When Austin told me three weeks ago that we were going on an all inclusive Caribbean cruise for fifteen days I was ecstatic! I was so excited that I had to call my best friend Lexi and tell her about the vacation that Austin had just surprised me with.

"Do you think he is finally going to propose"? She asked with excitement.

"I don't know, I'm not really sure what his intentions are, but that would be my hopes." I said in awe, I was so excited that all I could do was walk around with a big smile on my face, imagining him proposing "We were eating dinner when he came right out and said that we needed a vacation, and that he had already bought us tickets for a Caribbean cruise."

"An all inclusive fifteen day cruise? He must have something very special in mind, that would be my thinking... Oh my God Vanessa, what if he does, what would you say? Would you say yes?" Lexi questioned.

"Of course I would, think about it we have been together for six years, we're practically married already. We already bought a house together, and I know we would make beautiful kids together. I'm twenty five and I would like to have kids before I'm thirty, why not make it official?" I say as I sit down on the couch stretching my legs out onto the coffee table.

"I better be your fucking maid of honor!" Lexi says excitedly.

I laugh "Of course you would be my maid of honor, why wouldn't you be? I was yours two years ago remember?" Vanessa says.

"Well we need to take you and go shopping, you'll need a special dress for the night that he proposes." Lexi says.

"That's if he even does." I say twirling my hair with my finger.

Lexi came over the very next day "We're going shopping." She says as she walked in the door.

"OK, let me go finish getting ready." I then hurried to the bathroom and threw my hair up into a messy bun, and put the rest of my make up on. I had already had on a pair of my favorite skinny jeans, it was just a top that I needed to find. As I looked through my closet I found a slouchy shirt that hung low on the left side of my shoulder and put that on.

"So where are we going?" I ask as I grab my coach purse.

"I don't know, let's go see what they have at the mall." Lexi says "I'll drive if that's OK." She smiled as we got in her black Lexus. We pretty much shopped all day, after shopping we headed to Jake's nightclub for a couple drinks to unwind and do some dancing.

We sat down at the bar when two guys came up to us "What are two beautiful ladies sitting here at the bar all by yourselves, can we buy you a drink?" The one said with a smile.

We looked at each other shrugging our shoulders "Sure why not?" Lexi said. I ordered a Sex on the beach and Lexi had ordered a Mai Tai. The guys stood there talking to us for a while, in the hour since we had walked into the bar, they had already bought us a couple drinks, along with a couple shots of tequila. "Let's go dance." Lexi said as she got off of her stool "Excuse us." She said to the guys, we then headed for the dance floor.

We were in the middle of dancing together when the two guys who had bought us drinks came up to us, and started dancing with us. "Hi!" I yelled over the loud music, slurring my words.

"You don't mind if we join you?" He asked.

"No, not at all." I smiled innocently.

While we were dancing, one of the guys named Aaron who I happened to be dancing with leaned forward and placed a hard kiss on my lips. I pulled away in shock slapping him hard across the face "Don't do that, don't ever try that again. I have a fiance already." I snapped.

"Im sorry, I didnt see a ring on your finger and assumed that you were single." He says rubbing the side of his face.

"Just because I don't have a ring on my finger, doesn't mean that I'm single!" I yelled. I then saw Lexi's husband Drake walking through the crowd of people looking at us, I grabbed Lexi excusing ourselves. Austin was away for the weekend on a business trip, so Lexi had called Drake earlier saying that we were at the bar and would need a ride later on.

We made our way over to him and he didn't look happy "Drake I didn't know you were coming so soon? I said I would call when we were ready to leave" Lexi said slurring her speech.

"Its time to go NOW" he said angrily. I figured that he must have seen us dancing with the guys and wasn't too thrilled, he had every right to be upset, even though we were only dancing. Maybe he saw the guy kiss me, and assumed we were up to no good I thought to myself.

It ended up being a quiet ride home. As Drake pulled into my driveway I reached around her seat wrapping my arms around her. "I'll call you tomorrow, thank you for today I had fun."

For the next couple weeks Lexi and I had gone out tanning, trying to prepare myself for the sun. Being that I leave the very next day we decided to go have our nails and hair done. While they were doing our nails I looked over at Lexi and smiled "Thank you so much for the past couple weeks, taking me shopping, going tanning with me, preparing me incase Austin proposes. I don't know what I would have done without you." I tell her. "Please let me pay for your hair and nails, it's the least I can do."

"I can pay for my own hair and nails, you don't have to do that. You're my best friend, I love you and I wouldn't have let you do this by yourself. I enjoyed hanging out with my best friend, it was fun! I just hope that your vacation is wonderful like you and is everything that you expect it to be." She smiled.

"I hope so to." I hummed.

When they were done with Lexi's nails, they took her to the next room to do her hair. Lexi had her hair trimmed and added some highlights to her blonde hair which really brought out her big almond shaped brown eyes. I always thought that she was beautiful and was always jealous of her. Since we were kids, I had always told her that she looked like Brittney Spears.

They then took me to the other room, where I had my hair cut, added some highlights, and styled. I was a little nervous at first, when I looked down to the floor my stomach had dropped when I saw all the hair that they cut off laying on the ground. Holy shit! I thought to myself.

Lexi was pouring herself a coffee when I had walked up to her and posed for her "So what do you think, think he will notice?" I asked nervously "My head feels lighter now that they cut off about eight inches, and I'm not sure about the highlights, can you even tell I added them?"

Lexi looked at me in shock and screeched "Oh my.. your hair! It's a lot shorter." She said surprised as she played with my hair "It looks perfect, he better notice dammit, and dammit he better propose to my gorgeous best friend!"

"Good... I feel much better, I just wanted a different look and make him go crazy, he's been acting kind of different lately."

While she tried arguing with me, I had gotten my way and ended up paying for the both of us, we then left to go to my house. "I'm so ready for this trip, I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight!" I say to her as we walk in my house.

"I bet... Austin hasn't been around for the last few weekends, I'm sure your ready to spend some time with him finally."

"Yes I am, it's so unusual for him. Usually his business trips are once a month or once every other month. This month it's been every weekend!" I sighed, feeling hurt that I hadn't seen him much this past month "I almost wonder if that's why he set up this cruise for us, he probably felt guilty that he knew he would be gone a lot this month and this is his way of making it up to me."

"I don't know Vanessa, but I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure there's reasons why he has been working so much."

"See that's the thing... he's always so quiet about work stuff, he never talks to me about anything that has to do with his job. I'm not sure if he's allowed to discuss business stuff with anyone, after all he is head of banking operations."

"Maybe he signed some contract stating he wouldn't discuss anything with anyone, he comes home tonight doesn't he?" Lexi asked, while looking up at the clock.

"He's suppose to be home around seven."

"Well It's five now, I better get going."

I give Lexi a hug "I better get going too and get dinner started for him."
