Part 4

Third Person POV

Flashback

Aspen sat at the end of her bed, her arms wrapped around her waist. She wondered the same thing as all the children who lived in the foster home with her...

Why would my parents give me away?

She didn't understand why she wasn't good enough for them, why they left her. She just wanted a family. She wanted, she craved love merely because she had never felt it. Aspen was 6 years old and had never had a family.

Until one day that all changed...

"Aspen, someone is here to meet you." Amy, the owner of the foster home said, opening Aspen's door. The little girls head shot up abruptly. She smoothed down her t-shirt as she jumped off her bed and followed Amy into her office.

There, sat a woman with a baby in her arms. She was quite beautiful to Aspen. Her short brown hair, kind brown eyes, and a warm smile crossed her features when Aspen entered the room.

"Aspen." Said Amy. "This is Regina Mills. She's going to adopt you." Regina placed her baby boy down in his carrier and kneeled down to Aspen's petite height.

"You gonna be my mommy?" Aspen asked, smiling wider than she thought was possible. Regina laughed slightly, her brown orbs sparkling with tears.

"Yes dear! And you'll even have a brother. His name is Henry." She smiled. Aspen gasped, looking over Regina's shoulder at her new baby brother. Without thinking, she jumped into Regina's arms.

"I knew someone loved me." Aspen whispered. Her words broke Regina's heart and she whispered back,

"I always will."

Flashback over

Regina's face was stained with tears, her fists clenched as Aspen disappeared in the arms of a demented boy. The Queen sunk to her knees, gripping the dirt where her daughter previously stood. She kneeled there, replaying her daughters bravery in her mind.

"We will get her back." Snow said from behind Regina, making her blood boil with hatred. This time her anger wasn't directed at Snow, nor at the savior. It was Pan.

"He looked like he was going to kill her. He was furious." She mumbled, horrifyingly quiet considering how angry she was. Emma and her mother exchanged sorrowful glances. Regina's only daughter risked her life to find her family, not to save herself. To save Henry.

"Regina, we are going to get our kids back." Emma said, kneeling down next to Regina.

"Whatever keeps you sappy hero's going." The sarcastic voice behind the three was enough for every sort of weapon to be drawn. Pan stood leaning against a tree, his arms crossed over his chest as he smirked.

In a furious rage, Regina rose from the ground, using every bit of force possible to keep to teenager pinned to the tree. Pan's smirk grew, knowing her next move before she even acted.

"You won't give me my kids back. How about I make you?" She snapped, shoving her hand into Pans chest. Regina's eyes were practically glowing with hate as she reached for his heart. Her eyebrows furrowed, her eyes looking down at his chest before meeting his eyes once more.

He had no heart...

Pan was not in any type of pain. He merely chuckled, flicking his wrist and Regina flew backwards. She landed on her stomach, gasping for air. Snow ran to her aid while Emma kept her eyes on Pan, her cutlass aimed at his throat. Pan let out chuckle, strutting around their campsite without fear.

"I thought I told you, Madam Mayor, I have no heart." He snarled, looking down at Regina. A thought came to his mind, a smirk came to his face as he shoved his hand into Snow Whites chest.

Emma screamed, running towards them, but with a single motion, Pan sent her flying backwards. Vines from a nearby tree wrapped around her, securing her in place. The boy pulled out her red beating heart, observing it and smirking down at Regina who was finally able to get off the ground.

"You see, your majesty." He seethed. "I am perfectly capable and perfectly willing to rip out a heart, to crush it." Pan chuckled, squeezing the heart as he watched Regina hold out her hand as if to stop him.

"You know, I'm sure Aspen has a pure red heart just waiting for me to crush." Pan snarled, shoving Snows heart back and releasing Emma. She ran to Snow, who recovered quickly, yet was more then terrified.

"If you lay a hand on her, I will kill you!" Regina threatened. Pan burst with laughter, appearing to be a mad man, well madder then he already was.

"That is if you can figure out how." Regina closed her mouth before she could say something that would make things worse for Aspen.

"Now then, I give you my word that I won't kill her. I promise her life will be-"

"I don't believe anything you say, not for a second!" Emma and Snow returned by Regina's side, though the hands they held their weapons with were shaking.

"Now listen here, Queenie. I may be ruthless, heartless, a bloody demon, whatever you wish to call me, but I always make good on my promises. I'm a man, well, boy of my word." He said, humoring himself. He took several steps closer to the three until he was nose to nose with The Evil Queen, both refusing to back down.

"I won't kill her, but a fate worse then death is completely acceptable." Regina's eyes widened as she watched Pan turn on his heel, walking away into the dark jungle.

"Pan! I'll-"

"You'll what? Kill me?! Didn't I just say you couldn't do that?! Besides she is already on her way!" He yelled back, not once turning around. Regina ran after him, though she could hardly catch up.

"On her way where?!" She growled, spinning the demon around by his shoulder. His iconic smirk was glued to his lips, his eyes darker then usual.

"If I told you, it would ruin all the fun." Pan replied mysteriously. "Now do excuse me. I have a prisoner to torment." He seethed, giving Regina a look that was screaming, "try to stop me, and your daughter gets it."
He blinked out of the campsite, leaving the three stunned.

"Regina." Emma said after a few second of silence.

"What?" She whispered, her mind overflowing with worry of her children. Her son may have lost all hope, her daughter may be being tortured. She was terrified.

"Look." Emma said, breaking her away from her thoughts. Regina spun around, her eyes landing on what the savior was pointing to. They all three hustled to the spot, Regina gasped at the sight.

Aspens bracelet.

Regina gave it to her on her first birthday of being a Mills. She never took it off, she never would. Regina knew how clever her daughter was, she knew this was no accident.

"She dropped it on purpose. We can cast a locater spell!" She cried, cheering as she shook the very excited savior.

"See, Regina?" Snow said. "We are going to save this family."

Aspen woke up in a fright. She jolted around, only to be squeezed in return. Her eyes adjusted to the light of the forest, the blur around her pupils reducing. Her instincts hit her all at once as she realized what was happening.

She tried moving her hands, she felt irons. She tried to kick her feet, there were chains. She tried to scream, she felt a gag.

"Stop moving before I knock you out again." A voice snapped, Felix. She was thrown over his shoulder like a rag doll as they trudged through the dense forest. She lifted her gaze from the dirt, seeing lost boys surrounding them as they walked. Directly behind her walked the demon himself, Pan.
He smirked at her, waving his hand to taunt her. Aspen slowly looked back down, fear overtaking her as she felt his eyes on her even after she looked away.

They came to the top of a cliff where she was set down, struggling to sit up properly. Felix laughed cruelly, yanking her to her feet by her hair. She yelled in pain though it was muffled. The entire group chuckled at her, making snarky or sexist comment that made her blood boil.

"Now then, dear." Pan said, motioning for the boys to clear a path. She was forced along, closer and closer to Pan.

"Do you remember what this is?" He asked her, motioning to the toxic plant behind him. Her brown eyes widened as she tried to get free from Felix. The boys once again laughed at her as she cried out for help.

"Ah so you do." Pan chuckled, heartlessly shoving the girl to her knees. He grabbed her jaw, pulling her forward despite her bound wrists and ankles. His hateful green eyes locked with her fear filled brown ones.

"Lets see if I can kill you from the inside out."
