Everybody Loves Somebody
Bonnie from the next class seems to like me. Apparently.
"What? Is that the girl you were talking about? She's cute," Foxy says which I overheard.
"Stupid! Your being to loud! She'll hear us!" Bonnie told him as he tried covering his mouth.
I found out because of his noisy friend.
. . . . . . .
The school bell rang signalling that it was the end of school. I put my things inside my bag and arranged my table.
"Now, we are ending the school meeting," our student council president told us.
Suddenly, I felt something heavy pushed towards my back. I turned around to see Bonnie with a sly smile.
"Sorry," he muttered as he sweat drops.
"No problem," I told him and he went off to his friend.
He probably pushed Bonnie towards me. He continued to tease Bonnie and he responds with "I told you to stop." as they walked in the hallways.
"It seems like Bonnie likes you, Mangle," Bonbon told me and smirked.
"Yeah," I told her.
It was my first time...Hearing a guy do that to me. It wasn't bad...but...
"What? Is that the girl you were talking about? She's cute."
"Stupid! Your being to loud! She'll hear us!"
Because ever since that day, I kept on remembering.
"What happened? You seem distracted lately," Bonbon told me which stirred up my thoughts.
"Huh? Really?" I asked innocently.
"Something happened right?~" she asked as she puts her arms over my shoulder.
"No-nothing!" I told her.
"Ah, the next class is moving," Bonbon says. My ears perked up and I smiled.
"What? Really?" I asked glancing at the door with my smile still reaching my ears.
"Hah!" she suddenly says and only then did I realize that I've been tricked. "Mangle~"
"It isn't like I love him yet," I told Bonbon. We were sitting on the stairs as I told her about what I was thinking about lately.
"Yes, yes. But you're attracted to him, right?" she asks.
"Ye-yeah," I answered.
"Then just confess to him!" she told me which made my face red.
"What?! Confess?!"
Bonbon stood up and held both my hands. She helped me stand up and pulls me toward the hallways.
"Come on! Be brave!" she tells me.
"What?!"
We were hiding behind the edge of the hallway as I heard silent footsteps of Bonnie and his friend nearby. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my back pushing me.
Then I realized, there I was. Standing in front of two familiar guys. Bonbon stood behind my back with a smirk on her face.
"I like you. Please go out with me..."
"...is what this girl want to say," Bonbon tells Bonnie.
I turned red.
"What?" Bonnie asked with a confused look then turns red. "Really?"
He then bows his head down to hide his blushing face. "Then, please take good care of me."
I bowed my head too and ran away together with Bonbon.
"Bonbon, thank you!" I told her.
Since I was always quiet and a shy girl, I never imagined I would get a boyfriend. Then I thought, it wasn't really hard to get one. Just by thinking that someone cares about you, just by that, everything seems happier and more colorful.
Bonbon, Bonnie, his friend and I walked home together. I was walking with Bonnie in complete silence as I feel two people following us from behind.
Right now, we are still embarrassed and cannot talk to each other very well.
"Then, were going this way," Bonnie informs us and glances at the left pathway.
"Okay, bye bye!" I told him.
"Bye bye! See you tomorrow!" Bonnie tells me and waves his hand. His friend put up a slight wave.
I'm happy. It was fun. I love him!
I was lying on top of my bed when suddenly my ringtone rang. I checked my phone and saw that I got a message from Bonnie.
Thank you for today! It's a bit sudden but do you want to go to the amusement park with me this Saturday?
I smiled by myself. I quickly typed a reply saying that I agree to come.
But...
I didn't know at this time, that love isn't always...
As easy as it may seem...
We went to the amusement park that Saturday. I brought Bonbon along with me since I was too nervous.
I watched in awkward silence as Bonnie and Bonbon talked about video games they both love - things I didn't understand.
It seems like Bonnie is happier talking to Bonbon. No...that can't be, right? Because Bonnie like me...
The long day ended with me just standing listening to their conversations. It was really awkward.
"You guys are going to the the same direction, right? Should I tag along?" Bonbon asked me.
"No need Bon," I told her and we both said our goodbyes to her.
Bonnie and I sat in silence inside the train. "What about the boy who is always with you? I haven't seen him around lately," I suddenly blurted out.
"He's been absent lately. He got the flu," Bonnie told me.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Silence...
I can't find a topic to talk about...
That same night, I started to wonder. Do I really like Bonnie? No, I probably liked him.
When I came to school the next day, I saw Bonbon and Bonnie talking to each other again. They really get along well. But...whatever.
At lunch time, I talked to Bonbon and asked her about things I wanted to know.
"Hey, Bonbon. Do you like Bonnie by any chance?" I asked her. Her face twitched.
"W-what? No way!" she told me.
"You can tell me the truth...Because..." Bonbon looked at me and I smiled at her.
"...honestly, I don't like Bonnie anymore," I finished.
"WHAT?! REALLY?"
"Yeah. I was happy that Bonnie said he liked me so I just got excited," I told her.
Bonbon looked down and started to talk. I listened to every word she said. "I started to talk to Bonnie when you started to date him. Then, I started to fall for him. I thought I couldn't...because you two were together."
"I see..."
Love is so complicated.
Bonbon and Bonnie started to date right after that. I was a little bit lonely. But since they look so good together, I was so happy in just watching them.
It was dismissal and Bonbon and Bonnie walked home together as they both said goodbye to me. I had to pick up things in my locker so I stayed for a while.
I started to think about things that happened in the past months as I walked in the hallways leading to the lockers.
Love is really complicated. Last month, I was nervous, and anxious. I was really in love. Where did those feelings go? Where...
"Mangle..."
