The End of A Semester

The Thronecoming Dance was finally here. As students took their time to look fairest, you sat in your room. You stared at the rose you got Briar and began to think about how quickly the semester had passed by.

You already had your new classes and you only had one day to finish your General Villainy Thronework, but you didn't care about any of that right now. You had already decided to enjoy the night.

You've earned it.

You got up and walked over to your mirror. You adjusted your vest before you began to mess with your hair.

You were wearing a black tux with a green vest, bow tie, and cuffs. Silver lined the collar and the you wore an Ozzian pin on the knot of your bowtie. Your hair was also styled to look better for the dance.

However, as you looked into the mirror, you noticed something odd. You blinked, but it didn't look right.

You didn't wear a tux. You wore a grey school uniform with an unfamiliar school emblem. Your eyes looked more bloodshot than usual with bags. And, to top it all off, your room looked different. More grey and plain.

You rubbed your eyes and looked again, but everything had gone back to normal.

Y/N: Huh. That was weird.

Hunter: Y/N!

You looked over to your door. You opened it and found Hunter and Dexter standing there with Daring chatting with Hopper.

Hunter: Let's get going before the girls get there.

Y/N: Yeah. Oh! One sec.

You ran back into your room to grab Briar's rose. You returned to the others and closed your door. As you did, Dexter noticed you weren't wearing your ring. He figured you just didn't want to lose it.

Hopper: I'm surpised you're even going. I thought you always skipped out on parties.

You shrugged.

Y/N: Tonight is special.

Indeed it was.
-----------
The Grimmnasium was full of students already enjoying the party. Fairies catered the food, the lunchlady provided said food, pictures were being taken, the boy's were showing off the trophy they had gotten thanks to Cerise.

Everything, to quote Blondie, was just right.

You felt like things were finally back to a normal swing for the first in.....a while. Man, has it really only been a semester?

Your thoughts were interrupted when the doors opened. Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched as the girls entered the Grimmnasium in their Thronecoming dresses. They looked absolutely stunning.

But the one who caught your eye was Briar. Your date for the night.

Y/N: Wow.

Briar: Hey.

Y/N: I would hug you, but I think your dress might stab me.

Briar rolled her eyes and hugged you anyway. No pain or poking was had.

Briar: They're fake.

Y/N: Nice.

She pulled away and you happened to catch a glimpse of Lizzie in the crowd. She looked over to you and you waved with a smile. She waved back, but she seemed a bit saddened.

Briar: Looks like Headmaster Grimm is going to start his speech.

You walked with Briar and joined the entire school as Milton took the stage.

Mr. Grimm: Welcome, everyone...

The mic feedback echoed which made everyone cover their ears. Humphrey quickly fixed it and gave him a thumbs up.

Mr. Grimm: To Ever After High's Thronecoming dance!

Everyone began to cheer as the curtains dropped to show some of the stain glass portraits from Heritage Hall.

Mr. Grimm: The School tradition where we spellebrate our stories and those who came before us.

Everyone smiled as the music started up. Everyone began to dance, even you and Briar. But, in the crowd, Cerise watched. She felt a turning pain in her stomach before she went off to stand by herself for a moment.

However, that moment would never come.

Daring: Uh, Cerise.

Cerise stopped and found Daring standing there.

Cerise: Oh, hey, Daring.

Daring: I-I just want to say that, um, well, I am sorry I ever thought you were a damsel in distress. And you really saved us out there, so, yeah.

Cerise was actually surpised. She had never heard Daring apologize before.

Cerise: Oh. Thanks.

She smiled.

Daring: So, how about a dance?

Cerise: Um, aren't there a few other girls ahead of me?

Daring and Cerise both looked at the crowd of girls trying to get his attention.

Daring: But, I'd rather dance with you.

Cerise thought about it, then she looked over to you and Briar by the punch bowl. She then grabbed Daring and pulled him towards the dance floor.

