Lexi POV:

Austin arrived in the ICU and walked up to Drake and I, we were standing outside the door while the doctors were checking on Vanessa. He was not looking too pleased "What the fuck happened?" He asked pissed off.

"According to the witnesses she was going north and a car was coming from the east, I can't think of the road name, but you know where that one gravel road is, where you can access the freeway? This guy pulled out right in front of her, she tried swerving but it was too late. She hit the vehicle, causing her Escalade to flip and roll." I cried, blowing my nose.

Austin looked confused, like he was trying to think of where I was talking about "Where did this happen?" Austin asked.

"On the freeway, she was on her way to meet us downtown."

Drake looked at Austin while leaning his back against the wall "They tested the guy that caused this mess, and he had alcohol on his breath."

The doctor came out of the room and began to let us know how she was doing "Well she's stable for now, she had some swelling and bleeding of the brain, right now she is in a coma, we would like to keep it induced until the swelling on her brain goes down." The doctor explained.

I gasped "Oh my god!"

"She also has a broken arm and 3 broken ribs." He says looking at his chart. "She's very lucky."

"Can we see her?" Austin asked.

"Yes you may see her, but please keep it to a minimum. After tonight I'd like it if only one person was in the room with her at a time."

Vanessa's phone rang, I looked to see who was calling and looked at Drake "Excuse me a moment, I need to take this."

Chris POV:

I was finally able to take a break, I grabbed my phone to see if Vanessa tried calling and my eyes widened when I saw that I had over thirty missed calls and a bunch of messages. What the fuck? I thought. I didnt have any voicemails but I noticed a number that I didn't recognize that had called a bunch of times. I saw that Vanessa had called quite a few times as well.

I looked at my messages, they were all from Vanessa's phone, two were from her and the rest of the messages came from Lexi using Vanessa's phone. Holy fuck, she's been in an accident.

I called Vanessa's phone and Lexi picked up. "Hello." Lexi answered quietly "Hello.. Chris?" She asked again.

"What the hell is going on?" I asked worried, I could hear her crying and she could barely speak.

"Vanessa has been in a horrible accident, and she's in ICU right now." I had a hard time understanding her, but I thought she said that Vanessa had been in an accident. "What happened? How is she?"

"I just spoke with the doctor, right now she is in stable condition, but she's also in a coma. They had to do emergency surgery since she had some swelling and bleeding of the brain, she has three broken ribs as well as a broken arm." She then went on to explain what had happened.

"My God.. we port in the morning, I'll grab a flight when we get there. I'll try and get on a plane the first thing when we arrive, if I can't get on one I'll hire a private plane to get there."

"Please.. get here as soon as you can, she needs you. I know she's in a coma, and they said that they want to keep her that way until the swelling goes down, but maybe hearing your voice it might help her get better."

I hung up with Lexi, and walked over to one of the bartenders explaining to him what happened to Vanessa, and that I would be leaving first thing in the morning. "I'll pay you double time for this, if you could pick up the slack for me."

Austin POV:

I walked into the room and had to stop when I saw Vanessa laying there hooked up to the machines, her head wrapped up like a mummy, it hit me hard. I walked over to her and sat down. I took her hand and placed it into mine, and lowered my head. "I'm so sorry Vanessa. You did not deserve this. This is all my fault, had I not been so stupid your mind wouldn't have been all over the place, and this probably would never had happened."

Lexi and Drake walked in and hear me talking to her "We will let you be for a few minutes." Lexi said quietly. "Let us know when you're done, I would like to see her."

"I won't be much longer, I'm sure that I'm the last person that she wants here anyways."

I turned back around and looked at all the machines and tubes that were hooked up to her, I felt bad, and I felt guilty "Vanessa... I know that I'm the last person that you want here right now, or to even hear, but I still care for you very much. When I got the call, I rushed here as fast as I could, I want you to know that I do still love you and I never meant to hurt you."

