Chapter 1: First Day of College
"Feel like the world don't love you? They only wanna push you away--" You groggily sat up from bed as you turned off your alarm. "Okay, you can shut up now." You grumpily said as you yawned and stretched.
You grabbed your phone and put it into your pocket before sleepily crawling out of bed and into the kitchen on all fours.
Finally getting up from off the ground, you opened up the refrigerator and pull out a sandwich you made from last night.
Placing the sandwich onto a plate, you bring it over to the dining table where you plop down onto your chair and began to eat. Taking a big bite of the sandwich, you turn on the TV and begin watching the news. Soon after, your phone began to vibrate while playing a set ring tone for a certain someone.
"Uptown! Downtown! All around the world were gonna jump now, jump now! Everybody come because we need, more, hardcore! Mayday, mayday, ravers in the UK!"
"Yo, what's up, Iggybrows?" You greeted the British blonde as you could hear him grumbling about not wanting to be called Iggybrows on the other end of the line.
"Love, please do not call me, 'Iggybrows'. I would greatly prefer you call me Arthur. Now, I just wanted to call so I know where you are." Arthur said in a gruff tone.
"Uuuh, why...?" You asked, confused by what he was saying. You could hear Arthur sigh as he face-palmed. "Because today's the first day of class, of course." He stated as you began to choke on air. "What!? Class is today!?" You screeched as Arthur rubbed his ear.
"Why, yes it is, love. We were just touring around the campus yesterday since today is your first day, remember?" Arthur asked as you face-palmed. "No... No, I don't remember... I think i forgot..." You quietly said as face-palmed the table. "Well, you better hurry up and get ready, because your first class starts in 40 minutes."
"Oh shit-" You said as you shoved the rest of your sandwich into your mouth. "Good luck, love. See you when you get here." Arthur said as you thanked him with a full mouth. You ended the call as you finished eating the sandwich and ran into the bathroom.
You stripped your entire body of clothes as you turned on the shower head and jumped in. You shrieked from how cold the water was, but decided to bare with it.
After taking the 10-minute shower, you wrapped your towel around your drenched body and ran into your room where you quickly picked a pair of white skinny jeans, a tan long-sleeved shirt, and a dark green survey corps jacket, and put it on. You shoved your socks and black converse on as you grabbed your black Jansport backpack already prepared with a binder, notebook, pens, pencils, and highlighters just in case.
You stared at your watch as you only had 26 minutes left to get to class.
In a flash, you turned off your TV and grabbed your keys, wallet, and phone. You raced over to the door and walked out of your apartment, locking the door before running out. Only to remember that your car was still at the auto repair store. "Damn teenagers..." You grumbled under your breath as you looked at you watch. '12 minutes left 'till class starts..'
"Fuck!" You yelled out into the open morning air. You looked around the area again before spotting a skateboard. Quickly you walked over to it and picked it up. "Crap, I haven't rode on one of these in forever... Let's hope I'm still good at this..." You prayed before dropping the skateboard on the ground and standing on it.
You placed a foot on the hard ground before pushing forward, mentally praying that you'll make it. And before you knew it, you were pushing through and riding the skateboard with ease. Filled with joy, you pushed off against the ground again and again, going faster and faster.
Within 5 minutes, you had managed to make it to your college with no problems.
With 7 minutes left to spare, you got off the skateboard, picked it up, and ran over to where the entrance was. "Oh my god, I can't believe I still have time." You muttered in disbelief as you sent Arthur a text of where you are.
In just a matter of mere seconds, Arthur appeared. Speeding over towards you as he held a cup of coffee from Starbucks. "There you are, love! I was starting to think you weren't gonna make it in time." He said in relief as he took another sip from his coffee. You sent him a small frown as he looked back at you.
"Anyway, hand me your schedule, I need to see where your classes are." Arthur quickly said as he held out his hand. You began to mumble random things as you fumbled around in your bag looking for the piece of paper. "Hurry now, you don't want to be late." Arthur stated as you grumbled out, "I know, just give me a second.."
Releasing a sigh of relief, you finally found that damn piece of paper. Quickly, you placed it in Arthur's hand.
Arthur brought the paper up to his face as he studied it. He clicked his tongue in recognition before looking back up at you. "You're lucky your classroom is just in that building over there," He said, pointing to a 3-story building just a couple of yards away. "Come, I'll take you there."
"Oh, thank the gods above!" You exasperatedly said as you allowed Arthur to grab your hand tightly and quickly drag you to your class room.
~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~=~
To say the classroom was big would be an understatement. It was huge! It was nothing like you've seen before.
"Holy shit! This classroom is fucking huge!" You quietly yelled to Arthur as he sighed at your childishness. "Yes, of course it is. Now, I'll see you later, love." Arthur said as he stared down at his watch. Happily, you turned to him and gave him a hug, catching the Brit off guard. "Thanks, Artie!" You quietly squealed.
A bright red blush formed on his pale cheeks as he stared down at your figure. Being the big tsundere he was, he grumbled a "No problem" and gently pried you off of him.
"Now go find a place to sit. You only have a minute left before the teacher comes in." Arthur stated, a slight blush still evident on his cheeks, but you simply brushed it off. "Alright, Iggy!" You quietly chirped before shoving him out the door and walking down the steps to find a seat.
Quickly contemplating on where to sit, you settled yourself down to a girl around your age with jet black hair and onyx eyes that held a mischievous glint to them.
She had two long strands of hair at the front that reached to where here chest began while the rest of her hair was cut at chin-length. She had uneven bangs; with her left eye being entirely covered by her bangs while her other eye was left uncovered.
She wore a blue hoodie that had a sky blue star in the middle. She wore a black and red plaid skirt above black leggings. To top it all off, she wore tan boots that ended slightly above her ankles.
She had a very small build, making her look like she belonged in high school instead of college.
"Hey, do you mind if I sit here?" You asked, a small smile on your lips. "Of course not. I don't see anyone else sittin' here." She answered with a small smile of her own. "Thanks." You said, your smile widening. "No prob." She coolly stated before turning back to the board with a lazy smile on her lips.
"Good morning class." A man with chin-length blonde hair greeted the class.
"Good morning." The class greeted back. (Y/N) leaned in, interested in the subject she was to learn today.
"My name is Vash Swingli and I will be teaching you all about politics and the economy." The class nodded as he wrote his name on the board.
"I'm pretty sure you're all familiar with the government and finances, yes?" He asked the class as he placed the whiteboard marker down.
Everyone in the class nodded as you began to stare off into space. Not even 5 minutes in class and you were already zoning out.
Mr. Swingli noticed this and was pissed off that a student of his wasn't paying attention to his lesson. Especially since it was the first day.
"Ms. (L/N)!" He called out your name as he slammed his fist on his desk. Startled, you jumped in your seat as everyone's gazes were all on you. "What's 148×26?" He asked as you nervously gulped.
'Well shit...'
"Uh, 3,848?" You answered, unsure if whether it was right or not.
"That is correct, Ms. (L/N), but we aren't in math class." Mr. Swingli stated as you could hear a couple of people quietly giggle at you. You felt your face burn slightly as looked down at your lap.
Mr. Swingli sighed. "Since it's only the first day, I'll let you off this time. But next time, there will be consequences. Understood, Ms. (L/N)?"
"U-Understood, sir..." You stuttered out, your cheeks ablaze.
"Very well. As I was saying..." Mr. Swingli went back to the lesson as you let out a small breath you didn't realize you were holding in. 'Oh, fuck me....'
Well, it couldn't get any worse than this, right?
