49|Overthinker
It doesn't matter what they think?
Yeah right, tell that to an overthinking brain
Then watch it go down as it sinks
Being pulled in by some invisible chains
They're strong and they're persistent
They'll drag you through the depths of hell
Only to drop you back where you started; consistent
As you wallow and bury yourself deeper into your shell
No mercy they know, but they know your weaknesses
They'll trigger them whole till you are a mess
It's a spiral that makes you hate your uniqueness
To a point where you lose it in order to please and impress 'em.
But what good is that if you're losing what makes you, you
When they're all so fake, no reality, all show?
Why give a shit to those opinions you never wanted?
Why not trash them, burn them for good measure; grow?
It's easier said than done, but can't we at least try?
Learn that it's okay if we fail even if they gossip and mockingly smile?
At one point you will give up and lose some battles in this world
But at the end of every one you will have something new to learn
You dictate how the world perceives you so make sure it's something nice
No damage is irreparable; you just need some time, energy, and will: an appropriate price
In the meanwhile keep your chin up, you deserve each breath you take and more
If you don't repeat the same mistakes, you can make your future better than before
It takes a lot of courage, but it's all worth it in the end
A leap of faith can make a world of difference, my friend.
