I opened the door to my room slowly, peaking my head in and making sure that Austin was not in the room. I walked around looking to see if he had been here and saw that his notes for work were gone including his laptop. The bed was also a mess, so I knew that he actually spent the night here. I noticed that my phone had nineteen missed calls from Austin, and a voicemail. I sat down on the bed and listened to the voicemail.
"Vanessa.....it's not what you think , I can explain if you will listen. Please answer your phone."

Explain what? That your'e a liar? I snapped. And for work? Why the hell would she need to be there for work, it makes no sense to me, she's just a peon secretary.

I hung up the phone, and grabbed something to wear before heading in the shower. When I got in the bathroom I noticed a letter from Austin sitting on the sink. I read it quickly not really caring what he had to say, but I was curious.
Vanessa,
I can only imagine what your thinking and I don't blame you one bit. I'm sorry that I keep hurting you, I never ever want to hurt you. You mean the world to me, I may not show it at times, but you do. Making me sleep alone when you're upset makes me not sleep. I tossed and turned all night worrying about you, and hoping that you were ok. Not knowing where you spent the night kills me. You didn't deserve to be upset on this vacation, you should have been having a blast and enjoying yourself, and I've screwed that up for you and I'm sorry.

I shook my head and crumpled up the paper throwing it in the trash. He's just playing mind games with me, I know it. If he truly loved me, none of this would have ever happened, and not to mention going to Mexico with Kenna? I had always wanted to go there, he knew that and he took her? How many other times was she on a trip with him?

I didn't even want to think about it anymore, I took my shower and got ready. I sent Lexi a message telling her that l was going to be hanging out with Chris and that we should hook up later.

The first place we went to was a cafe for breakfast. I ordered a vegi omelet and a strong coffee and Chris ordered waffles with a strawberry topping and juice. The place was nothing fancy, just a cute little place that was very busy, I liked that you ate outside and that the weather was perfect.

I was surprised at the presentation of the food when they brought our food to us, something that I wasn't expecting at a place like this, and the best part was that the food tasted wonderful. I took my fork and stole a piece of Chris's waffle. I took it so quick and bit into it that I had gotten whip cream all over my lips.

He looked at me and chuckled, he then stood up and leaned over the table "Hey that was my food." He said before giving me a kiss, sucking and licking the whip cream off of my lips. "You had some whip cream on your lips that needed to be cleaned off." He said with a smile as he looked into my eyes.

Just him looking at me the way he does had me feeling all giddy, and making my heart race "Well it has good flavoring with a hint of sweetness." I smiled. When he sat back down I giggled as I stole a strawberry off of his plate.

"I'd like to bring you to the caves, I think that you might like that. They are actually pretty cool to see." He stood up and grabbed our plates, bringing them over to where they needed to be. "I also would like to take you over to tour the rum factory." He said as he came back over to me. He took my hand and helped me off of the chair.

"That would be fun. Would you mind if I asked Lexi and Drake to come and join us on the tour?"

"Sure, they would really enjoy it, whatever you would like to do is fine with me. I just want you to enjoy yourself and have fun." He says.

I messaged Lexi telling her to come and join us. While we were touring the caves, my heart kept skipping a beat each time I would look at Chris. I couldn't believe how he saved my life on this trip. If it hadn't been for him, even Lexi for that matter I would have been all alone on this trip. After the caves, we walked along another waterfall, while we were walking I stopped in front of him, I then wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head against his chest.

"I don't know what I did to deserve you, but I'm glad that we crossed paths. I have really enjoyed your company and everything that you have done for me so far." I looked up and cupped the back of his head pulling him in for a kiss. We stopped kissing when some kids walked by us whistling and giggling at us. The way he looked at me, it was if he had something to tell me.

"What's that look for?" I asked him.

He shook his head and gave me a hug "It's nothing. I just hope that when we get back to Florida, all your hopes and dreams come true. I want the best for you and for you to be happy. You don't deserve a guy like Austin, that's for sure."

He gave me another loving kiss before we headed over to the distillery to meet with Lexi and Drake. We were standing outside the distillery waiting for Lexi and Drake to show up, Chris gave me a nudge when he saw them walking towards us.

"I take it no Austin again?" She asks as she gave me a hug, I stepped back and looked at her.

"I don't really want to talk about him, I still haven't talked to him. He left me a letter this morning, I read it and crumbled it up throwing it away. He's just playing with my mind."

"What a fucker." Lexi says. I couldn't help but laugh.

Chris placed his hand on the small of my back, I looked up at him and smiled. "Well let's go in, I could use some rum." I giggled.

We go in and started the tour, we started off with some rum punch, and learned a little history about the rum, they also had us watch a film about it. When the film was over we got to start tasting the different rums. After all the rum tasting Lexi and I both start feeling a buzz kick in and we started getting a little goofy. We lastly got to visit the bottling plant and see how they make everything. Before we left, we went to the shop and we each got some bottles of rum to take back to the ship with us.

We had some time left until we had to go back to board the ship, so we all went to one of the beaches to wind down . We did a little swimming and swam with the turtles in the most bluest beautiful waters. Lexi and I goofed off for a bit taking selfies together in the water, and with the turtles, trying not to drop our phones in the water.

"Chris and Drake seem to be getting along pretty well, did you fill Drake in what has been going on?" I asked Lexi while we were walking on the hot sand looking for a place to sit.

"Yea, I filled him in, especially since we were meeting you two today and it wasn't with Austin." Lexi explained.

"That's fine, I just have a feeling that the love of my life doesn't love me anymore, and I honestly believe that he is cheating on me, I have questioned it for so long, and after what I found I believe that he is, so it should make things much easier for me to decide on what to do. I'm getting to know Chris a lot more who has stolen a place in my heart." I tell her."

"I hear you." She says, then stops talking when the guys sat down handing us our rum filled punch.

I tried a sip and it tasted pretty good, I looked over at Chris he happened to watching me try the drink "Want to try it? I ask Chris while stirring the drink, I then took another sip this time a bigger gulp.

"No thanks I've had them before, I do still have to work tonight." He says smiling, he was looking at me like he could take me right then and there in front of everyone.

"Lexi, can you take a picture of Chris and I? I ask.

"Sure."

We headed to the beach and took a variety of different photos, even though I have enjoyed my time with Chris, I still felt a little hurt being that this should have been a time that Austin and I were suppose to be together doing the exact same thing. I just need to get my act together and break it off with Austin. Our relationship is too far gone now, I know it will never be saved.

We finished our drinks and then headed back. As we're heading up to the port, Chris stopped me "I'll meet up with you later." I said to Lexi. He put his arms around me and gave me a kiss. There was something about that kiss, the kiss felt different than it has been. It was so hot, so passionate, so loving that my knees felt like they were going to give out. My entire body was numb and I felt extremely wet below. The kiss was so long it had me gasping for air when he pulled away. "Thanks for hanging out with me today."

"You're welcome, but I should be the one thanking you, I had a lot of fun." I gave him a hug, he then took my hand and started walking towards the ship.

"You're welcome to come by and see me later." He says releasing my hand when we got inside.

I smiled and gave him one last hug "OK, maybe I'll see you later." I gasped and my heart stopped when I turned around and saw Austin standing right there.
