vote for you. Makoto would probably still win even without my vote."
He perked up at that. "Oh, you think Makoto would be a good leader? He has potential, but I find him to be a bit lazy sometimes, but not in the trials! He does so much work in them! Anyway, I said I'd stop bothering you, so I'll go to that pharmacy I heard about on the second island. I should prepare a supply of aspirin. I get constant headaches from all my yelling."
And with that, he finally turned and left.
Geez, he's such a hardass.
But, he does have a pretty nice haircut. It really fits his personality.
-Nagito P. O. V.-
I awoke in a dark room.
I could feel my hands tied and my feet were tied up too. Both with rope. My mouth was free, so I was about to ask for help, when someone walked in. I was facing away from the door, so I couldn't see them. I turned over to face them, but it was too dark to make out who they were.
"Hi Nagito. So, you finally woke up?" the figure spoke. They seemed to have some sort of voice modulator.
"Hey." I said. "So, you're the first kidnapper, are you?"
I'm assuming the kidnapper nodded. "Yes, that's correct."
I smirked. "I'm guessing you won't tell me your name, how about your motive? Or where I am? Or what's up with your voice?"
The figure chuckled. "Well, telling you almost any of that would give me away, but I can tell you where you are. You are currently in a place where nobody will find you, at least for the time being. You are currently in the storage room in the old lodge."
"Clever. Nobody would even think of coming in here, is that what you were thinking? Because it was off limits?"
"That is correct." he continued.
I laughed. "You idiot! Monomi can't stop you from entering here anymore! And what if someone did come in here? Or if a couple decided to go on a date here, in a private place? Like, for example, Fuyuhiko got the nerve to bring Peko here and make out with her? Then your plan is ruined?"
The figure growled at me. "Shut up!" they yelled.
I laughed for a moment, then paused, a thought popping into my head. "What did you do to Mikan?"
They laughed again, a bit more sinister. "Oh, her? She's probably still asleep. She's lying right next to you."
I turned my head and felt a presence in the dark. Mikan...
"Well, I'd better get back to my alibi. My accomplice should be waiting at their position. I was making sure your Ultimate Luck didn't somehow find a way to undo your restraints or something stupid like that. Have a good 24 hours." They then left the room, quickly, to prevent me from getting a good look.
Unfortunately, I didn't. I was also blindfolded, so the room might have been lit up, actually, but I had no idea. To me, the room was dark.
I hope that someone finds us.
