Lotte World I

K i m  J i n h e e

It took me a moment to figure out why Taehyung had been acting like a jerk. I got nothing, until the back of my mind recalled something about that night.

"Are you scared of me?" He stared at me with his intense yet cold gaze. As if he wanted to stay away from me or he wanted to stay, it would all depend on my answer and it was baffling.

"Not at all," I answered, smiling at him.

Did I answer it wrong? Was I supposed to say yes? I frowned at the thought of Taehyung acting like nothing really happened yesterday. He might not remember anything but yesterday, it gave me a lot to remember.

The fight, the hugs, and the part of holding hands with him...

"Earth to Jinhee?" Suzy's voice brought me out of my monologue.

"Yeah? Did I miss anything?" I quickly asked her back. She scanned my expression properly.

"Remember what I said. If I think that Bangtan boys are not good for you to hang out with, then you shall resign as their manager." Suzy was giving me the warning look. I rolled my eyes but nodded anyway.

"Yes, mom. I will," I emphasized and gave her a playful smile.

"Uh, guys. Let me introduce my two best friends, though it was kind of late. This is Bae Suzy," I gestured to Suzy who was showing her golden smile. But behind that smile, I knew she was just faking it because she never liked the boys anyway.

"And this is Jung Soojung." I moved to Soojung who had a small smile plastered on her face. But that smile didn't hold long as soon as she saw Namjoon. She gave her best death glare while Namjoon smirked upon seeing that. I guessed they somehow have this love-hate relationship.

"Nice meeting you two. Let's enjoy the rides like there's no tomorrow!" Jimin exclaimed excitedly as he pulled Hoseok with him while walking and jumping.

Hoseok looked surprised and was trying to run away but Jimin already looped hands with him and he knew that he did not have the chance to escape anymore. It would be useless against Jimin.

"This is for you." Jin suddenly put something on my head. I touched my head and took it off. Bunny ear?

I saw Jin glared a little and I put it over my head back, smiling sheepishly at him. But my smile disappeared promptly as I looked at everyone else. I had my brows furrowed because all of them were wearing cat ears instead of bunny ears.

"Why am I the only one who wears bunny ear?" I asked, showing dissatisfaction. I hoped it did not come out childish.

"You're not the only one Jinhee, look behind you." Jin chuckled and pointed at something behind me.

I turned around and saw Jungkook was walking towards me, wearing the same bunny ear as I was. He had his hands shoved in his pocket.

"Geez. I don't want to wear this. It's bothering me." Jungkook whined out. It was the first time to hear the youngest being whiny. He was always cool with everything.

"Me too. Why must we wear this anyway?" I pouted and looked at Jungkook. He was the only one who really understood my feelings right now.

"Okay, okay. Chill angry bunnies. Say kimchii."

We turned around to the front just to hear the clicking sound of a Polaroid. Hoseok was the one taking them.

"Yah, Hoseok oppa!" I stomped my foot and was ready to chase after him but Jungkook suddenly pulled me and put his arm around my shoulder. He showed me his bunny smile.

"Okay again. Kimchii." Hoseok was ready to take our picture again. Quickly, I posed a peace sign and show my bunny smile too.

Click!

"Perfect!" Hoseok let the photo slide out and gave it to us. I fanned the photo as it took some time for the picture to show up.

When the picture appeared, Jungkook came closer to take a peek. "Well, it didn't look that bad right?" Jungkook smiled at me as his jet black hair cascaded over his twinkling black eyes.

"Jungkook, you look like a cool bunny but I look like a retarded bunny!" I whined out, but Jungkook just let out a whole-hearted chuckle.

"No. You look cute, noona." He ruffled my hair and smiled at me. I scrunched my nose playfully at him as I could feel myself blushing. Jungkook was really a sweet guy. And it was weird that he treated me like I was younger than him...

"Jungkook-ah, let's go," Taehyung called out from a distant. He was watching us like a hawk, his eyes hooded and speculative. I held his gaze in confusion before he tore his gaze away from mine.

"Hyung, wait up!" Jungkook ran over to Taehyung and immediately gave him a warm back hug. From the distance, I could hear Jungkook teased him. "Are you jealous, hyung?"

Taehyung shook his head and replied. "Of course not, idiot." A small smile formed on his lips as he pulled Jungkook's ear playfully.

I pursed my lips when I was all alone right now. Where the heck are my two best friends? I guessed they had left me and went to try all the rides with the boys. I looked up to see the high octane roller coaster stopped when it turned 360 degrees. A series of scream echoed from the passengers, and I shivered at the thought of being in their place.

All of sudden, Yoongi appeared beside me, offering me an ice cream. "Do you want one?" he asked, his eyes looking at the ride while grimacing.

I nodded and followed him. We walked to the heart of the Lotte World and settled down on a bench near the fountain. It was a nice weather. I enjoyed the ice cream while observing my surroundings.

