Welcome To Asgard

We all sat down and quickly realized someone had to explain the game to Thor as he never played before. Clint explained most of everything and I offered to help Thor play. We sat together on the couch, Nat and Clint together on the other, and Steve in a chair pulled over from the table. As we started playing and the mood lightened quickly which was a breath of relief.

Thor was a warrior. So he was very used to winning. His focus was mostly in the game. But he kept glancing over at me every now and again. We would catch each other eyes and quickly look away. Smiling as we did.

"So are you two dating now or what?" Clint smirked. Nat smacked him again.

"Yes."

"No."

We both said together. We looked at each other with the same confused expressions. I don't remember him ever asking me to be his girlfriend, or even on a date for that matter. So I'm pretty sure that disqualify's you from being considered a couple.
As we were about to argue again the elevator door dinged.

"Oh, hey guys, having a game night again are we?" Tony walked into the room holding some mail in his hands. "Wow, welcome back Point Break."

"Stark, it's great to see you." Thor walked over shaking hand's with him.

"Hey, Tony." I walked towards him. He gave me one of those weird shoulder hugs. "I need to talk to you."

"Sure thing, kid." We walked to the dining table and sat down. I invited the others to join us as well.

"I wanted to tell you all, that i've decided to go with Thor to Asgard." I looked around the table too see all the different expressions.

"Whoa, hang on just a minute. For how long?" Tony looked at me raising an eyebrow.

"I'm not really sure. Not forever though." I caught a sigh of relief from Tony. "Thor knows who my Uncle is and has agreed to take me to meet him."

"Well, thats a good thing isn't it?" Clint asked.

"Of course. I mean no one could compare to my two earthly father's." I flashed a smile at Tony teasing him. "But he's still family and I would like to meet him, find out where I came from, and maybe get answer's to the many unanswered questions I have."

"I think that's a great idea. It's a way to find out everything you've ever wanted to know." Steve spoke up.

"I agree too. It would be better for you to know everything you can. We will certainly miss you. I know, I will." Nat stood up and walked over to me to give me a hug. "Bring me back a souvenir, would ya?" She joked as she hugged me.

"You got it. I won't be gone for to long though I hope." I smiled at her.

"I mean, your birthday is next month. Are you really sure you want to go?" Tony looked at me with big sad eyes.

"I'll be back before then. I need to know where I came from. I promise you, I will return." I held my arms out stretched wide. Tony got up from his chair and engulfed me into a hug.

"Fine, I'll be here waiting. Don't be gone for to long though. And you." Tony looked at Thor. "You better not hurt her, keep her safe." I rolled my eyes and squeezed Tony a little harder.

"I give you my word, Stark. I will protect her with my life." Thor smiled at me. "Are you ready to go?" I pulled away from Tony and nodded.

I walked towards Thor, but realized I needed something from my room. I ran up the stairs, and entered my room. I walked over to the cork board I had on my wall and grabbed a set of photo booth pictures of me and my dad. I wanted to have a little piece of him with me in Asgard. I returned down the stairs and walked over to the door where Thor was waiting. I hugged Clint and Steve on my way out. We stood on the balcony and Thor grabbed my waist pulling me towards him.

"You're first Bifrost experience might make you a tad sick. So hold tightly to me. Okay?" He pushed a piece of my hair back behind my ear and out of my face.

"Okay." I held tightly around his neck as he held me tightly to him. He raised his hammer in the air.

"Heimdall, open the Bifrost!" Thor yelled, as I closed my eyes shutting them tightly.

There was a sudden burst of energy that surrounded us. I didn't feel anything under my feet anymore, I gripped tighter onto Thor. He let out a hearty laugh.

"It's okay Amara, I've got you. You can open your eyes." Thor whispered to me.

I slowly opened them to see a beautiful site in front of me. It was like a rainbow tunnel that surrounded us. In an instant it was gone and we were inside a large domed room. It was completely gold and beautiful.

"Wow." I breathed.

"Breathtaking isn't it?" Thor said. "Wait until you see Asgard." He grinned at me. I looked at the gorgeous ceiling and went to step forward, but my legs were feeling pretty much like jelly. I thought I was going to fall but, Thor caught me. "There's someone I'd like you to meet."

He turned us around to see a large circle in the middle of the floor with two steps. In the center was a large sword pushed into some type of mechanical power source and a dark, tall man wearing golden armor, holding onto that sword. His eyes were a beautiful shade of golden yellow. "This is Heimdall. Gate keeper for the Bifrost on Asgard. Amara, I'd like to introduce you to your Uncle."