As you and Baba Yaga tried to get the punch to taste right, Briar watched the slid show of the alumni of Ever After High.

That was when a picture appeared. Briar immediately recognized that someone was in the background. Someone hiding something.

Briar: Madame Yaga?

Baba Yaga: Yes, my dear?

Briar: That picture, that looks like my dorm room. But, who are those people?

You and Baba Yaga both looked. She pulled out her glasses and looked closer.

Baba Yaga: Why, that's Little Red Riding Hood and the Evil Queen.

Briar gasped. You both looked at each other and came up with the same idea.

Briar: Cedar, do you have your revealer rays? I need them.

You walked past Blondie and plucked out a bobbypin. With no time wasted, you both ran out of the dance.
--------
Briar opened her door and you both looked inside. She put on Cedar's Rays and scanned the room. As she did, the fairy pointed at her rug. She walked over to it and lifted it up, but nothing was there.

Then, the fairy pointed at the key hole.

Briar: Y/N.

You walked over and kneeled down. She pointed to a spot and you quickly inserted the bobbypin and got to picking the lock. A blue light began to glow in a square shape before a small part of floor moved to reveal a hiding space. You and Briar both looked inside, and saw the Storybook of Legends.

You picked it up and immediately felt the magic flow through your fingertips. You both smiled.

Y/N: We found it.

Briar: We did.

You handed it to her and she stared at it.

Briar: Now, to make sure no one has to sign it.

She stood up and quickly ran out. You got up and tried to follow, but she was fast. All you could do was watch.

Wait. Where was she going?

Briar entered the woods and made her way to....the Wishing Well?! She's not really going to throw it down the well, is she?

Well, she doesn't want to lose her friends Forever After.

But, it's a mistake!

However, she will realize that. Her story was far from over. Everyone's story was far from over.

For you see, when Briar left you alone, she didn't realize that you didn't head back to the dance.

No. Instead, you went back to your room. You opened your top drawer and pulled out Raven's wand. After examining it closely, you decided to go through with your plan.

You snuck through the empty school, music echoing from the Grimmnasium, and down the corridor to Mr. Badwolf’s class. It was there that you found yourself looking at his treasure vault.

Y/N: You wanted to see bad? I'll show you bad.

You pointed the wand at the vault and began to recite a spell.

Y/N: A simple lock will not stop me. I cast this spell to unlock thee.

Green magic shot out from the wand and hit the vault. The lock spun around before the door opened and the treasure inside was revealed. You grinned.

You didn't want all of it, just the necklace. The necklace that once belonged to the Good Witch herself.

You picked it up and examined it closely, making sure it it wasn't a fake. You tucked it away into your pocket. You then stood up and smiled.

Y/N: I figured you'd be keeping an eye on your daughter to make sure no one get their paws on her.

You turned around and found Mr. Badwolf himself standing there. He wore a tux like you, but his was more patchwork. His hair was done up, probably because of his wife, and he didn't look upset to find you here.

Mr. Badwolf: Sending me a hext telling me that you're going to steal from me. Bold.

You shrugged.

Y/N: Figured I'd get my Thronework done. Even if I don't pass, I'm keeping it.

Mr. Badwolf: You're not even going to try and hide it?

You gave him a look.

Mr. Badwolf: Well, it's better than anything any of my other students has done. Can't say anyone has ever stole from me.

He just waved it off.

Mr. Badwolf: I'll give you your grade tomorrow. But so far, you're in the running.

He turned around and grumbled under his breath.

Mr. Badwolf: Enjoy your night, Y/N.

He then walked back up the stairs. As he did, you grinned.
------------
Ruby: There you are.

You looked up as you reentered the Grimmnasium. Ruby and Briar walked over to you. You smiled, already deciding not to tell them what you were doing in General Villainy.

Y/N: Hello. You look lovely, Ruby.

Ruby smiled and did a short bow. She spotted Blondie and Apple and excused herself to go talk to them. As she ran off, you watched.

It was nice to see her still being so happy and cheerful.

