The gentle lake breeze blows softly through my raven hair, waking me up from my nap.

Yawning, I rub my eyes and stretch.

A strand of golden hair blowing at the side of my cheek from the breeze makes me notice...

There she was, sleeping peacefully, resting her head on my shoulder.

I notice a worrifree smile on her face as she sleeps away her fears and stresses.

 I smile and poke her cheek softly.

"Serena... wake up Serena-"

She drowsily opens her eyes and lifts her head from my shoulder.

She dazedly gazes at me with a speck of drool on the corner of her cheek.

I chuckle softly and pat her head.

"Nap time's over, your majesty~ Sleep well?" I ask, getting back up to my feet.

Her face heats up a gentle shade of red, and a small frown appears on her face.

"..." Serena remains silent as I stretch.

"...What's wrong?" I kneel back down so that we were eye-level.

Silence takes over before her suddenly dull cerulean eyes met mine.

"In my dream, we were walking on a bridge... and.... you..." She suddenly chokes on a sob mid-sentence.

"I... what?"

Her lip suddenly trembles and a rogue tear runs down her cheek.

"Serena, please... tell me what's wrong." I plead.

Her watery eyes gaze back up at me.

"...You jumped off the bridge and k-killed yourself in the process of doing so," She said, a tear going down her cheek.

My heart suddenly skips a beat as her cerulean eyes lock onto mine.

What am I feelng..? Why am I feeling this?

Dumb hormones.

Now's not the time.

Serena suddenly jumps forward, ambushing me in yet another tight hug.

"Serena, I'm here, don't worry. Everything will be okay,"

As I say that, I see a shadow approach us.

Grace, Serena's mother comes to a halt with her plate of fruit as she sees us in an embrace.

I smile sheepishly at her, realizing that Serena still hasn't realized as her face was still buried in my chest.

She slowly places the plate of fruit on the grass along with a note, and backs away.

As the Kalos Queen turns her back on us, she gives me a wink before heading off.

My cheeks suddenly warm up, and I immediately get flustered.

Why is my heart suddenly racing?

Am I sick?

I realize that Serena has gone silent, and I look down to meet another flustered face.

"My uh... mother was behind us, wasn't she..?"

"Y-Yeah..." I laugh nervously, scratching the back of my head.

She releases me from her hug and gets back on her feet.

As we eat the peaches and strawberries, I pick up the quickly-written note and and scan through it.

I'm actually kind of relieved now that we won't be having a formal dinner together.

But that Kobe Beef sure sounds amazing.

Mmmmm. I can almost taste it.

We ended up going straight to the dining hall because both us were already pretty hungry.

As we sat down and began to eat the beef special, I was amazed.

It was so tender it almost melted inside my mouth.

I almost didn't even need to chew it at all.

Just an explosion of flavors that any steak-lover would die for.

As we finish off dinner with sweets and ice cream, I hear a familiar voice come from the large kitchen.

"Hello, Serena!"

"Hiiii Mr. Harrison~!" The princess says with a cheerful smile, gazing at the familiar figure walking towards our table. 

"How many times have I told you, call me Brock!" He says, rubbing her head.

"Oww, okay, okay Brock! You're messing up my hair!!" She yells, cracking up the both of us.

"WAIT! Ash?! You're eating dinner with Serena?!" He asks, clearly surprised.

"Yeah, why?"

"I didn't know you two were a thing! I'm so proud of you, Serena!" He says, wiping off an invisible tear.

Wait, what..?

Her face suddenly flares a dark shade of red.

"W-We're n-not a t-thing! I-It's not w-what y-you think it i-is!!!" She waves her hands in embarrassment, her face getting redder.

"Are you sureeee?" Brock teases, making her even more flustered.

I think I see what's going on here now, hehe.

It's my turn now-

"Mhm, we are eating dinner together, so you can't deny it either, Serenaaaa~" I tease, going along with Brock's joke.

"Ughhhh! You two are going to be the death of me, I swear!" She yells, covering her tomato-red face, causing us two to laugh.

As we laugh, Brock starts to wheeze, cracking me up even more and making Serena start to join in.

It was one of the funniest sounds I've ever heard in my life.

Actually, scratch that.

It IS the funniest sound I've ever heard.

It wasn't long before I fell off my chair and started to roll on the ground from so much laughter that I couldn't even breathe.

Brock somehow even fainted.

I'm guessing it was because he couldn't breathe enough from laughing and wheezing so hard.

After I checked to see that he was fine, I heard more of Serena's joy-filled laughter.

She accidentally kicks my bowl of ice cream, knocking it off the table and directly onto my head.

As she realizes what she'd just done, she bursts into another wave of laughter as I take the bowl of freezing cold treats off my head.

"Why you!"

I take a cupcake and throw it at her, covering her face in whipped cream and sprinkles.

Now it was my turn to laugh.

I was interrupted mid-chuckle by a blueberry tart to the head, covering half my face in blue, followed by another one of her joyous laughs.

We continued to go back and forth before Serena managed to slip on some ice cream on the floor, falling onto me and knocking us both down.

I slowly rub the back of my head after I hit the ground, and slowly notice a sudden weight on top of me.

As I open my eyes, I gaze upon a pair of flustered cerulean eyes an inch away from my face.

Serena had fallen on top of me as we fell, and now our faces were less than an inch away from each other.

My cheeks began to warm up along with her's.

After a few seconds, we almost instinctively moved in closer to close the gap between our lips.