I glanced at the direction where the calling of my voice came from.
"Hello," he greeted me and coughed.
It was Bonnie's friend.
"Ah...Hi," I told him.
Dug dug...
Dug dug...
Huh?
"Have you recovered from the flu?" I asked him.
"Ah..yeah," he replied.
Dug dug...
Dug dug...
Huh? Wait...do I by any chance...?
Dug dug...
Dug dug...
Maybe from the very beginning...
'"What? Is that the girl you were talking about? She's cute."
...Instead of Bonnie...
"She's cute..."
I liked his...friend?
I saw his body slightly swinging.
"Are you okay?!" I asked as I walked towards him.
. . .
Apparently, my friend, Bonnie likes Mangle from the class next door. He actually told me last week.
"Really? Who? Let's go see her!" I told Bonnie.
"OK. But don't say anything," Bonnie said.
"Roger!"
But when I saw her...she's really cute.
"What? Is that the girl you were talking about? She's cute," I said as I saw Mangle passed by us.
"Stupid! Your being to loud! She'll hear us!" Bonnie told me as he tried covering my mouth.
Even I got nervous.
Was there such a cute girl in that class? I didn't know...
The school bell rang and the student council president ended the meeting.
I pushed Bonnie toward Mangle to see their reactions. Bonnie apologized to Mangle and punched me slightly on the shoulder. I continued to tease him as he told me to stop.
From that day on, knowing that Bonnie didn't like it, I kept on being noisy.
"She definitely found out!" Bonnie panicked.
"Relax...Isn't this a chance for you to confess?" I asked with a smirk.
"You don't like anyone, do you?" Bonnie blurted out.
"W-what?! No!" I told him.
"That's why you don't know how I feel," he told me. "I don't want to fail..so I'm thinking."
I understand it. A lot.
I am helping you on the outside. But on the inside, I'm rooting for your love to fail. A weird feeling...
I told him to confess but he doesn't have that courage.
One day, as Bonnie and I walked in the hallways...
Suddenly, Mangle came out of nowhere with a girl standing behind her back with a smirk on her face.
"I like you. Please go out with me..."
"...is what this girl want to say," Bonbon tells Bonnie.
My head turned blank. There was a feeling of pain on my chest. Something really unexpected happened!
"What?" Bonnie asked with a confused look then turns red. "Really?"
He then bows his head down to hide his blushing face. "Then, please take good care of me."
She bowed her head too and ran away together with her friend.
What?! Why?!
"She realized my feelings too and started to be self conscious! It's all thanks to you Foxy!" Bonnie told me as he shook my hand.
"Uh..yeah."
I'm stupid. I am ridiculous for rooting for him on the outside and keeping my feelings inside!
"I'm going home with Mangle today. Come with me," Bonnie told me.
"Uh..sure," I said.
I watched the two couple at the back with Mangle's friend. I was glaring at them while Bonbon was smirking.
She's cute after all....
"Then, were going this way," Bonnie informs them and glances at the left pathway.
"Okay, bye bye!" Mangle told him.
"Bye bye! See you tomorrow!" Bonnie tells her and waves his hand. I raised my hand a bit.
It seems like God has abandoned me...
It was pouring hard that day. I stayed outside while it was raining. On the day I broke my heart, I got sick...
I lay in bed with a flu as I tried recalling memories. When we were younger, I liked the same girl Bonnie liked as well. I tried my best to get her attention but Bonnie won in the end.
I'm more popular than him.
I'm smarter.
I can play soccer.
I'm probably more handsome too...
But he's always the happy one in the end? What is this feeling?
I lay in bed for 5 days as my condition gets worse. I stood up from my bed and got our of my room...
"Mom, buy me some juice," I ordered her.
"Oh, don't you order me around young man. Just because your sick, your personality gets even worse!" she told me.
Horrible...personality?
Oh, I see...I have a horrible personality.
Oh yeah. I rooted for Bonnie even if in real truth I wanted him to fail.
I do have a horrible personality!
"Mom! How can I fix my personality?!" I asked her.
She stared at me for a while. "What?! Who knows? By being more honest?"
Being more honest...
Being heart broken, can be a chance to change yourself.
"I'm off to school!"
"Bonnie!" I called his attention.
"Oh, Foxy. I thought you were sick. Are you fine already?" he asked me.
I coughed a little. "Forget about that! I have to tell you something!"
He stared at me.
"Just listen, okay? I told you a long time ago that I didn't like anyone. But I actually like Mangle!"
"Oh really?" he asked me.
What's with that reaction?! Isn't he going to punch me?
"I just said I liked your girlfriend! Aren't you go-"
I was cut off by seeing Mangle's friend with Bonnie.
"Come on, Bonnie. Let's head home!" she told him.
"Yeah, my bad," Bonnie responds.
"Huh?! What is happening?!" I asked them.
"A lot has happened while you were absent. If you like Mangle, just confess to her," Bonnie told me and went away with Bonbon.
WHAT?!
What's going on?! I don't get it.
I feel dizzy...
I wondered off and found myself walking towards the place where the lockers were placed. There, I saw her.
"Mangle," I uttered her name. She looks at my direction and I coughed a little.
"Hello.." I greeted her.
"Ah..hi," she tells me.
"Have you recovered from the flu?" she asked me.
"Ah..yeah," I lied.
This is bad. I'm feeling really dizzy. My body started swinging.
"Are you okay?!"
Mangle walked toward me seeing the condition I am in now.
My head suddenly landed on Mangle's shoulder. I can hear her sharp breaths as my heart beat raced.
"I like you. Please go out with me," I whispered to her ear as I closed my eyes.
~end~
