''WAKE UP EMBER!'' Darby shouts. I took my pillow from under my head putting it over my head because I didn't want to deal with my sister and her morning bullshit. She came into my room waking me up by telling me that this is the night where our parents will speak with Kace's father.

I didn't care because my parents have been planning her life and forgetting about me, so why would she want me to care for. She shook me awake since I was not giving her the attention she deserves. My sister Darby has been the attention-seeker and I am more of the girl in the corner where nobody sees her.

''WAKE UP EMBER!'' she shakes me once again.

''Fine, I am awake now.'' I got up smelling breakfast knowing I needed to wake up because Alicia always makes the best pancakes unlike my mother.

''Today is my day, so make sure you don't fuck up.'' Darby was smiling.

''Why would I want to fuck up your day when I don't care.'' I said.

''This is why I have more of the attractive charms and not the glum unlike you.''

''Oh, am I supposed to be upset about that?'' I was being sarcastic. She stared at me as if I lost my mind when I was speaking to her in sarcasm. Then she picks up her phone since her little lover is calling her but what I was overhearing was not loving but yet shouting coming from the person on the phone.

''Kace, why are you acting like this for?'' She was sad hearing Kace shouting at her. I took the phone from her hand telling Kace he is a jerk for yelling at her and he told me that he was talking to Darby and not some invisible wall.

''I don't like talking to dicks but here I am talking to one early in the morning.'' I hung up the phone.

''Why did you do that?''

''Why would you want to be with someone who doesn't like you let alone yells at you early in the morning?''

''He's has been the only guy I want to be with.'' I can see Darby would die for this guy, but in reality, I think he is a jerk.

''Darby, you are only 18 in college.''

''18 and not married.'' She acts like being married in college will be easy which is not.

''In my experience, college is more important than some marriage.''

''Easy for you to say because you don't have anyone who loves you the way Kace loves me.'' Darby was acting delusional because Kace does not love her and, in my opinion, I don't think he likes her either.

I got up from my bed since I am tired of hearing Darby rant about Kace when she knows he will never love her even if they get married. Darby went to get herself dressed up since she wanted to look good for school since Kace will be there.

I don't care about Kace, nor did I like the guy since he is nothing but bad news. He is a brooding guy with charms that the ladies fall for but yet he is a bad boy who has a dark heart. He is rude yet conceited, and he is a player. I don't understand how my sister would be heels in love with a guy who will play with heart let alone hurt her along the process.

I want my heart to be somewhere safe and Kace was not the guy. I headed downstairs to get something to eat before I got to school. Darby was talking to mother about the plans for tonight's dinner and I was not invited to that talk since Kace is not marrying me. My father sat at the table telling me my day will be coming.

''What day?''

''The day we will help you find a man of your dreams.'' He said. I was thinking to myself why I would need help from my parents to find someone to marry when I can do that all on my own. I am not Darby who is falling in love with someone who doesn't see her as wife material let alone marriage material. I want a guy who will love me for me and will do anything to be with me only, a person who will not break my heart.

Darby sat at the table eating her toast with some jelly and mother sat at the table asking me how was my night?

''My night is fine, mother.''

''Ember, I need you to watch out for your sister at school since our princess is looking good for Kace.''

''Darby is a big girl.''

''And you sister.'' I didn't care because Darby acts like she doesn't know me at school, so I wasn't going to watch over someone who doesn't need me. I was getting annoyed with the talk my mother and sister were having so I left heading to school.

I didn't say goodbye to my parents let alone my sister because they are nothing but self-centered rich assholes. Sometimes I hate coming from this family because they are so full into their lives that they usually forget about those around them, but I can't make them change.

I got to the school seeing Kace all over this girl laughing with her while he is betrothed to my sister. I went inside acting like I didn't see anything because this was something my sister needed to handle on her own. I went to the bulletin looking for some news where Kace was standing next to me.

''So, Ember, you think you can talk to me however you want without thinking of the consequence.'' He stared at me and was waiting for me to turn to face him.

''I am a woman and can speak to you however I please.''

''Then face me to tell it to my face now.'' He was still waiting.

''You are nothing but an asshole, my sister likes you so much and you are hurting her.'' I turned to face him.

''Hurting her actually deals with telling her I will not marry her regardless but really hurting her would work if I was dating you to torture her.''

''I wouldn't date you even if you paid me.'' I walked away.