Briar: Sorry to run off like that. But, how did I beat you back here?

You turned back to her. You then twisted your wrist to reveal the flower that you had gotten for her.

Y/N: I had to run back to my room to get this for you.

Briar found her cheeks heating up. She took the rose and sniffed it.

Briar: This is really nice. Thank you.

Y/N: Anything for you, my pretty.

Briar: 'My pretty?'

You realized what you said and cleared your throat.

Y/N: Sorry. I, uh, was just trying something new. Was that too weird?

Briar shook her head.

Briar: Of course not. I like it.

You held out your hand and she placed hers upon it. You both walked back to the dance, ready to enjoy the night.

A dark beginning may have been what brought you here, but in the end, you made amazing friends and went on great adventures. The semester may be over, but the next one was just around the corner.

As everyone dance, you looked around with a smile. That smile slowly became a grin. That grin began to match even Kitty's in intentions.

Ever After High gave you such good memories when you thought there wasn't any hope left.

Shame that you'll be burning it to the ground.

You rubbed your hands together, your ring still missing. Briar looked back to you and looked at your eyes. It was so odd to know that one was fake. To her, at least in this light, they looked identical.
-----------------------
Your eyes opened wide as you quickly sat up. You took a deep breath immediately which caused you to cough. You covered your mouth, briefly forgetting the ring that was still on your finger.

As you coughed, your door opened and a young girl looked inside.

Ruby: Oh, you're awake! Good morning, bro!

You looked over to your sister to see that she was already dressed and ready for the day. Of course she was. She probably woke up an hour ago.

You looked down at yourself and realized you were sweating again. Your shirt had gotten pulled off by yourself in your slumber. Your hair was a mess to.

Ruby walked into your room and towards your window while you yawned.

Y/N: Morning, Ruby. What time is it?

Ruby: Just before noon.

She opened your curtains to show the city below. Just another day in Australia.

Y/N: Crap. My alarm didn't go off again.

Ruby: It's fine. Oscar and Oswald already handled lunch.

You sat you and ran a hand through your hair. Ruby knew you worked the hardest out of all of your siblings. You felt that you needed to since you were the oldest, even though you and Oswald were twins.

Ruby: Well, hurry up and get ready. We only have one day before we get shipped to school.

You laughed a bit.

Ruby: What’s so funny?

You shrugged. You couldn't quite explain it, but you felt like you've done this before. Like you had just had a fantastic dream of a school.

Y/N: I guess....I'm just glad to see another day.

Ruby: You're weird. Your uniform is on your closet door. Try it on to see if it fits.

Ruby left your room to get changed. You took a deep breath and hopped out of bed. You stretched for a moment before looking over to the closet.

After changing clothes, you looked down at yourself. You didn't like all the gray, but you didn't expect much from a school called Ever Academy. You didn't even know why your dad was sending you and Ruby there. You were fine on your own here.

You just decided it was best not to fight it. After all, it could be fun.

You looked at yourself in the mirror and began to mess with your hair. However, when you did, you saw something weird. Your reflection looked strange.

You were wearing a black tux with a green vest, bow tie, and cuffs. Silver lined the collar and the you wore an odd pin on the knot of your bowtie.

Your room also looked weird. Like a kind of room that Ruby would draw for her fantasy art pieces.

You blinked and rubbed your eyes, looking again. It was your usual reflection once again. That was weird. Must be the extra sleep running around your head.

Ruby: Y/N! Hurry up! The food's getting cold!

Y/N: Uh, coming!

You looked back at the mirror again. You shook your thoughts out and hurried out of your room. Your bickering with your sister regarding you wearing your school uniform to eat echoed in the room.

Just another day.
---------------
Just another day.

You grinned as you watched everyone dance. For a brief moment, your eyes flashed a strange green. You took a sip of your punch, then laughed to yourself.

Y/N: Hehehe hahahaha. Hahaha! What fun.

The End.....For Now......

---------------
