I honestly don't know why people freak out so much and give your OC a Mary Sue labeled just because they wield a knife as their weapon of choice. I mean, I get that a lot of OCs have that as a weapon so it is a little over used. But still, it's a logical weapon of choice. Something easy to carry around, normally light weight, easy to wield. I mean, I know plenty of OCs that have knives as weapons. Never saw it as much of a problem.
