Haunted House
We all stood in front of the scary-looking haunted house. It gave the exact aura of repulsion. I felt my hair on my neck stood up and an involuntary shiver run down my spine.
"Taehyung, say something to them..." I frowned and looked at him, pleading for help. But Taehyung just bit his lip as he gave me the troubled look, as if saying he didn't know how to stop the boys too. I sighed in defeat.
"Hold hands! Hold hands!"
I panicked when all of them started to cheer loudly and attracted some people to look at the both of us. I tried to make them stop but they only teased me more. I had never thought I would be in this frustrating situation.
All of a sudden, I felt a warm hand reached mine. I looked up to find Taehyung leading me towards the haunted house. I heard the others cheered and whistled again, but it faded away when we reached inside of the creepy haunted house. I swallowed hard as I wasn't prepared to face all this... My poor heart.
"Are you ready, Jinhee?" Taehyung asked as his voice came out different. I noticed his pupils were silently shaking too.
"Taehyung, are you scared?" I asked him bluntly. He stared at me for a while before looking away.
"I'm not. I just don't like surprises." He scratched his neck awkwardly. I nodded and squeezed his hand, feeling astonished at the sudden burst of confidence in me.
"Let's do this together." I showed a determined face and he nodded back unenthusiastically.
With that, we started our hell journey as we marched over at a quick pace because it was better to just walk and ignore all the creepy-looking ghosts than walk slowly and be reluctant to walk past them.
I was sweating in the darkness. I couldn't even see Taehyung's face at all. All I could hear was only his breathy voice. He suddenly gasped when he saw something white passing by his left side.
"Kamjagiya (That shocked me)." He muttered softly and sighed. I found it funny, but I tried my very best to hold in the laughter anyway. I wouldn't want to be left alone in this darkness, would I?
We walked past a dark alley, feeling cautious of our surroundings. When we almost reached the end of the alley, we sighed in relief when nothing came out. I started to think all the creatures might feel tired as well.
In a spur of a moment, we heard the sound of footsteps running toward us. Feeling a sudden chill from behind, we turned around just to find a mummy holding a knife was chasing after us. Instinctively, we escaped quickly while screaming like a chimp on fire. Yes, I mean we because I swore I heard Taehyung's squeaky voice for a moment there.
We stopped running when the mummy lost us. We were both panting hard as if we had just run a marathon.
"Taehyung, was that your screaming just now?" I asked in between my hard breaths. I could see his expression through the yellow lamp that lightened the particular room. He took a sharp intake of breath before avoiding my gaze again.
"Just pretend that you never heard anything, Jinhee." He said in a serious tone which I found it cute whenever he tried to defend himself. I hid a smile, holding another urge to laugh.
I guessed that was the last one. After seeing a vampire sudden appearance through a mirror, Annabelle sitting on her chair and suddenly speaking to us in creepy tone and the way her head cracked and dropped to the ground, a zombie waking up from underground and followed us in its swaying manner, and a child with scars all over his face running around and touched my shoulder, whispering 'do you want to play hide and clap?', I wondered what was it this time.
"Jinhee, come closer." Taehyung's calm voice suddenly echoed through the room. He took out the Polaroid and I suddenly remembered that we have to take a selfie. Without a care of the eerie surroundings, I showed a smile as if saying we were totally fine.
The photo came out and I took it while looking around the room, trying to find an exit. There was barely anything. Only a bunch of spider's web hanging on the corner of the room and a few tarantula sliding up and down. Those better be fake ones or else I swear I'm going to scream without a care of the world.
I finally took a look at the photo and momentarily froze. I was smiling widely and Taehyung... He was showing his toothy rectangular smile which I had never seen before. I let out a satisfied smile, but my smile vanished the next second when I narrowed my eyes, taking another look at the picture. I noticed a white-hair grandma was sitting at the back, bombing the picture.
Almost immediately, I turned around to look at the same exact place and finally realized the grandma was really sitting there with her back facing us. And all I have ever wondered was... Since when she was there? How long had she been there?
I quickly nudged Taehyung while my other shaky hand laid on my chest, trying to calm myself down. Taehyung stared at me, wondering why I was freaking freezing. He then followed my gaze.
"What is the pitiful grandma doing there? Is she lost or her family abandoned her?" Taehyung asked with his gentle voice.
Like... really Taehyung? How oblivious can you be? He was about to get near to the grandma when I pulled him away quickly.
"Are you crazy? That is one of the trap so that we would pity her, pabo yah!" I practically shouted at him. Taehyung looked at me, dumbfounded.
Suddenly the grandma turned her head in a menacing manner and looked at us. A gasp escaped from my lips faster than I could control myself, and beside me, Taehyung turned to utter mute.
She had no eyes, nose, lips. No eyebrows or whatsoever. Only wrinkles filled her features.
"Do you want to know where is the exit?" She slowly asked in a weak tone.
Of course we do, like right now, immediately.
"Yeah." Taehyung simply answered and gave my hand a squeeze. I swallowed hard, never took my eyes off the grandma.
"Then, could you please open this water bottle for me? I don't have the energy to open it..." She said in the most humble voice. She sounded like my grandma. I would help her if only she had a normal human face but her face was really blank, like a blank crumpled white paper. And now I feel like crying.
I didn't dare to move an inch because that grandma was much creepier than the stupid Annabella. Since I made no move, as a man he was, Taehyung moved forward to help the grandma with her bottle. But, he dragged me along anyway since we cannot pull away from each other.