The man named Heimdall and I both stared at each other, neither of us saying a word. Thor sensed the weirdness in the room and walked me closer to him. Breaking us both out of our trance.

"Hello, Heimdall. I'm, Amara. Although, I guess you already knew that." I said as I internally cursed my awkward nature.

"I have looked forward to this particular moment in time, for many centuries. I have watched you grow during your time on Midgard, so I feel as though I already know you. But I understand that you are not aware of me or your past." He said sweetly in his deep voice.

"Sorry, I know Thor has said it before too, but what exactly is Midgard?" I looked between the two of them.

"Oh. Midgard is a part of the nine realm's, it is what we refer it to, but your people know it as Earth." Thor spoke softly to me. He released my arms and I walked forward a bit nervously.

"So, you watched me from here?... Watched me how exactly?" I asked curiously.

"I am the keeper of the Bifrost for my extraordinary power of site and hearing. I see and hear everything that happens across the nine realms. I watch over for threats against Asgard and the other realms." He explained.

"Okay, why was I sent to earth? Why didn't I grow up here with you or my parent's?" I needed to know the most important question, I'd wanted to know my entire life. I knew I just met him, but I really wanted to know.

"You were born during a dark time and transition throughout Asgard. Magical abilities like your's were considered a threat to the throne. Your mother and father had no choice but, to send you away to protect you from execution. I chose Midgard for you, because I had seen how safe the planet was. I knew you and your abilities would be safe from harm. I chose Phil Coulson to look over you because I could see the goodness of his heart."

"Wait, you chose him for me?" I looked at him in utter shock.

"Yes. I have been guiding you as best as I could, your entire life." Heimdall said and I took a deep breath of understanding.

"So the voice in my head... That's been you? You've literally been with me the entire time and I had no idea." I could have cried from the overwhelming amount of happiness I felt. " Wait... How come no one ever came back to get me?" I asked. Thor walked beside me and his hand brushed against mine. As if trying to let me know that he was here if I needed him.

"As I said before when you were born, time's were dark. By the time the realms had settled and Asgard became a prosperous land once again. You were happy and content in your life. I didn't want to tear you away from the only life you could remember. That would have been selfish of me. I knew that one day you would discover your lineage and return home. So I waited. And here you are now." He took a few steps towards me.
"Well that's a way better answer than I could have ever dreamed of." I chuckled awkwardly and hesitated for a moment. "Uhm, would it be okay to hug you?" I asked. I felt as though a piece of me had known him for my whole life. Which in a way I suppose I did.

"Of course. Welcome home, Amara." He stepped in front of me and carefully wrapped his arms around me and squeezed lightly.

We both took rather large deep breath's. Almost as if we'd been holding our breath's for far to long. His arms felt safe. It reminded me of my dad. I started to cry as we just stood there, hugging, waiting for them to stop. Thor had put his hand on Heimdall's shoulder, he looked so proud at the reunion in front of him.

"Wait, what happened to my mother and father? Are they here?" I asked as I pulled away and asked him. He took my hand and pulled me to some seats in the corner of the dome.

"When we sent you to Midgard. It broke your mother's heart. Bree adored you in more way's than you'll ever know. She became sick shortly after and she passed on. She loved you very, very much. As for your father he was my half brother. Named Ethandrial. He was a brave a valiant warrior for the crown. He was killed in battle." Heimdall explained sadly and I looked down to the floor.

"I wish I could just remember their face's. How old was I when you had to send me away?" I looked up at him.

"You were around 300 year's old." He stated simply and I looked at him with my mouth open.

"W-what? That's not even possible. Is it? I'm almost 19!" I freaked out looking between Thor and Heimdall. Thor grabbed my hand as sat in the seat next to me and he looked into my eyes.

"There's much for you to learn. Time between the realm's works differently. In Asgardian time you were 300. Earth time you looked like you were about 4. We are a very advanced species. That's also why while I was here before I came back to see you. It didn't seem as long as it did for me as it did for you on earth."

"Okay, well then how old am I really, now?" I raised an eyebrow looking between them both.

"You are 1,200 year's old." Heimdall stated.

"Wow. That's crazy." I breathed. "How old are you, Thor?"

"1,202." He beamed proudly.

"My head feel's like it could explode. This is a lot of new information." I leaned back and put my hand on my forehead.