There was a family happily talking and laughing, a couple trying to take a selfie of them, and a tall dad carrying his daughter on his shoulder while the daughter was holding onto a pink balloon. I couldn't stop smiling when the color of happiness floated all around me.

"Why are you smiling alone? It's creepy." Yoongi looked at me with his judging look, his eyebrows creased.

"Just because. We don't really need a reason to smile, oppa." I simply said and let out a chuckle.

Another reason was that, I did not want to face an awkward situation with Yoongi. It was the second time I talked to him, or maybe the other way around—his second time talking to me.

"You know, Jinhee... I'm glad that you appeared in our life."

I turned to look at him and blinked a few times, surprised at his meaningful words. "Why?"

"Because we got a new toy to play with." Yoongi grinned and amusement flashed in his small eyes.

I gave him a blank stare and looked away. He totally ruined my feelings when I was about to think differently of him. "You're so mean, oppa. Just so you know, I don't plan to be anyone's toy."

Yoongi chuckled and turned his body to face me, his one leg on the bench. "I'm just kidding, Jinhee. Don't take it to the heart, yeah?" He smirked at me before eating another spoonful of his ice cream.

"Geee, thanks for reminding, oppa." I faked a smile. His smirk soon turned into his gummy smile as he laughed seeing my reaction.

"It's fun to tease you like this. The music room has never been so noisy and loud. They're loud before but now even more livelier when you're around." Yoongi smiled at me. Wait. Why did he seem like he's faking that smile?

I tried to think the other way round. "Oppa, you're saying... you have a hard time to sleep now, because of me?"

Yoongi made a few slow claps. "Wow. I'm impressed." He smirked again and I rolled my eyes. "But no, I mean it, Jinhee. I love seeing the boys being cheerful and happy whenever you are around." Yoongi looked at me and this time, he was smiling genuinely.

Suddenly, I felt a boost of confidence in me. "Yeah, you guys should feel privileged because you guys get to hang out with me." I laughed at my own words while Yoongi grimaced again.

"Yeah, a loser who doesn't know how to sing and dance, who loves to nag all the times–"

I cut him off as I shoved my ice cream at his precious nose. It took a whole second for him to react while I had already sprinted off for my life.

"Yah, Kim Jinhee!" Yoongi ran after me.

I couldn't stop laughing as I ran through the crowd while apologizing to the people that I pushed as I ran. I turned to look at Yoongi but I lost him through the crowd.

Instead, I caught a glimpse of a familiar guy. It was Taehyung. He rushed towards me with a worried look. Before I knew, my step became uneven and I tripped, stumbling headlong onto the road.

"Jinhee!" Taehyung cried. He tugged the hand he was holding so hard that I fell back against him.

It all happened so fast. One minute I was falling, the next I was in his arms as he was holding me tightly in his chest.

"Jinhee, are you alright?" He turned me to face him as he observed my expression. He had his one arm around me, clasping me to him, while the fingers of his other hand softly tracing my face, gently probing, examining me.

He was staring into my eyes as I held his anxious, burning gaze for a moment. "Jinhee, answer me." His voice came out breathy.

I was still in awe so I only responded with a nod. Then, he let me stand properly before letting me go. I saw Yoongi running towards us and stopped beside Taehyung as he bent down, panting very hard. I heard him cussed under his breath.

"Yah Jinhee, why did you run so fast? I'm not gonna eat you or anything." He managed to say while trying to catch his breath. Once his breathing slowly got back to normal, he flicked my ear.

"That was dangerous, you brat."

"Ow! What was that for?" I whined as I rubbed my ear while making a face.

"Yoongi hyung is right. You almost tripped and hurt yourself. Geez, what were you thinking?" Taehyung looked at me with his serious face. I wanted to answer back but I couldn't find my voice as he looked at me so intently.

After a moment of hesitation, I said, "I wasn't thinking about anything. It's not my fault that I have a fast reflex. When someone is chasing after me, I should run. Everyone knows that." I had my arm crossed as I looked at the two guys in front me, giving me a disapproved look.

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry, ugly bunny. Wait. I thought you are the one should apologize since you did this." Yoongi said as he pointed at the melted ice cream on top of his nose with a disgusted face.

I looked at his funny expression and laughed out loud. Feeling guilty, I took out my handkerchief and wiped away those sticky ice cream.

"There, done. I can't help it, oppa. You're so mean just now and you called me a loser, which I'm totally not. So I used the only weapon that I have, the ice cream. " I started to ramble and being a denial, yet I smiled cheerfully at him.

"Mean is my personality, I can't help it either." He smiled and patted my head.

"I'll call the others so that we can eat together. Both of you can just wait by the lake." Yoongi fixed his jacket and waved off. For a moment, I forgot that Taehyung was there beside me.

"Let's go." Taehyung walked away and didn't even wait for me. I tried to follow his pace. When he realized that he might have walked too fast, he slowed down and we were now walking side by side in silence.

Another awkward situation.

Yay life.