"Here, grandma. I-I will help you." I guessed Taehyung was having a mutual feeling with me in this horrifying situation. He wasn't this scared with Annabella. He reached for the bottle, trying his best not to touch her hand.
Hastily, Taehyung twisted the bottle cap, and suddenly the door which had been painted the same color as the wall rotated open, revealing the exit sign with night lights entering and brightening the room a little.
I looked at Taehyung with tears of joy and he looked back at me with his stunned face. He gave the bottle back to the grandma. But instead of taking the bottle back, the grandma suddenly yanked his wrist roughly. She opened her mouth wide, wanting to bite his wrist with her sharp fangs.
Despite the shocking view of the grandma, with a sudden fast reflex that kicked in, I pulled Taehyung closer to me so strongly that the grandma broke off from him. Without wasting any time, I scrambled out with Taehyung to the exit door and never looked back.
Once we were far away from the exit door, we stopped again and breathe out an enormous sigh of relief. Well, most of it was from me. I couldn't believe that I made it out alive, still breathing and my heart still beating vigorously.
After felt like forever in the haunted house, I was thoroughly drained. My knees started to feel anemic. I took another step forward just to lose my balance, but someone's strong grip saved me from the falling. Again, Taehyung caught me in time. I let my head rested on his hard chest as his strong arm stayed on my waist to support me.
"Let's find a seat first." His voice vibrated through his chest, sounded so romantic at that moment. He held my hand and assured me to take a seat.
"Jinhee, are you alright?" Taehyung asked, almost whispering. I couldn't utter a word. I was holding the will-come-out-if-someone-start-comforting-me-tears.
"Jinhee-ah..." His soft voice trying to console me. He then cupped my chin to observe my expression. I bet I looked so ugly right now. He let out a warm smile and patted my head, putting my head back against his chest.
"It was so scary..." I had found my voice to speak. Tears started prickling my eyes, running down through my cheeks.
Taehyung didn't say anything but I felt like a child when he kept patting my head ever so gently. More tears formed in my eyes, making his jacket wet. "Shush... I'm here." His calm voice covering the silence of the dark night, sounding like a lullaby.
"Hey, you guys are out!"
I jumped, startled at Jimin's voice as he was approaching us. Instantly, I broke off from the proximity, creating an unwelcome space between me and Taehyung. At the same time, I wiped away my tears quickly, hoping to God that they wouldn't notice my puffy eyes and my red cheeks.
"Jinhee-ah, are you crying?"
Damn Soojung and her sharp eyes.
Everyone turned to look at me, which clearly I had tears shining in the corner of my eyes. My face turned red and my hair was a total mess.
"Aigoo, I'm so sorry to see you like this, Jinhee. Don't cry little bunny, I'm always here for you." Jimin smiled lovingly at me as he gave me a bear hug. I was surprised at first. Jimin being so sweet was the last thing that I could ever imagine. But slowly, I let out a smile as I returned his comfortable hug.
I took a deep breath and let it out. Trying to find the once calm and peaceful Jinhee. I tried to push all the fresh thoughts of the scary images I have had seen. Yeah... I'm calming down.
"Tae hyung and Jinhee noona, here. You guys must feel thirsty."
I broke the hug to face Jungkook, who was offering two cold water bottles towards me and Taehyung. I blinked a few times before looking at Taehyung.
Feeling a sense of déjà vu.

"This is so uncomfortable..." I said in a monotone before someone pushed with a force and my head instantly collided with the wall. "Ouch..."
Apparently, we were all in a medium-sized room of the photo booth, which the capacity was quite small for the amount of ten people. I thought I was in the middle a moment ago, now I found myself situated at the right end of the line, feeling cramped and absolutely torturing for my cheek to keep kissing the wall.
"Don't keep pushing me, yah!" Jin yelled as everyone wouldn't stay still. I couldn't seem to believe that they managed to squeeze so that everyone was able to enter the room.
"The shorties go in front!" Namjoon shouted. Some grimaced at his words. I was already at the front line.
"Jiminieee, come here." I called out and everyone started to laugh. Jimin reluctantly moved to the front line which was beside me before shooting me a death glare. I looped my arm with him and gave him a cheeky smile.
"Okay, let's do this, 10 seconds." Hoseok stood in the middle, controlling and adjusting the light with the button. We all had accessories on, which I had a dollar symbol gold chain and a mustache sticking on my philtrum.
"One, two, three!" Hoseok pressed the button and the sound of the timer could be heard, but then everyone started to move around and I was shoved into the wall again.
But strangely, I didn't feel the hard surface of the wall this time when a hand sneaked up to prevent the collision, and I could also feel someone's hard chest behind me. I turned around and met the dark brown eyes of Taehyung, looking concerned. He was so close that our lips almost touch.
"Yah, who's pushing me?" Soojung's loud shriek echoed through the room and there was a push again.
"Ouch!" I whined in pain when I felt my strand of hair was being pulled. I looked up to find who was pulling my hair. But no. No one was pulling, instead, it had stuck to Taehyung's jacket button.
"Taehyung, my hair!" I frowned at him. His eyes widened in panic for a moment before he tugged me closer so that all the pushing wouldn't pull my hair away.
Oh God, Taehyung was so close... I could even feel his cool breath against my cheek. My heart accelerated at the intimacy as I couldn't control my cheeks from turning bright pink. But what surprised me even more was that...
I could feel his heart beating wildly too.