I fought the tears from coming out as long as I could, I couldn't hold it anymore and broke down. Out of all the people in the world, she was the last person that ever deserved to have this happen to. I began to get angry, she didn't deserve this one bit especially after what I did to her. I brought her hand up to my mouth and kissed the top of her hand. "I know you don't love me anymore, but I still love you. I don't know if you can hear me, but I want you to know that."

"I hope that you can forgive me someday." I said to her as I stood up. I figured Lexi was itching to come and see her. I opened the door and walked over to Lexi and Drake "You can go see her now, I'm going to go sit in the waiting room." I then looked at Lexi thanking her for calling me.

Lexi POV:

Drake and I entered the room quietly, I gasped at the sight of her. "It doesn't even look like her I say to Drake." Holding onto him as I walked closer to her.

I stood next to her and held onto her hand "Vanessa it's Lexi if you can hear me, please squeeze my hand." I begged her. I had a feeling that she wouldn't. It just made me cry harder when she didn't. I looked over at all the machines and was reading the numbers, trying to figure out what they all meant. I then sat down next to her and laid my head down on the bed. "God I hope Chris can make it, she needs him." I say to Drake, quietly.

The nurse walked in and checked up on her, checked the machines and checked on her IV. "How is she doing?" I ask.

"So far everything looks good." She says changing her IV bag.

"Will I be able to stay with her tonight?"

"I'm sure that will be fine."

"Thanks, I just want to be in here if she wakes up or moves." I say to her sighing, knowing that wasn't going to be happening anytime soon.

I looked at Vanessa and began to cry, why her? Why did this have to happen to her? I asked myself "God Vanessa I want to hug you so bad right now, I want to tell you that you will be OK."

Drake put his hands on my shoulders and began massaging them. "I'm going to go home, call me if anything changes."

"I will." I sighed.

A couple hours later Austin walked back into the room "Has anything changed?"

I shook my head no and laid my head back down on the bed next to her. "I'm going to stay the night with her." I said to Austin "If anything changes during the night I'll call you."

"I can stay too if you would like." He said sounding sincere.

"I'm not so sure that's a good idea, I only called you because you two had been together for so long, and thought that you should know. But for Vanessa's sake if she wakes up and sees you here, I don't want to get her upset, that might not be such a good thing.." I said, looking back to Vanessa.

"You're right, I guess call me if you need anything." Austin says turning around.

"Austin?"

He stopped and shut the door again "Yes?"

"Thanks for coming, she might get upset that I called you, but I couldn't see not calling you and letting you know, after six years, there's still gotta be a little love left there." I say to him.

"Lexi, I may have screwed up, but I still love her very much. I hate myself for what I did to her, and it's been eating at me. This was the icing on the cake, and I cannot believe this happened to her. It does hurt me to see her like this and I'm scared for her." He left quietly, somehow I actually believed that he was sincere about knowing that he fucked up.

I stayed in the room with her and had fallen asleep. I had then awaken to her machines going off like crazy, which scared the shit out of me, I then left to go looking for a nurse.

I finally found a nurse that was walking around and she went to Vanessa's room, checking everything out. "She's ok, the IV bag needed changing and her oxygen reader fell off of her finger." The nurse said.

"Oh, I hope that I didn't bump it. "

"It's OK."

She hasn't moved at all, I talked to her hoping that she would respond. I told her that I had talked to Chris and that he was coming to see her first thing in the morning. I had hoped by saying that to her, that it would get her attention, but it didn't.

The next morning, I woke up to the doctors taking her out of the room. "Is everything OK?" I asked worried.

"She will be back, we're bringing her to another room for testing and to do another brain scan on her. We would like to see if anything changed during the night." A nurse explained.

After a while they brought her back in. "A doctor should be in shortly after he sees the tests." Said the nurse, hooking her back up to the machines.

"Vanessa, please wake up, please...." I begged her.

There was a knock at the door, I was about to get up to answer it, but the door opened and it was Chris. I walked over to him, giving him a big hug, and started crying again...