"Would you like to go rest? I can show you to your chambers." Thor stood up and held a hand out to me. I looked up at him and grabbed it. He pulled me to my feet and I turned around and looked at Heimdall.

"It was very nice to meet you, Heimdall. I hope to get to know you better. Thank you for everything so far." He nodded and smiled back at me. I could hear his voice inside my head.

"It was my deepest honor and pleasure to see you again."

I smiled back at him as Thor and I walked out of the large dome. Thor covered my eyes with his hands for a moment.

"My dearest, Amara. Welcome to Asgard." He moved his hands from my eyes and the site before me was truly breathtaking just as he said it would be.

A large golden city laid out in front of me. I looked down to my feet as saw we were standing on a rainbow colored bridge which connected the Bifrost to the city. The prominently large building in the middle must have been the palace.

"Thor, it's... beautiful." I breathed out and he squeezed my hand after lacing his fingers with mine.

"That large building there is my home. Where I grew up." He whispered into my ear pointing to the palace. "That's where I'm taking you. Hold tight to me." He pulled my waist into his once again and swung his hammer sending us off towards the palace. I was certainly getting used to him holding me like this.

"What happened here?" I asked a little surprised as we landed. The floors were covered in rubble and dust. Parts of the palace destroyed and broken.

"That was one of the things that happened while you waited for me." Thor's usual happy grinning face turned solemn. "The dark elves attacked us because they wanted the Aether that was stuck inside Jane. They killed my mother that day." I could see a tear fall from one of Thor's eyes.

"Oh, Thor. I'm so sorry you lost your mother." I wrapped my arms around him. We were more alike than I originally thought. Losing a parent was not easy, specially if you were close.
"Thank you, Amara. You're very kind. Just like my mother. She was a wonderful person and she would have liked to see you again very much. She would have loved you."

I pulled away and Thor led me around the rubble to a staircase that took us up to the sleeping area's of the palace. He opened up one of the doors to a gorgeous room. The ceiling was beautifully painted, a large California king sized bed in the middle of the room, a deep shade of red curtain's tied to the poles surrounding the bed and the same color curtains along the windows.

"This is your room. I had the maids set it up before I left, so you could have somewhere comfortable to sleep." Thor leaned against the door arms crossed watching me admire the room.

"Wow, this is amazing. I know I keep saying that. But seriously. It's amazing." I touched the bed, running my fingers across the blankets. They were as soft as the finest silk you could imagine. "Where is your room?" I suddenly thought to ask. Thor chuckled.

"My room is right next door to this one. I won't be far." He winked at me, making me blush. "Oh, before I forget, your closet is set with clothing for you to wear while you are here. You'll need to pick something out to wear tonight."

"Why what's tonight?" I looked at him curiously.

"A celebration of sort's. We have large, grand parties quite often. Especially when we have a guest." Thor grinned.

"It's for me?!" I squeaked.

"My lovely, Amara. You're so adorable. Yes, it's to welcome you home. Now you can get ready, I will be back in an hour to collect you." He had walked over to me and kissed my hand and promptly left the room.

I crashed backwards onto the bed and closed my eyes for a moment to take in everything that had already happened today. After taking a moment to collect myself and my thoughts, I walked over to the closet and peered inside. It was a large walk in room filled with clothing, shoes and jewelry. A lot of the dresses were big and poofy, nothing that seemed to fit my style. But that's when my eyes landed on a navy blue dress hiding in between the others. I pulled it out and looked at it. It was absolutely gorgeous.

The dress ran down to the floor as I put it on, a couple of thin layers in the bottom, it was cinched just above the waist and the sleeves were three quarter length with lace. I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked beautiful. I wasn't sure what to do with my hair so I left it down. My brown hair just waved lightly, flowing down past my shoulders. The top of the neckline of the dress was round, I wore the same necklace I had put on earlier that day from my father.

There was a knock at my door.

"Lady Amara, Prince Thor asked me to check and see if you were ready or if you needed any help." A small, petite woman, a maid walked through the door. She bowed to me and I did so in return. "You look beautiful, Miss."

"Thank you. What is your name?"

"Serena, my lady." She bowed again. I giggled.

"You don't have to do that. You can just call me, Amara." I nodded at her and she looked at me for a moment and then smiled.

"Prince Thor, is waiting for you down the stairs Lady... I mean, Amara."

"Can you show me the way?" I asked curiously.

"Of course." She nodded and happily led me back to the stairs and down them.
